That lady was so sweet...I like ppl like her she makes you feel comfortable.
You have locks in your hair?
I was thinking the same thing. I just want her to wash my hair and talk with me about something deep.
I thought the same. I just want her to wash my hair with her beautiful hands! She’s very sweet!
And she educates you!!
Right
When she said moisturizing and hydrating is 2 different things I knew SHE knew what she was talking about. She earned my subscribe 8/16/2019
She is knowledgeable!
I swear I thought the same thing
Sis definitely knows her stuff. I thought she was stumped when they asked her what's the difference between the red and the green but she handled that, lol.
Correct me if i'm wrong. Moisturizing = Adding additional Moisture. Hydrating = Dry hair recieving needed water?
Say it again 💯💯💯🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽💙
I'm whiter than a sheet of printer paper but I'm obsessed with these videos! It's so cool to see the haircare for other hair types
To clarify (seven months later): this isn't at all in the name of cultural appropriation or anything like that. I learned something about someone else's experience and that's all I wanted to say. This video educated me about something I grew up having no clue about! I'm greatful for the person that put this video up for that reason.
Abigail lmao🤣
We love you Abigail!!! God bless you.
S a m e! I wanna learn everything there is to learn about twisting, cleaning, and retwisting locs. Theyre so beautiful
@@cheddarcedar right!! Growing up my mom used to say that dreadlocs were dirty and gross, I feel like the more I learn about them the more I disagree. Like shit, why be so quick to judge when you could learn about a new thing?
Abigail same here haha. P.s. my name is Abigail also (but I mostly go by abi)
That stylist is excellent I could hear her talk about hair all day. She is like the doctor of natural hair.
I love your loctician 🙌🏾. She is very knowledgeable and understands how hair should react with different products.
Loc'd In Fitness I was thinking the same thing!
Lol one would swear that this was your loctician's video, she was free and fun to watch. I loved the simplicity of your style at the end, some locticians do too much.
I live in England but if I had locs I would definitely travel to this lady !!! Nice to hear someone talking so knowledgeable xxx
Her retwist is so gentle!!! You can tell she cares about the health of her clients hair
Ylandrea Hudson She’s also tender headed. Us tender headed folk know how to be gentle with others cause we know how it feels 😆
Experienced hands.
CHRISTIAN BENSON I was tender headed as a child. My mom changed that REAL QUICK.
The lady getting her locks soaked is so beautiful.

She is! She has a very pretty face. Also her makeup is on point
Yeh
It’s the “once I realized I didn’t care what people thought of me, it freed me” I love that she said that. 💙💙💙💙💙
Who is she? Where is she? I want her to do my locs. She is the truth. Very knowledgeable.
L Jackson hi. I’m in Orlando. IG:Shakakanhairstudio 😊. Thank you.
My name is Shakakan
The Real Shakakan I live in Miami, bouttaaaa take that drive 🤣
I know right!!!! Best video on CZcams EVER!!!!! Hands down
@@therealshakakan1103 I loved this video!!!! I live in Orlando, and I am considering getting locs. I am natural, and a TRUE 4c, and would like to know if you have any advice on how to start this journey.
The hairdresser needs a channel so I can get more educated. Lol.

@@laurahughes1093 You're the REAL MVP!!!
Sxd Pxytxn the information I came for!! Thank you! 🙌🏾
She’s so knowledgeable!
Right! I was gonna say thank you for this
she rolls those locks so effortlessly and quick. you can tell she has MUCH practice and many heads under her.
When she was doing her locks and just educating her on moisture and hydration, it felt so therapeutic to just listen and hear someone with so much knowledge talk about hair care.
I remember our Mac days girl! Miss you! 😭❤️
What the, why are you here
and I oop- lmaooo
AHHHHH!!! ITS PATRICK STARRR!!! How cool
Like when PatrickStarrr comments on your video 🤯😍😍😍😍😍
PatrickStarrr omg whatttt
You can tell when a stylist loves what she does vs. the one's that simply want your money.
I love the way the AVC works. Please tell me what the powder was and what ACV it was
@@kautharfatuma211 I think they use baking soda

shes so informative!!
This was in my recommended. I’m white but 🤷🏼♀️ this is still so interesting.
Black women have such beautiful hair and I’m so glad so many aren’t relaxing it anymore. God made your hair just like it is, It’s stunning.
Thank you 🤗
Reese Witherfork , thank you. I feel that your comment is genuine, and that is refreshing because most are not. I appreciate you, your a good person.
