Riding a Honda CRF250L through the Congo!

- This was one of the most challenging routes of my entire journey, travelling from N'dende, Gabon to Dolisie, Republic of Congo.
The CRF250L held up incredibly well, completing a 200 mile day of mud, puddles and much more! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
My man...its been a few months, where are you? You safe, you hurt, taking a break? Please chime in and let us know.
Has anyone heard anything back from Harvey?
I found him on Instagram he’s just not uploading to you tube
@@Cyan_Ryda he could have made a video telling people at least. 😑
@@markpurcell3588 exactly
What's his Instagram
hey dude...you ok? i feel like you should just make a super quick video just letting people know you're ok...if anyone could let us know.
I fully understand Harvey I was working away with my dad and he started to get confused. he was fit and healthy but sadly had a grade 4 brain tumour. After six months he died which totally changed my life and way of thinking. Keep plugging away mate It sounds like your mum was so proud of you.
Nicest guy. Loved this CZcams channel. We miss you, Harvey. God bless you, hope you’re well.
Followed your trip, fantastic. But would like to know that you're OK?
Every time I see a vid like this where the going gets tough and the rider has to dig deep to overcome difficult terrain it makes me think of of these people who do marathons and other sports where will power is the thing that gets you through.
Big difference is on a ride like this you do not have a coach or medical back up as a safety blanket, it is just you and the bike, life or death.
Kudos to you Harvey, real adventure riding, there is a fine line between bravery and stupidity, that to me is bravery.
Loving the experiences you've had while on tour. Top job Harvey, you've come in at an exemplary level.
Where are you?
Miss you
Thanks for posting this despite the audio issues! It's brilliant to see, glad to see your well into the swing of things now... happy travels man :)
Great video keep them coming always great to watch
Does anyone know what's happened to Harvey? As he is a young single adventurer, I'm quite concerned. His Facebook and Instagram has gone quiet too. Last post on Insta was on 24th May.
No he has disappeared somehow. It's not like him not giving us an update
Was he on a trip?
I doff my hat to you Sir!
Seriously, well done you and well done little Honda. I'll never complain about the state of British roads again, haha! You did yourself proud, mate.
I rode this stretch two years ago, this video is bringing all the memories back! This stretch and the Luozi crossing both pushed me to my limits. Fell off a few times!
Awesome videos, you make me feel ashamed as an older bikerider that I haven't done more of the world. Courage and charisma you deserve a TV show. Stay safe and keep up the great videos.
Well done Harvey you had to dig deep there to overcome the terrain, Great series of videos
Another great video. I really enjoyed it
I've done that trip on my 990 r, key is on that type of mud is keep the weight closer to the front and use a decent amount of constant power to push through you loose the front because the backs not pushing enough, give her a good old handful and you'll fly through it, fantastic video you've got yourself a fan in me.
Hats off to you. One day I'll have the courage to do something like this
This is my tyoe of video! Loved evey minute and the rider perspective. interesting terrain there young Harvey! Bernie in Sydney
Dude, you need to go on another adventure. This series was superb! 👍
Really enjoyed that! 👍
The first video of yours I watched was you greenlaning in Oxford and the next I watch you're in the Congo.
I wasn't expecting that, good luck from Devon.
Awesome video! I grew up in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Zaire at the time). Riding our little Honda XR250 and Yamaha DT175 around the bush was a lot like this. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! :-)
Anymore adventures? I forgot all about your channel, some of the best riding trips filmed on CZcams!
Impressive riding skills.
Hope the vids keep coming! Stay safe!
I'm moving to England soon. I would love to join you on your yorneys.... Looks amazing.
i have watched a few bike journey son utube but i will tell you i enjoyed your journey through africa the best of all
i miss the videoss .. hope you come back
Hats off to you Harvey....and to the CRF.... anyone thinking of buying a small capacity trail bike should be made to watch this first! If I were a manager of a Honda dealership I would be showing your video on a big screen....and paying you for the privilege... RSMF
Is he all right? Have been waiting many months for an update...
So glad that you're still posting vids from earlier stretches of your earlier run? Or are riding back north? Regardless, cheers and ride safe!
how much maintenance did you have to do on your bike Harvey throughout your whole adventure.great vids, keep em coming.
if i put an aftermarket exaust on my drz400 will i need a restrictor
Hey Harvey - Missing your content matey! How's you doing and what's next for the channel?
I hope you keep doing this on multiple bikes if possible. im sure youd earn many patrons doing so. Would like to see how far you could get on a Honda Africa Twin or CRF450L
is it legal to take a 4 wheeler through there?
Superbe ! Suspensions origine ? Nice to see a 250 in offroading, OEM suspensions or upgrade for luggage weight ?
Great video
Last video you uploaded was you in Congo, it doesn't look good. Are you safe and back in the uk yet?
During the whole beginning of the video all I could think was don't drop your lunch!
I've watched quite a few of your videos down the West Coast, brilliant fun and makes me excited about my trip which i should be starting in the new year. Out of interest, did you take a Carnet and did anyone ask for it? If you did, which company did you use for it?
Keep on riding buddy, maybe see you on the road some day.
Well what kind of road did you expect to the congo? Paved with street lights and a road crew on stand by?
Any more tours on the way. Missing them
Hey man, really enjoyed all your videos. Question that came to my mind when whatching this one: which tyres did you use on that whole Africa trip?
Is this guy still alive he didn’t upload for awhile... hopefully everything is good man
hey where have you been mate? found your channel through you wr125x roadtrip, found it really interesting. just got a 125 supermoto myself a month ago
Hey man its more than a year ago, are you ok? are you done with youtube?
Anyone knows where is he now? No videos for the past 4 months
hi Which brand tires we use
I just finished watching all your Africa videos and thoroughly loved them, well done! I too am wanting to travel by motorcycle in the near future and am having problems deciding on a bike. The 3 bikes I'm currently looking at are the CRF250L, DRZ400S and WR250R, I would love to hear your thoughts on these 3 bikes for long distance traveling like you did in Africa and why you chose the Honda for your trip? Thanks in advance.
Jesse
When traveling in africa power is really something you don't need so a 250 is just enough but which 250 that is the question. The honda crf has been proven by many people to be reliable even in the hardest conditions and it will do it with comfort but at the end of the day it's you who is going to do the trip so choose something you like. But as i said in my opinion the crf is just perfect just don't be too rough on it because of the soft suspension
Looks like a tiering ride . Great to watch tho thanks

@@rzu7120 Yeah, I'd like to think so but doubtful seeing as the last upload / update was in Congo. Even an comment on his well-being would be good. Someone must know him irl.
@@Esge71 He didn't post these in order. I believe he did a video after his return home, reviewing the gear he had used on the trip.

After watching and listening to your video I would say you really need a clutch badly it's probly very worn Out I don't know how would he teeth you go to the rear sprocket but you probably won't go to a 42 or 44 will probably help you a whole lot when driving through that I'm just saying
