  • After a crash in 2018, the Tilton Interiors Evo team built a whole new Pro Class Evo, Version 2.0. The aim of the car ultimately is to head to Japan to break some records and hearts, but in the mean time, they entered World Time Attack Challenge 2019, and e were there to document how it went down.

      @@jethrox827 No idea, I heard that the owner retired it after its second time around at WTAC, apparently people have made offers on the car but the owner is not intrested in selling.

    Not much left of it is an evo. Not hating but just crazy how far we have to go on a stock car make it go super fast.

      That's just the level they've come to in unlimited class. Maybe pro-am is more up your alley

      I’m pretty sure time attack cars are running street tires (dot). If they went full slicks they could probably drop another 2-3 seconds

      The potato Party pooper Most likely two reasons, weight distribution and removing clutter from the engine bay. It is run off the driveshaft via a belt.

    Does anyone know of a quicker race car series than Pro class TA ? These times are only about 10 seconds from F1 speed.

      Time attack cars seem to be quicker than formula two and a bit quicker than formula three cars as well. A1 was slightly faster and F1 is faster for sure. I suspect that LMP2 and certainly LMP1 are faster. Yet these race cars are backed by massive companies and development costs are huge. However, they have much stricter rules to follow in terms of engines, aerodynamics, weight, ... A big advantage these cars have is slick tires, whereas time attack cars race on semis.
      Overall, I think the pro class in time attack represents the maximum that is able to be achieved starting from a production car and using semi slicks, within a "reasonable" budget.

      It's almost certainly Nomex honeycomb with carbon bonded over it. That's a common construction technique for composite panels.