It's just hair chill fam
@@ariagrayson but it is natural hair not stinky weave creamy crack lol😆
Even im asian, its usefull
Never have I had a hair stylist give me so much advice sitting in their chair! She rocks!
I don’t even have locs but I found this video enjoying to watch ❤️
Edit: WOW thanks for the likes guys
Libby Louwho girl me too

Me too
Agreed
Me too! Such a great video!
DAMN i wish every hair stylist will educate their customers on how to take care of their hair
❤️BLESS HER❤️
“When I didn’t care what people thought of me it freed me”
Oh my word you have no idea how true that is.
Man her hair is gorgeous. I’m so glad that black women are embracing their hair and not relaxing and doing whatever they want with it. Wether it be twists, natural, dreads, braids, corn rows, whatever. It’s so amazing to see that they don’t care about what people think about their hair and doing what they want with it. It’s awesome.
Facts
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
"When I started not to care what people think it FREE'D me!!!!!" Awww man how that blessed my soul....I revealed my locs for the first time today after wearing my wigs and I feel so free and beautiful !!!!!
Tamiera Hobdy ❤️❤️
Why would people even cover them...I don't get it
I can relate to that statement too. We all have to stop caring what people think and just live our lives.
“When I didn’t care what people thought of me.... IT FREED ME!” I love that statement 😍
My locs were as thick as hers but not that long. After going home(Jamaica) for Christmas and this girl interlock my hair. I was surprised at the length and how small she was able to get them after pulling in the access hair. When she washed it man that was life changing. I learnt a lot. Glad that our black women are appreciating their hair and skin more. Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing and always. Love the skin that you are in.
I'm always so impressed whenever I see someone doing something complicated with bomb-ass nails on. How you ladies doin that. I can barely do up my fly.
There's nothing complicated about retwisting... 😂
I don't have locs but watching this was soooooo educational.😍
I’m real life in love with your stylist, she’s really the truth and you can tell that she really knows her stuff 💓
I searched for this video tonight, as It was time for me to detox my locs. The water was disgusting but I’m so glad I did this. My hair feels and looks so good. Working out everyday, dust and debris and buildup was peeking thru and I had to do something about it. With the salons being closed, this video was just what I needed. Thanks for sharing.
My asian ass here watching this knowing I’ll never be able to have locs😭 but I’m honestly impress by the lady, she was so sweet and like her mind, wow!!!
You can get loc’s trust
Same I'm so pale and have light really straight slippery hair. Locs just wouldn't look as nice as with dark curly hair although I think their so pretty and want them so bad.
I feel you haha so pretty though
Annette Von Schloesser You can get locs! Look at Hippie Buddha on CZcams. It will blow your mind
@@creamekay no!
Legit, I'm a white girl but I know so much about afro hair care. I can't stop watching these videos. Absolutely fascinated by everything!
Right? When am I going to use these skills? Probably never, do I need to know all things? Yes.
You are black honey ! 😊you’re just a couple of shades lighter 😂

Wearing your hair how YOU want is freeing; Whether it be permed, flat ironed, weaved, wigged, or loc'd.💯
I hear you, I do, but once we start working with our hair as it naturally grows out of our head (free from straightening our hair chemically) wearing synthetic wigs, weaves, etc. that to me, is the ultimate. I cut off all of my hair in 1999 and have never had fake hair, wigs, etc. I started getting relaxers when I was 15. In 1999, I moved abroad and cut it off as I did not trust that non-Black Americans would be great touching my hair. Been natural since 1999 and I cannot imagine relaxing my beautiful mane of hair now. I get compliments on it everyday but even if I didn't have those compliments it's all good because I'm no longer wasting time and money on being something I'm not.
@@j.flaner8506 everybody is entitled to the ultimate. Because the ultimate for one might not be the ultimate for another. But one ultimate is not greater than the other especially when it comes to express oneself. As long as it aint killing or harming anyone.
YESSS
JessikaEmerald wigs and weaves can be used as a protective styling. Natural hair is hard to manage hence why a lot of women go to protective styles
@JessikaEmerald you try managing natural hair then. Like the previous commentator said wigs, weaves, braids, dreadlocks can be used as protective hair styles for natural hair.
She is a wonderful stylist. So friendly and knowledgeable.
The love that the stylist has for hair is beautifully obvious. I love how she goes into depth & provides information on hair. I love her love for healthy hair 😍
She is so pretty, and her locks enhance that.
