Another commendable character I have observed in brahmins is unity in the family. They will always help their kith and kin. Hardly any court case amongst brahmins for property dispute. All issues inside family they solve amicably. If one relative becomes better in life, they cheer the person and use the person to uplift themselves. In other castes, I have noticed the reverse. If a person becomes better, they discourage the person and try to bring the person down
Mrs. Esther, Your observation among the brahmin family, on the discipline of unity among the family members is true. Right from childhood this is being reminded among other aspects. Some writers say that brahmin girls look out for the economically rich male and the girls get wedded to them, is written here in derogatory sense. Here and there, some sporadic cases might happen which is not a rule, to under mine the chastity of womanhood. Rather, the habits of a brahmin girl or boy, if they go for cross marriage, they would suffer and also the incumbatant male or female. The primary kitchen will not have menu of cuscus, lavanga pattai, soambu, garlic , english vegetables on special occasions , including suraikai or bottlegourd. The above mentioned masala items are needed for non veg preparation, also considered to be aphrodisiac. This also one of the reasons that the brahmin does not go to police Station, courts and remain law respecting citizen. Some observations of degrading modesty of brahmin girls are untrue and highly condemnable! Will they throw the same comments on their own sisters, aunts, mothers and ladies of their own families?
As a brahmin I can say its not true all the time. In my family there has been jealously etc etc. But like you mentioned it is never allowed to go to courts or become disputes. Main reason is like Bailwan said, we don't have that much aggression in the body. Yes we have made mistakes in past, but if someone questions us with valid points, we become silent and start minding our business. Engala over ah villain ah portray pannitaanga purely for politics and jealousy reasons. Bottomline: we are bad, but only as much as others. Not the worst villain of the world by any stretch of imagination.

Twenty years back I was in Palani temple,where one village family came and archana plate to Gurukkal.for archana, that gurukkal came out side and flowers spread onthe floor,he took and gave to village people with out doing archana. I have observed that many of the Brahmins in top positions have not shown any favoritism to the fellow caste persons for getting any job, etc. They are generally honest They are also sincere in their profession. They are less corrupt. These qualities are to be appreciated by us.

Even though I am from a minority community, I have many Bhramin friends. Following are some of the qualities I admire in them( This is not to belittle the other community friends): i. Their religiosity and refined nature ii.Their respect for culture, tradition and language iii. love for music, dance and other art forms and their appetite for good, wholesome food iv. Their non- violent nature and preference for vegetarian food v. respect for elders vi.Their intellect, hard work and trustworthiness vii. Their broad-mind and openness to new ideas vii. Their respect for talent and the importance they give for education viii. Their family values and respect for relationships ix. Their amiable, friendly nature x. Their constant effort to improve their lives xi. The talent, family values and feminine charm of the Bhramin women xii. Their sense of humour is legendary xiii.Last but not least, I am a big fan of the Tamil spoken by them....I feel the Bhramin potential is not yet fully utilised in our country and that is the reason they go abroad.
They are wealth of knowledge and we learn more from them. Due to cornering them now most of them have excelled in studies and now working as Assistant Professor/Professor in most of the colleges.

We brahnins require no appriciation or no degradation..tamil nadu is no more a friendly place for brahnins any more . Anti brahninism is only going to increase in coming days because that is msnin business in politics in tamil nadu. We also havr no strong leader in brahnin cim unity. It is better for brahnins to migrate to other states. Tamil can hate and forget Brahmins but Brahmins are always proud of being tamil and tamil temple cultures. A day will com and Tamils will miss Brahmins and call them. May be till that time brahnins survives. Brahmins have to only focus on their traditions and culture than focusing on unwanted thing.

Tamilnadu people speak on srilankan jaffna tamils issue. But jaffna tamils and brahmins are same type issue. In 1950s jaffna tamils were dominating universities and civil service jobs in srilanka. When srilankan government bought a Indian style reservation system , jaffna tamils took up arms and fought against srilankan government but brahmins in India accepted it peacefully
They didn't bring reservation but standardisation. Sri Lankan Tamils should score 90+ marks to get into college whereas 40 marks was enough for Sinhalese to get into college.

