wow Where The Hell Has This Majestic Anthem Been Hiding. Remember This Like It Was Only Yesterday. These Genius Guys Have Given Us All So Many Classics And This Is Belting Example Of Their Instrumental And Vocal Genius. Thank You For This Unbelievable Memory.
Except maybe Lindisfarne's 'Same Way Down', which was released 2 years later on the album 'Sleepless Nights' - and is blatantly derivative of this classic.
Glenn doesn't play like anybody else! I remember when this thing came out and there was only a couple of CDs or eight tracks that ever got out of my player and that was this one here and the cars!
Brings back so many memories in high school. Wonderful. Turns out I never did hear those lyrics correctly or even close! But you know what? For me, it really doesn't matter, because the meaning for me comes from their performance. Cheers from Tokyo! "In the park, where the animal's found, i love to sit in the caaaaart" That's about how I remember singing along with this song! Lol
Love Squeeze, still do, 50 years later, but it STILL 4cking annoys me that bands weren’t allowed to play live, this is a perfect depiction of Tilbrook with a stratocaster NOT EVEN plugged in !! They’re fucking GREAT LIVE TOO
See them at Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone few years back & brilliant… even more was that they were supported by Heaven 17… what a night that was !!!😃😃🎼🎼🎼
One of the best pop songs of the past 30 years, no question. The melody is so goddamn good it hurts, and the solo is amazingly tasteful. Also, very impressive they could get those tones in that performance without even plugging their guitars into their amps! ;) And, to Foghat1961, there are numerous tutorials on here for the guitar solo. Search before asking a silly question. Thanks for posting the video!
That stupid old bug that kills only love I want to be good, is that not enough? So play me the song that makes it so tough Another nail for my heart Then play me the song that makes it so tough Another nail for my heart
Hi Kev, I'm probably late telling you this, but the original video is on the channel, "SqueezeVEVO". It currently has 2.4M views, but IMO it should have 2.4Billion views!
Just perfection.
No need for bells and whistles. Just Glenn Tilbrook looking into the camera and singing this wonderful song.
This may be the best song ever written
Tilbrook and Difford really were a brilliant combination - great songs and lyrics
Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook voices together = absolute perfection
I agree. They go together so well
I haven't heard this song in about 30 years I forgot how great squeeze was.
wow Where The Hell Has This Majestic Anthem Been Hiding.

How could you not love them? They were brilliant.
Saw them last year, 2022. They still are brilliant 🙂
Totally agree
Lovely.... Great guitar solo...
In my all-time Top 10. Nothing else sounded quite like this.
Except maybe Lindisfarne's 'Same Way Down', which was released 2 years later on the album 'Sleepless Nights' - and is blatantly derivative of this classic.
I love Squeeze and Fantastic drumming by Gilson Lavis.
Beast of a drummer! Love him.
These boys have got it going on👍👍👍👍⚽😜
Great Group 👏
iconic band ingrained in my whole persona.... they were unique talented and still sound great today.
Not a massive squeeze fan , but for some reason I proper love this tune XX
Glenn doesn't play like anybody else! I remember when this thing came out and there was only a couple of CDs or eight tracks that ever got out of my player and that was this one here and the cars!
"So play me the song that makes it so tough
Another nail for my heart"
this song kicks ass! I always loved it! a truly underrated band!
Four years, zero dislikes
great songs never die
4 years after the 1st 4, 2 dislikes surface. Still a good measure of likes to dislike ratio.
@@ChrisConnolly-Mr.C-Dives-In unbelievable ratio
one of my favorite bands of all time. squeeze head class
Glenn was an under-rated guitarist. Great chops!
Still is!
Still is saw them at NJPAC a few years ago....fantastic musicians...God bless Glen and Chris and of course the band...😊😊

How could you not live glen tilbrooks guitar playing? Such a underrated player
They weren't the Beatles but they made some fine singles
andrewallen...I know I'm going to upset you but...BETTER THAN THE BEATLES !!
Just because the Beatles were FIRST, doesn't make them BEST !!
See them at Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone few years back & brilliant… even more was that they were supported by Heaven 17… what a night that was !!!😃😃🎼🎼🎼

Man, it was very tasteful! There wasn't a wasted note anywhere!

In 69 years old this is one of my favorite bands but this is a record this is not live
Great solo Glenn..................
Spot on
!Espectacular canción y el solo de guitarra de Glenn Tilbrook ( a partir del segundo 0:50), sencillamente genial!
You know Jools was furious there were no shots of him in the whole video 😅
I was just wondering, where was the piano man? 😂
Argybargy is my fav album from Squeeze!

Great memories, this was good times in my shitty life.

Why doesn't somebody do a lesson for this killer guitar solo?
That stupid old bug that kills only love
I want to be good, is that not enough?
So play me the song that makes it so tough
Another nail for my heart
Then play me the song that makes it so tough
Another nail for my heart
Un real❤
It's unfortunate that that the show required the artists to lip synch because they're just as good live.
Amen!
The original video is nowhere to be found. They must have struck a deal with Fender. In the original video the guitar was a Yamaha sg.