This whole comment section is soooo wholesome :DD
I dont even have locs but she just taught me so much about my hair I didn't know. Just changed my whole life rn
To this day I still remember and use her tips about moisturizing/hydrating and putting an oil protectant on my hair. It really has helped so much!
The stylist AND the client are both sooooo pretty jeeeeez
Watched twice just because the positive energy is real and I'm coming up on my 2nd year locversary 🥳🥳🥳
Wow you can feel the passion the hairstylist has for what she does ❤️🥺
what kind of sorcery is thisssss? I'm in love. That is pure love and talent.
Veronica Cornavaca it’s not sorcery tf
Your stylist was very informative and knowledgeable! I hope to find me stylist like her one day!
3 words: BEAUTIFUL BLACK WOMEN
Yes, I went to a dermatologist as well after finding a bald spot on the top of my head, they took a biopsy and it came back 'chemical burn" I was told to stop perming or relaxing my hair, that was almost ten years now and I have been natural every since and loving it.
Did the bald spot ever grow back? I have the same but the hair won't grow back 😌
@@kimberlyharris-lakes9186, NO! I have been using onion and ginger oil receipt to my scalp and bald spot for about a month and it seems to be working, will continue to use it until June, giving it six months to see if it helps.
The way she took care of your locs and the gentleness of her retwist was beautiful! If I found a loctician like her, I'd never let her go lmao you can tell she loves what she does.
This sister is astoundingly beautiful. I love my people
Its amazing to see loc care treated like a fine art. I don't have this kind of hair texture (super fine & straight) so I never quite understood the various treatment and regime options, but your loctician really broke everything down. Incredible!
I love these kind of videos. They’re so relaxing to watch. I love learning about styling different hair types. I, on the other hand, have hair that is ridiculously straight, so I must live vicariously through all of you!
This woman teaches learning to embrace who you are...that is real beauty....and the girl getting her locs is stunningly gorgeous
That’s the reaction you get when adding ACV to Baking soda. You can unclog some sink drains with that combo as well.
Yep
What is acv?
Black don't crack Apple Cider Vinegar
Black don't crack - apple cider vinegar
That happens with white vinegar too
My hair and skin are now hydrated just from watching this clip.
This video just made me feel even better about my loc journey and the confidence I’ve been gaining from it. Thank you!!
Your Loctitian is awesome! I love how knowledgeable she is and her willingness to share that information.
This video made be a new subbie ! It was just something about your stylist ! The statement when she said that her locs “ FREED HER” that was everything ! It’s so important to have self love , and it’s important to to life boldly with your uniqueness and unapologetically!
i don’t have locs but the positivity and the knowledge is what i needed from this video❤️
What she is saying about the bubbles penetrating reminds me of the techniques used in colonial laundry techniques. It's why they literally beat the clothes is to push the water through the clothes to clean. Same with boiling clothes, the bubbling of water with lye forced it through the clothes. Very cool. Science applied in it's many ways.
This felt like a documentary of some sort. I loved it!
Loved this; esp. part where she says "when I realized I didn't care about what ppl thought of me; it freed me❤"❤❤❤👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
I love how informative the stylist was she really gave allot of insight and information on hair it was just wonderful listening to her talk about hair
Like others have said, I'll never have locks either, but I could watch your hair stylist clean and talk about hair all day. I love how others were asking questions too!
Your hair is beautiful!
Doing hair is such an art to me, she did it so easily and perfect 🤩 you can tell she loves her job!
If I had locs I would wear them with confidence no matter what stage they are in. Your locs are thriving and your loc specialist is amazing! 💙
This video is everything. The energy, the education, the fun, and encouragement.
This woman is a hair goddess! I love the knowledge she's dropping!
I love everything about this video! Your loctician is so considerate of your hair.
That was a very therapeutic and relaxing process. Like how she specialized in your locs! Beautiful healthy locs! I want some when I come out of my protective styles. (Hint)
I love the patience in her teaching I learned a lot from this video alone... Thank you for posting
The knowledge she has is very impressive! I started off looking for loc combining and ended up with some great hair health knowledge!!
I dont even have locs but ive learned so much about natural hair and you are beautifully positive and empowering...i must subscribe
Loved this video! She is pouring all her years of experience as a professional and as a person and you just gotta take in all that good stuff.
I enjoyed the convo!
I also liked that it was stated "people get loc'd for different reasons." This is so true. I'm currently letting my hair loc again for the 2nd time. As a wife, new mom & self employed Barber-Stylist I hardly have the time or energy for protective styles. I realized that I've done nothing more that sleek ponytails & puffs in the last 2months or so & I'm ashamed 🤦🏾♀️. Round 2 💪🏾🔒
Watching 4 years later and it's still gold! Thank you.
