Hello Patrick, most of us grew up listening to your voice in this region. When I was young, I used to think, who is this person with such a beautiful signature voice. Thank you kinitv for this video. I would like to add to what Patrick said - we should start seeing ourselves not only as Malaysians, but also as a member of the global citizen. We are all known as Human Beings as such we belong to the "Human Race". It is now time to learn about the "Human Being" by way of our ownselves, via the human faculty and then learn to live the right way with our own families, friends, society, nation and the whole wide world on a human level. This is where we should begin now. Thank you Patrick and kinitv.

Patrick, todate, I still hold you as the DJ with the best voice we had. We have to depend on the young Malaysians to help us champion the true cause of a multiracial, multireligious and multicultural Malaysia. We should be celebrating diversity instead of being made by such politicians who wanted to maintain the minds of a certain race at a level such that it could be exploited for their own political course and wealth. Honestly, with Malays as the majority of our county’s population ( about 75% ), I’ve no choice but to appeal to the young Malays to come out of the cocoon created by such politicians if they are rationale Malaysians and should reject the divisive ( win-loose ) policies instead of the inclusive ( win-win ) policies. Unless they are comfortable as “jaguh kampungs”, they will be laughed at when travelling abroad as Malaysia is the only country practicing “apartheid” in the world.
I just hope the country will not move to where we don’t want to see just as a well-travelled Malay gentleman said recently, the current politicians must be mindful and improve their behaviour in running the government and his warning to them is “it’s not change alone” that they have to worry.

No problem Sir. We, the Malay youths, also want the Chinese and Indian to be less prone in favoring the west or China simply because they have grudes against the Malays. Vernacular schools seem to be another problem if you ever wish for a more holistic integration. The Bumis' privileges enshrined in the constitution is far from being discriminatory not when it was AGREED by all back then. Don't get it confused to fit certain unnecessary agenda. The least we can do is... assimilate as to cast away doubt 😮

    • @leealex24

@@azmard4865 Get your facts right and don't spread lies here! This right is enshrined in the federal constitution which is the supreme law of the land. Freedom of religion is enshrined in the Malaysian Constitution. First, Article 11 provides that every person has the right to profess and to practice his or her religion and (subject to applicable laws restricting the propagation of other religions to Muslims[1]) to propagate it. Second, the Constitution also provides that Islam is the religion of the country but other religions may be practised in peace and harmony (Article 3). In short, any non-muslim (Including the bumi in Sabah/Sarawak) can practice, believe and propagate their culture/religion to another non-muslim and it's protected by constitution. It's a non issue and has been a non-issue for the past 60 years! In fact, Malaysia has always believed in the concept of "unity in diversity" whilst maintaining progressive/open-minded outlook.

@@azmard4865 Hi Mard, first no need to address me “sir”, just Lim will do, as we’re no more in British colonialism. Personally, I’m fortunate to have many true Malay friends growing up in my kampung. We go to each other’s house and even shared the food and drinks, of course not “non-halal” food as my family do respect my Malay friend’s faith though there were no “halal” regulations then. We mixed very well and our parents don’t have to ask if we are going out with what friends. We do have vernacular schools then and it never created any problems amongst the races. In fact, the harmony among the various races were much better and stronger than it is today. The NEP was a good policy but it is the enforcement which is not ok. There were many Malay poors who were even sidelined, let alone the Nons, as it was “hijacked” by politicians for their own benefits.
You may want to read the Constitution on Malay privileges as you have obviously overlooked its interpretation and spirit when it was written. I have no qualms about helping the under-privileged but it’s not specifically reserved for Malays only. I’m sorry that you think otherwise and felt that the main issue is the Nons failure to assimilate but truthfully as citizens of the country, aren’t we the same so the question of assimilation should not arise. Malaya got its independence from the British who had given it on condition it is multi-racial and the delegation that went to seek audience with the Queen was only allowed in if it was represented by the representatives of the three main races i.e. Malay, Chinese and Indian.

Di India , rakyat mereka yang sebangsa dengan mereka tetapi menganut Agama Islam , didiskriminasikan kerana agama.

Well said Mr. Teoh! You stayed and I left Malaysia. Salute to you. I sometimes I ask myself did I make the right decision because I do miss the family and the Malaysia I left behind. I thought like you did that the NEP was good for Malaysia. At the time I left Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir was the Deputy PM. I worked for a NGO and had liaison with the DPM department. The vision of 2020 of Malaysia becoming a developed country as envisioned in the NEP has proven to be a flop. I now can see that the NEP is divisive as Miriam Makhtar said. Breaks my heart to see the Malaysia the family I left behind are living in now. I'm happy in my new country Australia. Please continue to speak out! Thankyou.

