Fun fact: the hdmi cable that comes with the switch oled supports 4k, despite it only going up to 1080p docked, which proves the switch oled was supposed to be a more powerful console

It’s likely Nintendo seems to save themes for the 2nd version of a console like themes came to 3DS and not the first DS

Mario Wonder was announced on June 21st and was released by Ocrober 20th... if Switch 2/NG/4K gets mentioned in May officially to investors... it'll be this year I think... late October launch...

As long as it’s backwards compatible, I’ll be pretty happy. Magnetic joy-cons, a better kickstand, and more reliable Bluetooth would be great!
It sounds like it’s not a drastically new console. Upgraded but still just a more powerful Switch so that makes me think it’s totally possible that they just announce it close to the holiday and release it. They clearly have some things behind closed doors ready. My bet is on Metroid Prime 4 as a launch title Switch 2 exclusive.
Maybe most of the game after the upgraded switch still playable for the old switch. If this is true, they can just have the 3D mario rumoured in anytime for the regular switch. switch model upgrade in 2024 and switch successor in 2026?

As I've said before, Patience is the key. Nintendo is MOST LIKELY waiting for June, which is VERY CLOSE.
Btw since some people don't realize Endless Ocean is a first party Nintendo IP/Franchise.

I myself am in the "Hopefully" category of this. Where it's if it does happen I'll be super excited and happy, but if it doesn't happen it won't affect me as much as it probably would otherwise.

I think "4k output" is more hyped version of saying that it has HDMI 2.1 and internal upscaling to 4k!
I think the end of the year rumors stem from when manufacturers plan to have the console ready. Midori has backed up the leak of the March 2025 release date. Judging by how perfect her track record is, I’m inclined to believe her. That coupled with Pyoro essentially backing up this going into manufacturing soon, I would bet they plan to get ahead of manufacturing leaks.
I don't know for sure, but is Nintendo delaying this console because of the expectation break? Like, Nintendo didn't want people to be prepared for the new console? Just an idea

Why is 2024 becoming the year of patience; we have gta 6 releasing in 2025, and we have pokemon lengeds z to a releasing in 2025
The June Direct will likely have the big Switch announcements for the rest of the year with another Direct to pad out the year sometime in Fall. Probably one new holiday game, two more remakes, a few 3rd party games and a few games coming to the Online Service. Then I'll guess around February Nintendo will announce the next platform with a major Direct announcing release window titles 2 or 3 weeks later with a June or July release of the new platform. Let's see how much of this prediction comes true.
The release date is likely to be March 2025 (cos thats the near start of the Japanese Financial Year)
