I accept what you say I am one such example. I don't have any qualification to say as brahmin. I will try to reconnect to spiritual life. Now I am 43 yrs. I will follow it as much as possible in my rest of life. I know it will be big effort to me and also difficult to me because I am totally out spiritual life. After one year I will come back to this same video, I will share how far I have tried. I like our culture, but my mind is not try for this minimum spiritual life.

yes, you are correct. we have to do 'Nithya Karmanushtanangal' properly. yes nonveg eating some Brahmins and Drinking liquor and telliing proud about it are also now a days there sir. some Brahmin people eventhough poor do their Anushtanam properly.

I accept what you say I am one such example. I don't have any qualification to say as brahmin. I will try to reconnect to spiritual life. Now I am 43 yrs. I will follow it as much as possible in my rest of life. I know it will be big effort to me and also difficult to me because I am totally out spiritual life. After one year I will come back to this same video, I will share how far I have tried. I like our culture, but my mind is not try for this minimum spiritual life.

The Speaker dealt about the virtuous life led by Brahmins of yore and concludes that such attributes begets “intellectuals”.. when monarchy disappeared Brahmins lost support in leading an ideal life , guiding society and gradually , over decades, began to disregard the prescribed practices by their ancestors. It was found not possible to live only on charity
of others and their outlook gradually changed.. After English rule, the changes were more speedier. Starting from teaching, they took up various other professions more and more .. all at the expense of their Vedic practices prescribed.. The point to be noted was that they tried as best as they could to stick to whatever religious, cultural and social practices..But surely there were erosions in various degrees in different ways in different families. Still there are many families following the core of Dharmic living , often struggling to meet both ends.
In such a background, it is some what irrelevant to pose the question of “intellectual “ which word offers different interpretations depending on various contexts in which it is referred to. If it is in studies or money making or scientific knowledge, religious or spiritual, or in any other fields we can find innumerable examples of persons of other castes shining.. were they all descendants of those who practised like Vedic time Brahmins? Certainly not!
Genes undergo gradual changes.. for better or worse( depends on your definition) and therefore let us not try to find answers where none could universally be correct..
Even making a generalisation of any caste as full of good people , people of valour, of business acumen etc are erroneous.. least of all “ intellectual”.
