I used work in building conservation in Ireland. Whenever a building project stalled or dragged on I would always refer to the project as being as hopeless as Petrocelli's house. Nobody understood the cultural reference or had seen the tv series. Philistines!
I know exactly what you mean..Ha Ha. Full time lawyer, fighting crime and risking his life fighting the baddies. And at the end of each day, drive out into the desert in the blistering heat to mix mortar and lay bricks on his self build house.

It's one of those rare movies you can watch repeatedly and still enjoy it. I think it's because the dialogue is kept to a minimum.
