Just imagine dedicating your life on studying science and finally getting a good scientist job just to get shot.
Life well spent
What a waste. These people are worth millions just for their knowledge and experience.
Imagine achieving all that just to be activated by the CIA black ops mandate. "Oh well, I guess I have to kill everyone now...."
They were given a shot if you know what I mean.
Imagine being made for 9 months, then being born, going through 30 years of life just to have your organs get destroyed by a 9mm
The lack of any background music makes this scene so much more chilling.

The Game Arcxxxxx
I can't wait for a good movie with NO G.DAMNED MUSIC! And I love music, sometimes even in movies.
This is true. It's kind of eerie.
True
Very well done scene. Shooter stopped to reload multiple times, and people's reactions to being shot were very realistic.
nah. just research
GreenCR21 Agreed, lol in some films, there's like 100 bullets in a pistol. lol they never reload !
how many times have you seen a shooting irl
I would say to stop talking out of your ass, but these days, it's realistic to think anyone would've seen people shot anymore.
NamiRocket I'm sorry for your bad english
The reactions from all the characters makes this scene so damn effective. I especially think the panic and desperation of the scientist and security trying to get into the room adds loads to that end.
BRBeverage o k
So crazy 😂😂
Not
This wasn't the best Bourne movie by any means, but this scene is very well done. It shows the fear and desperation of these lab workers and security guards. This guy was nothin but a killer spook.
ابراهیم
It also provides that Rachel's character is in jeopardy and later on in the movie when a number of rogue operatives show up at her house.
+Dat Scout R u kidding me? This scene made no goshdarn sense! I did indeed see the movie. Maybe he was insane or something, and yes they certainly wanted the program to "burn to the ground", but it just came out of nowhere, and the guy decides to make a scene while doing it. If they wanted to kill the scientists, couldn't they have just hired a real skilled assassin to do the work when they aren't at home? Plus, the guy was literally gunning down everybody, and with little sense or not, he has all the bullets. That makes me wonder why he is so slow to let Marta Shearing alive. "Oh no! My scientist pal who I've known for quite awhile goes berserk and I don't know why this is happening to me! *sobs*". Me neither, lady. This was such an unevenly paced scene.
+The FirstBourne He could have been caught if he killed them one-by-one. Best kill them all at once and yourself at the end so no information is forced out. Why is he slow to kill her? I wish I knew, but I assume he had a liking for her and didn't want to see her die.
Again...this scene just popped out of nowhere and was just placed there for no reason other than to get you scared for no reason. Then, after that completely useless scene, which for some reason people think is actually scary, the cliché scientist lady and not-Jason-Bourne fight those guys off in Renner's clearly worst role that year, ironically released with his best role in The Avengers, Hawkeye. Come to think of it, he should have dragged his bow and arrows into this movie, and I mean that gadgetized bow and those gadgetized arrows, and killed all those who stood in his way and become the bad guy. It wouldn't make the movie much better, but it sure makes for something that grabs your cash and allows it to make more darn money than it actually did. It made significantly less money than The darn Bourne Ultimatum!
This scene was awful, in exactly the way it was supposed to be. The initial shock, the horror of being stalked and the frustration of the guards who are unable to stop it. Expertly done, a scene that just sends chills up your spine
fr
Could you imagine watching and hearing people scream inside a room and you can't help them because the security that is suppose to keep things safe is the one preventing people from getting to safety.
Somebody should have thought to pull a fire alarm. Fire code demands that all doors unlock for free egress.
@@Akcd11r2002 wrong.
This scene was so disturbing in the cinema. Very well-done!

omg that scene felt so real....
why
I remember seeing this movie in the theater and there was a lot of people there and this scene was very violent and I just felt like there was this.....disturbed feeling in the audience or something
+JUKE ON YO GRAVE this scene was not stupid ... these egg heads are not trained combat professionals that were in the state of shock when that happened, it was very realistic.

