It is not humiliating to have bastards. Cat said specifically in GoT that it was expected. Her problem was the fact that Ned brought Jon to Winterfell.

I found it inexcusable for an experienced dragon & rider to fly so low over the castle only to be ambushed by Vhagar from below from the cliff beyond the castle. A young, inexperienced rider like Jace, sure, but not Rhaenys & her dragon. She should not have let herself get caught so easily. Poor tactics.
