    Thanks again Nic. Just started using PPI, its a lot to take on but the RM team are helpful and once you get the hang its easy. I also invested in a Dymo Label writer, labels in a couple of seconds rather than waiting for my printer to warm up.

      Makes no difference, if he's registered as a business, unless he's using a virtual office type setup then his registered business address will be his home address, which anyone can find online by doing a company search anyway. The bit I disagree with here is him showing all his customer's addresses.

      well different bags for different class of mails. local post office staff do not like this as they don't get any revenue from ppi. their prices are not much different than personal account. the royal mail do not send mailing bags with that pack and you have to beg these bags from local post office. lost mails are not covered for insurance. overall still a better service than many other curiore companies.

      napoleon one I'm just starting out, so trying to get as many perspectives as possible. from what I'm reading/watching. it's seems anything up to a large letter or small parcel, then RM is the way to go. but larger and heavier than that. a curior service is far cheaper??

    Hi, great vid. I have an account and rather than the stamping on the parcels I get stickers made up which also include my return address, prolly works out a bit more than stamping them on though. Also as I'm not vat registered I use codes bpl and bpr which is I think 0.60 for large letter and 2.50 for parcel with no vat on top, but obviously I have to do each weight band as a seperate bag - good if all your items are in the same weight band. For signed for, I still have to get the items scanned in the post office.

    Hi please can you give details on how you send parcels to international locations such as the USA- what's the processes, steps and requirements to sending the parcels. And lastly how do you drop the parcels off at the post office and if there is more than one parcel to be delivered to the same location, how do you fill out the required forms (customs declaration I think) out? Sorry and thank you!

    • @NicHills
      @NicHills  Před 8 lety

      +Shaks K International is done the same way, just using the 1st class stamp and customer stickers provided by the Royal Mail. I drop off the parcels in sealed mail sacks at any post office or sorting office or you can have them collected from your home/office. Parcels to the same location?? just process them as normal - not sure I understand the question.... the customs forms are just a sticker that you fill in some basic info about cost - weight etc

      There's a rumour that they are doing away with handstamps at the end of this year. You can still get them made up at a small fee. Personally I use labels with a label printer. You just have to download your ppi stamp from the link they email you and then print the image off. You can also print onto standard paper and use sellotape. Labels are super fast and will work better on mailer bags but if you're using jiffys like Nic then handstamps work great

    • @DanJ237
      @DanJ237 Před 9 lety

      you stick a label on the package - record it in your log book and get the book date stamped, if there is an issue with the parcel you use the book as a record to make a claim - the items are not scanned into the system but are recorded at the point of delivery.

      The one I use was given away by the post office many years ago when they introduced the new sizing restrictions - use this link to see my 'tools of the trade' page on my website where there are lots of useful links to products including a size guide.

    Hi Nic, thanks for the tutorial!
    Could you please advise How do you print out the address for those orders? (if there are many orders and you don't want to handwrite them all, but have a regular printer only)
    Is there an easier way to do it? As we are going to purchase the postage on OBA.
    ( I used to buying postage from royal mail through eBay and print them on paper and cut out or print them directly on the paper envelope.)
    Thank you!

    Amazing video well done! I have just set up an account with RM and the account manager on the phone was really insisting to be using 2d labels(which are huge) instead of PPI stamps. She said that it is even required. Do you know anything about that?

    Hi Nic, Great video - we are currently using a franking machine for our mail so get some of the savings, but not all. Plus we have to still get out signed for stuff scanned in and documented like a normal customer. Question for you though - is there a difference between small, medium and large parcels in terms of how they are dealt with this way? Thanks

    • @NicHills
      @NicHills  Před 8 lety +1

      No, all my parcels are dealt with the same way and paid at the same rate, that is where I make the savings ;)

    I'm about to sign up with them and they said i'd have to print out the special able with my code for each package which i found a bit of putting. The way you do it is way better and so much less hassle.

    I opened one royal mail OBA. I just trial did for second class large stamp. It costs £0.63 plus vat £0.13 total will be £0.76. This is expensive than post office. In post office only £0.73 for second class large stamp. So what is the benefits by cost on OBA please?

      Royal Mail is cheaper for large letter size items - Hermes can be cheaper for parcels and everything goes tracked... if you have a business account with RM account then parcel prices are very similar...

    Another great video,thank you.I have a question actually regarding doing a listing on ebay if you could share please.Do you make just simple item listing,like simple item description only whatever is necessary or do you do it like all''fancy'',like nice looking,making long phrases to play on people's emotions etc?The reason I am asking is as over a year ago I tried selling on ebay for the first time and I followed some training,actually a few different ones and all of them were showing this beautiful descriptions,backgrounds etc I am just thinking now does it really help...does it really work or just simple way of doing it would be better...

    • @NicHills
      @NicHills  Před 7 lety

      It depends a bit on the item, if the item warrants a lot of description then I will do it but on the whole I keep it brief and to the point - let the pictures do the talking - on most items I copy my title into the description box and add some condition details and that is it.

    Awesome video this has really helped me understand how to use PPI. I'm ready to start doing this myself now I have everything I from Royal Mail. One question that this video doesn't answer (unless I missed it) If for example I do have some 2nd class signed for large letters or parcels I log these as a seperate order but do these signed for items go in the same sacks as none signed for large letters or parcels respectively or do they have their own sack?
    e.g.
    One sack with 2nd class large letters and signed for large letters mixed
    or
    Two sacks: One with normal 2nd class large letters and one with 2nd class signed for large letters?
    Cheers - James

    Hello I'm. thinking about starting to use PPI with royal mail. How much does this workout price wise compared to going in to the post office paying single prices. Does postage work out cheaper using ppi

    • @NicHills
      @NicHills  Před 9 lety

      jabjabgrab123 There are small savings on large letters and letters, but the big savings are on parcels as it is worked out on an average weight and the size/shape doesn't matter - so all my parcels cost me £2.50 regardless... the other benefit is how quick and easy it is... no standing around in the post office etc.