To this day, I’m baffled that this scene didn’t earn the film an R rating.
Its not that bad
Why would it?
Not enough gore
Aidan O'Neill intense sequence of terror and violence. When you read some of these other comments here about how it was ‘intense’, ‘disturbing’, or that it ‘scared’ them or felt ‘real’, I think that would fit the bill. The scene was executed very well by Gilroy, but I just feel that it’s meant for a more mature audience.
skeng81, making something “intense” or “disturbing” is not enough for it to be rated R, it is determined by the intense Blood and Gore. If it is TRULY rated R every shot is fully shown (you actually see their heads getting shot), but that does not happen, it only shows us the gun firing and if it actually hits a person the camera cuts it out. Watch rated R violent shooting movies like John Wick and any other R movies to know what im talking about.
If you look closely the guy shot those people.
"DROP THE WEAPON... LAST CHANCE.... DROP IT"
I don't know man, it all sounds like a conspiracy to me.
good eye.
Had to rewatch this video a few more times to catch that.
Thanks I didn't notice.
Reading over the comments, I feel like people need to know...There is workplace training nowadays for what to do if there is a attack/shooter. Marta did the right thing. First step is always to try and escape. If you can't escape, hide. If you can't hide, or your hiding place isn't safe enough, barricade yourself somewhere the shooter can't get to you.
The last step is for if you can't do anything else, only then do they suggest confrontation and only in the manner of trying to get a bunch of people to attack the shooter all at once. It's more than likely a death sentence for at least some of the people so it's always only a LAST RESORT. A one to one attack is suicide unless you have previous training (like special forces) or a weapon of your own (like the cops/security).
Marta did exactly right.
What about during a reload?
sivonni They all should've rushed the SOB.
Grade schools do the same training
Noone should ever have to do that training. Lift your game America
Yeah, for some reason only in the United States even kindergarteners have "active shooter drills". So please add "only in the USA" after the word "nowadys".
im not too sure that cops in real life would be asking him to drop the weapon tbqh
i think they are security guards
Well they would , Becos their first priority is to cuff that dude . But if that joker points his gun at any cop, they will just shoot
Caleb Heng after killing numerous people in a pretty important location?
AFGuidesHD it's situational I guess .
AFGuidesHD If they have a chance to arrest without killing them they should attempt to do so. By asking him to drop the gun they could have prevented a death, but he didn't and was justly shot.
Police shouldn't be aiming to kill, especially out of revenge for the victims.
Fell asleep in the movies but this part woke me up, definitely shook me and still has me coming back till now
Yall acting like when ur in a shooting situation ur brain is gonna be thinking straight. When you are in a situation like this ur brain is in one mode. Survive. So it's not going to do anything but make you run and hide because thats an instict. It's very rare that someone will instinctly run to a gun or grab something. You need to be a little more calm to do that.
Basically. I used to have a job where people shot at us from time to time and at a certain point it goes from scary to annoying to pissing you off.
yall
Depends on training and conditioning. But 95% of the population would hide.
how many shooting situations have you been in if you don't mind me asking?
@@T--kq3pj yea, people who use contractions must be dumb, huh?

This scene was performed extremely well. I was just wondering why the shooter didn’t react when the security broke through the door
Or, for that matter, why nobody thought of hitting this guy while he was walking around at a snail's speed and taking his time to reload the gun.
Looks like he didn't shoot enough in House M.D
zombified by experimental drug.
Yeah, he was clearly programmed to kill liked a Manchurian candidate.
@d.adamson5769 effectively, he was brainwashed and ordered to purge all high-level researchers, including himself. When he couldn't finish priority one, he couldn't be captured, so he shot himself.
This scene scared the crap out of me when I was younger. Its Not the best Bourne movie, but this was a very well acted scene. And also scarily real.
One of the most bone-chilling scenes of the past 20 years from a Hollywood studio, hidden in a generic spy action movie (that the public mostly overlooked because the franchise lead actor was missing). And it managed to clear PG-13 standards
Honestly It's really ridiculous how this scene managed to pass as PG-13 lol. Depicting helpless people being murdered is a-okay as long as you don't show the blood and kill them offscreen. This scene is disturbing to watch as an adult let alone young teens. I'm all for making movies like Transformers PG-13. But some of these films are literally a case of passing via technicality. It's as if they used AI to censor films therefore removing common sense and logic from the equation.
I think this scene is captured so well especially when now a days this could happen anywhere at anytime, sad we live in this today.
In the US yes, not really in many countries, particularly asian countries.
Huh weird seeing you here Gibs😂
@@GadisBaliLivesAbroad Yeah in many of the Asian countries the government just kills you.
It doesn't happen in Asia with a gun, but there have been massacres (with a knife, a truck through a walkway, or arson)
@@gc3k yeah, you might not have to worry about dying in a mass shooting in China but I think that's made up for by the very real risk of the government kicking in your door to send you to "re-education centers" only to never be heard from again. It's a scary time to live in the US, but it's plenty scary in other countries around the world as well.
2:16 - They actually teach this in workplace active shooter training. Barricade yourself however you can, rather with a row of table or other means, sometimes an active shooter would not waste much time going into a barricaded room and would move on to easier targets.
2:40 - Also taught NOT to escape said safe place while an active shooting is still ongoing
Well in school they tell kids to hide under desk RIP sandy hooks

