    Strongly recommend replacing the nut on the bottom of the sight glass with a 1/2 in. ball valve. This solves the lack of spigot issue. A $10 change dramatically improved the cleaning experience.

    Much as I like my current old-school equipment, I see one of these AIO systems in my near future. Sure would be nice to shorten the brew day. I saw a person online mention they brewed 3 batches in a day on one. That's impressive, like buying part of your life back.

    I have had my G40 for about 2 years now, never have had an issue. It has allowed me to expand what I can brew and how I brew which has lead to a huge step up in my beers! This also is great for kettle sours and holding that 95+ temp for 24 hours plus with out an issue. I agree with what you guys said; not having a spigot at the bottom was a pain, but you can add one super easily, and it makes cleanup so much easier! They have a few different accessories as well, which I wish you guys at MoreBeer would stock (whirlpool arm!).
    The app itself is super useful too, let's you scale your brews based on batch size, the community has all kinds of recipes as well that you can browse and use.
    I really cant recommend the g40 enough and glad I bought mine from you guys.

    Great video! Definitely interested in a G40, such great features and sounds so easy to use. Also, love the Trillium tee, Vito! Great New England beers from them!

    I have one of these and love it. Super easy to use and clean. The drain plug at the bottom of the sight glass is easy to remove when draining during cleaning. I have had 10 oz. of whirlpool hops in the system and no clogging. For a typical batch I just heat my sparge water with the mash water and pump it to a bucket before mashing in. My Neipa's come in around 78%, and my pale ales around 85%. I do use a 5 gallon paint strainer bag on the base plate of the malt pipe, seems to make the wort clearer. I also use all of my water from the chiller for cleaning. Spent grains go on the lawn for fertilizer.

    Any plans to make spare parts available? I broke the lid on mine and had an almost impossible time finding a replacement. Hate to think about the pump going out sometime if there are no parts.

    Great video, this looks like a good second system to upgrade to from your more economic options, when I started brewing years ago I was looking at this system too.

    What about the plug in? Anything special? I have 240V but wondering if a new receptacle will be needed?

  • @cdctx07
    @cdctx07 Před 9 dny

    What type of 220 plug do these have? I have a 65L Brewzilla 3.1.1 right now with a plug converter to make it work with a Quick 220v system. This Grainfather would be a great eventual upgrade, so electrical planning is always important to know :)
