Animatic - This Day Aria (MLP)

HEYYY
This animatic has been in the making for like half a year but I thought 'Why not post now?'
I was super inspired when I heard ‪@VictorFrost‬ 's cover of 'This Day Aria' from My Little Pony. One of my favourite songs from the series!
I experimented so much with camera angles and shots, trying to make it as dynamic as possible - it was rlly fun (altho you can see how I didn't render the last frames so much). And drawing guys is so much more difficult than drawing girls.
STORY:
It's somewhat of a prince and the pauper story, but the pauper guy doesn't want to change back to the old ways, so he got the prince thrown in the dungeons, and being his look-alike, no one suspects a thing. Consumed by power and never wanting to go back to living on the streets, he prepares to marry da princess.

All the drawings were done in Krita then the animatic edited in Da Vinci Resolve.

I've never heard this cover before so I just died of laughter at the line "no I do not love the bride, cause my heart is dead inside" mans did an excellent job at rewriting the lyrics to fit the who genderbend thing

WOAH THIS IS SO COOL!! The whole twist on the prince and the pauper story- it’s a darker take on the whole royalty/peasant doppelgänger story and the art is very pretty

This is OUTSTANDING. I love everything about it. Such a unique take on this song (a twisted The Prince and the Pauper story? GIMME THAT!) and the animation is so amazing! I love the way you capture the pauper and the prince's emotions, especially when the pauper says "For my heart is dead inside". Such an intimited scene. I hope that you'll continue with this, because it's so great!
