I work as a paramedic with a fire department in a large city. This scene was one of the most realistic gunshot wound scenes I’ve seen. Exposing the wound, covering it with a occlusive dressing and lifting the patient with the backboard is spot on. Once they get the patient into the ambulance, you can see Sean Penn starting a 14 gauge IV which is what we would do. They listened to lung sounds, and they noticed tracheal deviation and his lung collapsed so they drop a chest needle. They definitely did their homework on this movie.
I noticed that as well. The environment is pretty legit.
The domestic scene where the guy lied and said she “fell” so the cops wouldn’t show up. I’ve ran into those a time or two.
I work as an emt for the fdny as well. This is one of the most realistic scene of a shooting depicted in a movie. From the bystander crowd yelling at you, to the more experienced emt yelling at the rookie to hurry tf up.
Intense. Gritty. Raw.
I work ems for fdny, usually we dont even have pd or additional units to spread out. Sometimes its multiple patients at once all by yourself for atleast 10 minutes
This movie reminds me of Colors the paramedic version but this time Sean Penn is the Veteran not the rookie
Ambulance Training Day
This is actually the most realistic depiction of my time on the rig I had one big mass shooting in Northern California and this scene was so real I actually was on the brink of leaving the theatre because of how much stress it induced on me
