- The NBA's first significant in-season trade is done, with OG Anunoby headed from the north to The Big Apple, and Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett going the other way.
Anunoby may have been the best player involved in the deal, but this trade has the potential to be a win-win for the Knicks and Raptors.

I've always been an RJ Believer. I'm sure he's gonna take another step in Toronto, becoming more consistent. A change of scenery often helps guys, we've seen that time and time again. Sending him home again, into a familiar environment, can only have positive effects.
doubt it. we’ve had a 3 year sample of RN barrett and we know what he is capable of as a player. sure he’ll be more efficient but we know he’s a rim running low assist, 3 point volume shooter.
feel like IQ was the better piece in this trade than RJ
Prepare to be disappointed. He will give you a couple great games but way more mediocre performances.
@@TheAnbuGamer IQ definitely is the more valuable piece, especially if he can keep up his production with getting a greater role. But I think RJ isn't all done yet either. He isn't gonna become a Superstar anymore, but a few All-Stars are easily achievable even for him.

quickley trade is exciting part with this as we suffered due to OG's poor shooting selections at times nycknicks could utilise him smartly to help brunson

og is good but he's taking this team from a possible 45 wins and a first round exit to a possible 50 wins and a second round exit, a slight win for the team but not a needle mover, either og needs to create more of his shots or jb needs to become a better passer cause ny is not beating any contenders in a playoff matchup
brunson averages 6+ assists though

Why does everyone keep saying they're a 1st round exit? They literally went to the 2nd round last year. Also Brunson had 14 and 13 assists in the 2 games since the trade. Clearly he can do it I just don't think RJ was the right piece
L take in my opinion. they made it to the 2nd round last year, and just adding more defense can bring them far. if they can get Dejounte Murray and a nice bench pg, i can see them making the ecf. just my opinion though.
As someone who follows the Knicks, OG definitely makes this team better. The Knicks almost forced a game 7 in last playoffs with Randle playing injured and having inconsistent 3pt shooting. Adding OG and DDV makes the 3pt shooting more consistent and the defense better. Also don't discount the development of Hartenstein as a versatile big who is a tough defender and gives you options on offense as well.
Both of them are the winners.
The playoffs are the real test for both of them, we will see 👀.
Raptors have to climb out of the hole they made first though, and playoffs may not be in the cards given they will be trading Siakam according to Shams. Lucky for them the Nets have been in a free fall and the Hawks and Bulls still stink, so play-in is more realistic

Is it really? Knicks, imo, probably just evened out as before. You got much better on defense, but now your offense took a hit, less options, and now more predictable. Your bench hasnt improved as well, maybe even now became a liability w precious' inconsistency. If this team was an 8/10 before, now its an 8.5.
Yea but its easier to find a scorer off the bench imo and Im a Raptors fan. OG is a very unique player. Elite defender who can guard literally every position and is a great 3pt shooter.

IDGAF about the tlk. knicks in the playoffs with rj gone and pieces that actually fit. iq is ok. but that's it, ok. he will be missed for a lil while but that's thibbs fault. he should've been playing deuce more, now u need him. iq will be made up for in a few games. the team looks different when og is on the court. that's instant impact! if raptors get good enough to make it out the play in this yr 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 to them. 🤷🏿♂️. all i care about is what we got.

I totally dont underatand how can this be a win win. Unless you are unreasonably overrating OG who is also by the way, just a rental... to me og = quickley.... then you got a barrett and an early second rounder....achiuwa and flynn are a dime a dozen type roster fillers. Interchangeable with good gleague players. OG is basically just a 3 & D guy who has NO championship experience (injured during '19 title run) in case knicks are banking on his "championship pedigree".
OG doesn't equal Quickley. OG at the moment of the the best defenders in league. Around OG can make a new team.
You don’t seem to understand 1) As stated in the video, OG is not a rental, he’s re-signing without much debate 2) Quickley was never signing an extension in NY, $30M for a backup PG makes no sense, and 3) RJ has been such a negative asset for the Knicks this season, his fit with Randle and Brunson sucked, and he cost them many games this year, particularly the two they lost prior to trading for OG vs OKC and Orlando.