I've got serious loc envy, lol. Thanks for this video,I've seen sooooo many acv+baking soda rinses & none of them showed me the correct way. This method makes alot of sense.
1st Lady Keesh same here! Can’t wait to get locs again
Crazy I went natural for the same reason!! The dermatologist was like yea them perms ain’t for you lol and she’s 100% right about not having to conform. I will add that I never got locs at first because of the stereotype they hold (Rasta, Afrocentric etc) I felt I was none of those things so I didn’t get them. When I realized I could still be “me” with locs, I ran with it! You helped me to realize that as well ❤️❤️
You can still be you??
What is Rasta and Afrocentric? Is that like a stained glass or a tainted water? What type of stereotype is that?
Not to mention how much hair products cost. That alone could run in the hundreds bi-monthly.
I’m 39 and just left my hair natural like I was when I was a kid. Locs still need too much to maintain. I just keep mine short and natural curls, because I’m mixed they are easier to maintain. I’m too old and my husband Ives me as is.
JessikaEmerald no, they will not. Please stop spreading misinformation. Only black people and people of African descent can have locs. Locs are NOT uncombed matted hair. Our hair’s corkscrew shaped cuticle is what allows us to have locs. No other races’ hair cuticle can do that. That’s why white people do silly shit like back combing and literally ripping their cuticles to make their twists stay together.
Damn she’s so good. Felt like I was getting my hair done
WOW im in awe of the knowledge of the loctician and the beauty of your locs 😍😍😍
Great lesson about Locs. Thxs for sharing. She really cares about her customers.
Holy hell the client is freaking GORGEOUS! So much interesting info in this vid!
I like how knowledgeable she was and willing to answer all questions. We need more techs like her.
Now this sista knows what she's talking about with natural hair! I love meeting stylist/hair specialists like this because I'll ask questions & put notes in my phone! Hahahaa
I love how she took her time doing your hair
I must say you came correct with that face beat. I did an acid wash on my male friend. He was a whole new man once completed. Blessings to you both.
Your locs are beautiful! I'm absolutely mesmerized by the process, but it's so nice to have the narrative. I'm a teacher - I strive to understand my kids and their hair is a big part of their identities. This is wonderful! Thank you!
What a relaxing and informative detox and retwist video. I would love to find someone as gentle with retwisting my locs as she is with yours. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
i learned so much about hair porosity and other things in this video, amazing stylist!!!!
Your hair is gorgeous...and thanks to the loctician for dropping that knowledge. I am sisterlocked . She is right about the relaxer turn up the scalp cuz I am very tender headed and I don't care what people think. Being loc'd is the best decision I have made
I never realized how intensive the process for locs is. Thank you for sharing and your hair looks amazing!
Beautiful! I love seeing women of color with hair like this! I always want to throw compliments when I see them because they just look so powerful, so confident. I love it!
See this is what I should've done when I started out. I just took my locks out after 3 years of having them. My hair grew a lot, but the foundation was still weaker than it should've been. I may try again in a few years, who knows. Yours are gorgeous 😍
Wish that my cosmetology school went into this much detail about hair.
Love this 💜 thank you for sharing!
I got randomly recommended this channel but the lady getting her hair washed is a certified cutie.
Your locs are beautiful! And your loctitions words of wisdom are refreshing. Peace and many blessings ❤🙏🏽
That was fun to watch!
Hair stylist is full of knowledge and she is cute too!
You should be teaching large classes of people. Off the chart talent. Full of information. Great job! Loved it!
That's some serious black girl magic. I wish my locs looked like that.
Omg the hair stylists would be a amazing speaker to young ethic women about the natural beauty of hair . Definitely wish I had someone dropping knowledge like this to me when I was younger
That's how I got started on my natural journey as well, my dermatologist said the relaxer was causing serious damage to my scalp. From there I transitioned to locs. Loved this video! Wished I lived in Orlando near your stylist!
I love the energy of the woman who does your hair and your hair looks soo good it worked out verry wel!
Gorgeous! I’m Latino and have started leaving my hair naturally curly for a year now after 20 years of straightening. Natural hair is beautiful and these locs are everything. That hairstylist is a hair goddess! 💕
I love your stylist!! She really makes me feel happy and proud!💪🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😭👏🏾
The client has a very pretty face. Love braids. Stylist seems ver knowlegeable and confident in her work. Love seeing all that dirt come out of the hair. Excellent video! 🙌