      PENSKE PURU,
      Why?
We can be different in ethnicity, in language , in culture , which are very obvious to you.
But can you deny the fact that we have one thing in common. We are Malaysians! If you don’t agree , then you are not fit to be a Malaysian!!!
You think Malaysua is the only country in the world with many ethnic groups? You’re wrong, WRONG! Get your facts rights , then stop exaggerating the differences.
Travel when you’re able and you’ll see how some countries treat their minorities so well , you should be ashamed ! Yes, you go to Inner Mongolia , you’ll learn that they preserve their own language and culture and they have special rights to enter the universities!!
Let me check and let you know Makaysia is just one of the many countries which have different ethnicities!
Look at sone of the big countries , they have many ethnicities in their midst,; they’re not homogeneous!
      India- 2,000 ethnic groups !
      China- 56 ethnic groups;
      Russia-120 ethnic groups ;
Britain-18 ethnic groups plus many many immigrants who have equal rights like citizens( they can buy houses, they can enter the universities)except not allowed to vote!
America-so many that they are classified into Whites, Blacks,Asians, Latino etc etc
Ok? Do they keep saying things like’ you’re’pendatang’ “you’re here because we are merciful’ “You go back to where you come from””
The last one is the worst: You mean those who say this don’t even know one can’t simply claim citizenship unless you’re born with parents who are citizens of a certain country? What numbskulls whoever he/she is !!
And just don’t know why there are scumbags who choose to divide the country when as leaders, they should promote unity?
And more so, can’t understand why despite being educated, there are many fools who choose to believe those scumbag politicians from single-raced parties when this only feed their greed for money and power BUT DESTROY THE COUNTRY THEY DARE PROFESS THEY LOVE?
      PENGSKE PURU,
Buat baik berpada pada, buat jahat Jangan sekali!
Love your own citizens , be blind to their skin colour. Don’t deny them their birthright to be Malaysians!!
      Wish you well.
Bukankah kita adik beradik ?No goosebumps on my part and hope you”d reply-sama sama”!

Dear Patrick, this is Malaysia and it is the way it is. You are Malaysian, wake up and be grateful. In this country if you work hard you can be the richest person. Guess which race controls the economy and being the top 10 richest persons in Malaysia. Do you think they feel less Malaysian? The politicians are doing their part to set a social equilibrium and stability so that we all can live harmoniously. They might not be perfect, alas good and bad government are everywhere. You're lucky if they ever allow you to open vernacular schools in any of those countries.
Do check to the core of the issue. Remember the old Chinese virtue of "Ru Xiang Sui Su" ( if you're in another foreign land, you assimilate or integrate into the culture and practices of that society). Yes the Chinese did very well in the US, UK, Australia and Europe and many other countries, where they adapt almost everything that's there. But it did not apply to southern Chinese who've migrated to Malaya then. This is simply because they never wanted to stay permanently. Chinese who migrated with the intention to permanently settled down in a foreign country, never started a Chinese school or Chinese press in the scale that their ancestors did. Obviously up to now, the majority still can’t let that go and even still can’t master as simple as the Bahasa Malaysia. Yet its easy to point a finger at the politicians, bumiputeras and everything else but never realize the other three fingers are pointing at us Malaysian. Hence, this is Malaysia and it is the way it is. Let's embrace it as we are all under one special identity - being "Malaysian" that we are all proud of. Happy Malaysia Day!

Well said Patrick. Those days we were all proud to be Malaysians. These days unless we have a brand new government which stops playing one race or religion against the other and turning the country upside down we can only be ashamed of being called Malaysian. Back in those days in the fifties and sixties we could call ourselves One Malaysia until the government divided us all in order to gain power for themselves. What a disgrace and shame in the eyes of the world. It is even worse now than then. We can only pray that God will bless us with a better and more selfless and well versed government officials who care more for the rakyat than themselves.

Towards being a true Malaysian !
Malaysians are not divided by race or the colour of your skin. We are divided by religion !
Most Non Bumiputeras still have very strong leanings towards their origins. Indians regard India as their motherland .. the Sikhs acknowledge that Punjab is all .. Sri Lankans have donated millions upon millions of ringgit for the Tamil Tigers .. the Chinese associate themselves with Singapore or Hong Kong .. or in precovid times with the western world.
Now if I am a Bumiputera, I will feel uncomfortable and threatened !
Not mentioning that most of the Nons can’t speak the national language proficiently .. and yet consider themselves to be true Malaysians.
Regardless of severe racism in the west, most Asians are happy to acknowledge the right of the white master. And this ideology transcends towards trying to change the political landscape in Malaysia.
If u are not Bumiputera u basically have no say in the politics or the governance of the country.
How can u consider being a true Malaysian when your religion and culture are against the majority’s will ?
U can beg for consideration .. but by no means demand it !
In reality the Nons are considered immigrants, and rightly so.
They want to change the country with their own beliefs to suit their convenience.
Become a Muslim and u will become a true Malaysian, regardless of your race or the colour of your skin !
After all religion is really an accident. If u were born in the west u would probably be a Christian .. or a Muslim if u originated from the Middle East .. or a Hindu if your ancestors hailed from the sub continent .. and so on !