Yeah she was safe in there tbh
@@bangawa3441 They're told to hide in the blindspot side of the classroom and barricade the door.
1. Run if possible
2. Hide if possible
3. Fight as a last resort
What happened at Sandy Hook was that the teachers were not able to lock and secure their doors in time.
yeah that was dumb
this scene gives me the chill every time I watch it. It’s very real and authentic!
I work in a lab. If this event ever occurs to me, my weapon of choice (self defense) will be Hydrochloric Acid.
I used Hydrochloric acid in science classes when I was 11 yrs old, it wouldn’t do much to stop a determined shooter, besides irritating the skin and eyes if you managed to splash it accurately. Realistically speaking if you’re close enough to throw acid onto him, then you’re definitely close enough for him to accurately unload 9mm rounds into your body. I’d of thought you’d say Hydrofluoric acid, I’m no scientist but isn’t that the one criminals use in acid attacks or to torture people, meaning that would stand a better chance of incapacitating the gunman in quick succession, as it can melt straight though skin and bone in a matter of seconds.
Wrong, sulfuric acid is the one that will cause the most damage if thrown onto a person at any given time. It is sold, 99% of the time as a 95% concentrate or more. You don't work in a lab lmao
Michael Weng how far can you through the liquid HCl?
i am with ur thoughts...
Dylan Morgan ...Mutually agreed!
When a human being is not afraid of death, then he/she would be extremely dangerous
Strange cause I'm not afriad of dying, I know it's going to happen one day eventually......specially when I had my accident I literally stopped for a minute to think when I was aware what was happening around me & had some word exchanged with a trucker & all I wanted to do was call my mother to tell her I loved her. Honestly I was ready to die & even today 2 years later I am ready to die I am not afriad of it cause its going to happen to us all! you just don't know what day can't be afriad better get your mind to a comfort mode for the day that it happens you accept it & go in peace.
@@drinny23la4 I believe he was talking about people who are not afraid to take their own life or others,,, they are indeed extremely dangerous (ex. suicide bombers/jihadist)

Omg, expressions and frustrations on his face..
Work in a lab myself and yes our cold room doors have multiple layers of thick glass to help insulate the room, but I highly doubt it would resist a bullet, let alone multiple point blank impacts. IRL she'd be dead, otherwise what a tense scene. Really well done.
There are multiple things that can factor into why it didn't penetrate. What caliber was he using? What ammunition type was he using? How good is the quality of the ammunition along with how much grain is there. Not to mention the fact he was also shooting at an angle which makes it much harder for the bullet to penetrate. Angles make objects thicker than they are supposed to be. Maybe the glass they use is different. Facts aren't clear. Sure, it's just a movie but there are things to consider rather than just saying, "this doesn't work."
💊💵
Shooter several seconds to reload. Considering the guy's inability to move faster than the speed of a sloth, I'd say these lab workers should've charged the guy while he was reloading.
Thanks drill instructor. I'm sure you would've fared just fine in a real life situation. >_>
most people tend to freeze in real life. or freak out. only sociopaths or the really well trained fare well. ironically, sociopaths are somehow viewed as defective in non emergency situations.

Dude reloaded with an empty mag.
Excellent making
I like how they don't charge him when he stops to reload. And she doesn't attempt to grab the gun when she knocks it out of his hand.
Would you? No, really, would you? The only way to be sure is if you already went through a similar situation. I'd like to think I would keep a cool head and take advantage of any chances but I can't be sure until it really happens.
@@moteroargentino7944 Great question. Many years ago, I got caught in a really bad thunderstorm on the highway. The rain was coming down so hard that I had to pull off to the side of the road. Before I knew it, a tornado was coming across the road and almost bearing down on me. Without thinking, my first reaction was to back away, and fortunately or unfortunately I backed into a ditch. Thankfully I was fine, and my car wasn't damaged. *But I learned that it's VERY EASY to criticize how ppl react in a crazy situation in a movie until you've actually been in a crazy, unthinkable situation yourself.* Ppl think you have time to think things through. But no, when your life is on the line and you're facing imminent death, you can't really predict how you'll act in most situations.

and people say is to scary for PG-13
Zeljko Ivanek plays his part very well, the creepy, unemotional approach to his given assignment. Spot him in Madam Secretary too, he still looks creepy.
This is the guy that brought a gun to the hospital in 'House MD' right? I can see where he gets that habit from...
Loved this movie. Seemed so real than people just acting
Whenever ads play I just mute my phone for 15 seconds and stretch. CZcams shouldn’t even have ads.
Luckily, the people closest to the shooter in the shooting I was in, instinctively reacted very fast (fight response). Everyone else ran or hid. The way people reacted was all over the place.
Disturbing scene it was played so well, so damn realistic
This scene is so real that make audiences can't breath
Scary cos it was all very slow and methodical. Added to the tension. Love this movie despite the low ratings.

The crazy old man was in an episode of House md and he played the same crazy old man. Hehe
@High Explosive Shell yep, that one.
He's also in the 1st season of 24
He literally played the same character in house lmao
Yeah, and house gave him back the gun so he could solve the mystery. It was one of those TV shows during the period when TV was switching from stuff like "Friends" and other sitcoms to shows like "The Wire" and "Breaking Bad". A great peice of television history, and very well done for it's time. Also, the idea of taking a standard "Law and Order" episode setup but switching it to a doctor solving a mystery illness, brilliant use of what is now considered a television trope.
Very well made !

this wasn't a good movie but this was definitely a good scene. seems fairly realistic for Hollywood and also is actually scary since shootings really do happen now a days. good acting
Easier said than done I know, but when they are locked in there like that with him and he is picking them off one by one they need to rush that guy together and take him down, no?
most people would react by running or hiding in that situation, as easy as it seems to rush him, most people dont think like that. Ive noticed most shootings where people rush the shooter tend to be former law enforcement, fightfighters, EMTs, or veterans.
Remember that its always faster to switch to your side arm rather than reload
Reminds me of that mad man in Sweden or Norway shooting up that youth camp...some just froze standing up with fear and he would walk up to the and blow a tunnel through their head....