Bhramins are discriminated in a TN. The reservation in education and government jobs not deterred them. Many bhramins have joined CA and CWA and other professional courses and excelled. I had always wondered as to how so many CAs are there in Bombay, Delhi and other cities. It is essentially due to very lopsided reservation system in TN. Bayilwan is correct in his assessment to say that education is in bhramin's genes.

Please understand that Brahmins go for good education and better life. They will not go behind accumulation of wealth alone. Other communities are interested in accumulating land, jewellery but that doesn't mean that Brahmins are not interested in it. Their first priority is Education. At the same time, Tamil Nadu Politics is handled by Non-Brahmins only. There is hardly even one MLA from Brahmin community. Brahmins are keeping away from it which is not correct. Suggest not to indulge in these topics for betterment of all!

It is not genes. It is called dedication and focus. This upbringing like a guru is done and basically they practice life with some discipline. This training is followed in generations and they are trained to be independent and encourage thinking on their own. Scientifically they also discourage marriage within relationships to a very great extent.

Another commendable character I have observed in brahmins is unity in the family. They will always help their kith and kin. Hardly any court case amongst brahmins for property dispute. All issues inside family they solve amicably. If one relative becomes better in life, they cheer the person and use the person to uplift themselves.

As a brahmin I can say its not true all the time. In my family there has been jealously etc etc. But like you mentioned it is never allowed to go to courts or become disputes. Main reason is like Bailwan said, we don't have that much aggression in the body. Yes we have made mistakes in past, but if someone questions us with valid points, we become silent and start minding our business. Engala over ah villain ah portray pannitaanga purely for politics and jealousy reasons. Bottomline: we are bad, but only as much as others. Not the worst villain of the world by any stretch of imagination.

Their constant effort to improve their lives xi. The talent, family values and feminine charm of the Bhramin women xii. Their sense of humour is legendary xiii.Last but not least, I am a big fan of the Tamil spoken by them....I feel the Bhramin potential is not yet fully utilised in our country and that is the reason they go abroad.
They are wealth of knowledge and we learn more from them. Due to cornering them now most of them have excelled in studies and now working as Assistant Professor/Professor in most of the colleges.

We brahnins require no appriciation or no degradation..tamil nadu is no more a friendly place for brahnins any more . Anti brahninism is only going to increase in coming days because that is msnin business in politics in tamil nadu. We also havr no strong leader in brahnin cim unity. Tamilnadu people speak on srilankan jaffna tamils issue. But jaffna tamils and brahmins are same type issue. In 1950s jaffna tamils were dominating universities and civil service jobs in srilanka. When srilankan government bought a Indian style reservation system , jaffna tamils took up arms and fought against srilankan government but brahmins in India accepted it peacefully
They didn't bring reservation but standardisation. Sri Lankan Tamils should score 90+ marks to get into college whereas 40 marks was enough for Sinhalese to get into college.

Please understand that Brahmins go for good education and better life. They will not go behind accumulation of wealth alone. Other communities are interested in accumulating land, jewellery but that doesn't mean that Brahmins are not interested in it. Their first priority is Education.
At the same time, Tamil Nadu Politics is handled by Non-Brahmins only. There is hardly even one MLA from Brahmin community. Brahmins are keeping away from it which is not correct.
Suggest not to indulge in these topics for betterment of all!

I am agree with Bayilvan Ranganathan.
It is not genes. It is called dedication and focus. This upbringing like a guru is done and basically they practice life with some discipline. This training is followed in generations and they are trained to be independent and encourage thinking on their own. Scientifically they also discourage marriage within relationships to a very great extent.

Some non-brahmin women or men are like that they don't see caste and religion, if their opposite sex is wealthy they will marry. Brahmins are boasting themselves with their culture like aacharam, anushtanam and all. That's why they are been criticised. I know some Brahmin men and women eat beef and pork living in abroad.
