I love the comment you made about speaking in your language more! I am not comfortable with my Cantonese and I know I'll never be perfect at it, but practicing it and being more mindful of speaking it more can help me be not so rusty and makes me feel less embarrassed about it

I always feel intimidated speaking chinese just because I know I speak broken chinese and honestly it's more like chinglish at this point. I need to honestly get over that fear and try speaking it more often to get better

Growing up in a bilingual family was tough. As a kid I was embarrassed to speak Spanish. But know, I have a job were I am able to use it & help people.
Really needed to hear your car rant!! I've been trying to unlearn that I need to be perfectly fluent in my mother tongue to be able to speak it. Now I've started speaking it even if my sentences come out funny and they're not grammars off. Just getting into the habit of speaking is so important and I do think I've started improving a lot since I stopped waiting to have perfect grammar or pronunciation to speak. Your Cantonese and Mandarin vlogs always inspire me to just do my best and speak. Thanks so much Wah + Weylie
Guys (anybody who can relate), you have no idea how lucky you are to be raised in bilingual families. There is nothing to be ashamed of.♡ If you can speak more than one language, good for you and if you have someone to talk to in that second language, do it, don't throw away that opportunity.
I seriously do not understand people who mock others for not speaking the language perfectly. What's even funnier to me is that most of the time those are the people who can speak only one language...Don't listen to them. Be proud of whou you are. I know it's easy for me to say, but ...
You have no idea how much I love when you guys, Wah & Weylie, speak cantonese. I don't speak chinese, if it wasn't for subtitles, I have no idea what are you talking about. But just seeing you chattering & being happy makes me happy and who knows, maybe I'm gonna learn thing or two. At the end of the day, it's you guys I should be thanking for improving my English this much. I love that your brought up the part about your own language because that’s exactly how I feel with my own native language. Which is the Navajo language, I don’t speak it at all. I know some words here and there but nothing like a whole sentence and I always feel ashamed at not knowing it fully and I just wish my parents taught me when I was younger but nothing was ever the same after my grandma died. She was basically the heart of the family.

Before having children I used to watch you guys religiously. After my first baby I kinda fell off. I wished my parents pushed me to speak Navajo. Moved off the Rez to Phoenix and absolutely no one spoke. Navajo. When I was little I thought speaking Navajo was weird. Now I regret it because I can't teach my kids. I have to start over.

My Cantonese has been so bad. I speak 3 dialects and Cantonese everytime I speak it, I either sound someone from the village or a northerner. But I love the Cantonese vlogs and am proud of myself for not needing to read the eng subs provided. Thank you for what you do.

This is so inspiring! I really wish that my family spoke a second language for me to learn growing up to be more connected to our culture. My boyfriend is Taiwanese and grew up speaking Mandarin at home but now that his family has moved back to Taiwan he doesn't get to speak it nearly as much... so he has been teaching me for the past few years so we can practice together! I enjoy it so much and hope to get to a good enough conversational level one day :)
Now that you've had plenty of camping/hiking experience, could you do like a "What's In My Backpack" video? Like detailing products/ equipment that you guys like to pack as essentials when going out in nature?

I've been following more channels that speak Cantonese that are from overseas because they usually use english in their titles and sometimes will put subs in their videos!
