Hello, have you ever heard of Hobby League cards with a printing error on the shining part of the card?
I have a "Reinforcement of the Army" HL06-EN004 card for which the streaks on the card are very greatly reduced or even non-existent in the illustration. Thank you in advance for your feedback on this subject, best regards

When I got back into collecting in 2015 Hobby Leagues were some of the first cards I picked up just because of how nostalgic they were for me plus I just really love how they looked. I remember even getting a free Fissure with an order because the seller was just trying to get rid of them because they weren’t even worth a dollar then lol.
Let me just say, looking at your white binders with those beautiful sleeves in 4k is a treat to the eye, truly something special haha

As a Crystal Beast enjoyer, I'm glad we have a couple of hobby leagues in Ruby Carbuncle and Crystal Beacon. I don't know what it is about the rarity, which doesn't seem too much, but the foiling around the card is at a good volume where it's not over the top done (starlights for an example, which I'm not a fan of). But these are incredibly pleasing to look at in person, and have that nostalgic factor too!
Definitely need a duelist league video. Especially covering the common DMGs with colored text. 🙏🏼

Would love to see a video about duelist league cards.
Few years ago I was doing a tournament playing with a playset of royal decrees in Parallel rarity.
I was doing pretty well, on the fifth round of swiss, my opponent called a judge on me during g3 because my royal decree was in this rarity and I ended up getting a game loss, losing the match, and I had to buy a new set of royal decree during the tournament if I wanted to continue.
Judges told me it was too easy to stack those kind of cards and I can't play with them.
I had no idea you couldn't play with those cards, I was new to competition back then.
I never looked at those cards anymore.
That's my story with those hobby league cards.
Hobby League cards are some of my favorites. I collect them and use them with friends often. However, they're often banned from community tournaments due to how thick they are. Illegality definitely affects value

I love the 'prismatic' secrets on OG art as we see in the ocg, don't know where I stand on the ultra parallel rare as it's very similar but covers everything on the card, plus I haven't had one in hand yet - but if these were in 'prismatic' secret foiling with ocg stock I'd collect them all for sure.
can't deny how beautiful they look in the binder though, might have to pick up a few of the spell cards.
Man this video made me nostalgic haha, I still remember the first time I went to my local store's hobby league they had the Call of the Haunted and I thought it was fake because I'd never seen the rarity before haha. I think that was around 2009?

Konami really needs to go back to making their product for collectors and sealed product openers. When the game was a *collectible trading card game* compared to the butchered nature of now

I love these cards! They look quite nice to me. Even though I some people don't like the look. I think there some of best cards we got in TCG in terms of ascetics.

i have a italian monster reborn Hobby League and I always thaught it could have been fake because it didnt have the horizontal parallel foil just the vertical. didnt realize they changed the foiling for that set.

Had missed an auction for NM King of the Swamp HL2 a few weeks ago sold for $38 i bid $36 I had $40 typed in too should of just went with my gut
Eh, they're like Lost Art. They're unique, but at the moment they're too niche to be worth real money. Definitely worth keeping an eye on, though, in case they ever do start picking up momentum.
I really like parallel rares. The gadgets are nice and iconic for me. Never really considered these. They are not too bad, maybe ill go and get a copy to see them in person. Overall, great presentation on these. I really like how you show them reflecting against the light. Looking forward to duelist league.

On TCGPlayer they list some cards in the HL2 set as “Parallel Rare” and some cards as “Ultra Rare”. Should they all be Parallel Rare? Is that a mistake? Or did they also print normal Ultra Rare versions of certain cards?

I def ran hobby league mystic tomatoes, royal decrees, and giant rats in sanctioned regional events back in the day. I did have one opponent that took issue with it because of the thickness but because the rule was never explicit, nothing could really be done. Plus this was when upper deck was running the show and they were printing counterfeit cards so they weren't exactly a moral authority lmao

Now that we can double sleeve and have new rarities like Starlights, QCR, Premium Gold and Parallel Rares being reintroduced into the game via the Pot Collection do you believe Konami will (..or should) allow Hobby League cards in tournament play?
I mean since double sleeving exists, I don't see why not. They're indistinguishable with double sleeves IMO. Thanks for viewing the videos.

Question. Now that all the “core sets” have been reprinted in new format it’s safe to say that Konami will never reprint any older set in the “classic card format”. Do you think all the reprints that are pre-25th will be worth more? Is it safe to say that there will never be a re-print of MFC in classic format?
to me the hobby league cards r old and really undervalued. legality was a issue for sure to the value but overall like piece to any collection for sure

If hl cards were legal in tournament play they would be worth a whole lot more. As it is, most people will only play them in goat format.
That's false, they are tournament legal but have to be double sleeved in the deck to not be distinguished in the deck

I've been trying to sell my own HL1 cards for a while now, nobody seems interested.
Graceful Charity's HL04 print is the card's best-looking TCG print IMO, not the LCYW Secret. I'm also rocking an HL05 Scapegoat in my playset of that one, but the LCJW Secret and TAMA CR are really sharp too.
Not a fan of these. But how annoying is it the gadgets arnt the same foiling.
