      It Just Makes Me Wonder Why The Marine Corps Couldn't Use 5 Minutes As A Max Score?
      Here's Of How I Think That It Should Be:
      2:30 For The Minimum
      3:30 For The Average
      5:00 Minutes For The Max!

  • @ickekoep
    @ickekoep Před 11 měsíci

    I applaud the corps to make this change to planks, about 4 years after I knew about the problem of crunches myself.
    However the shape, the lower back tilt shown here with the man and woman is already witness to how little engaged the core muscles are or how bad the spine already is.
    I would disqualify both postures and allow the upper-position (for resting) to ensure proper core engagement. Making crunches mandatory and with that changing soldiers' spines to the worse logically requires effort in the opposite direction.
    What would this mean? Participants of the plank would need to undergo a 3-6 month training cycle which includes stretching core exercises to improve their spine before they could qualify in a plank.

  • @JBruce247
    @JBruce247 Před rokem

    The only way to increase the time that you can hold a plank, is to start doing them every day, or every other day. After doing minute planks for a few weeks, bump it up 30 seconds.

      Porkchop Periwinkle bullshit bro xd I am a marine and I ain’t that athletic I’m a pretty good runner and have a lot of resistance, I always get a pretty decent score on the PFT and the CFT both of them I get first class. But my physical condition ain’t that great compared to a lot of actual athletes. You see normal people around here :T That’s some bullshit xD a 4 minute plank sucks ass.
      The thing that actually separates all of us from everyone else is that we are proud af and we push ourselves beyond our limits, we can be hurting pretty bad and you will still see us carrying heavy gear and running fast, we are pretty competitive and that’s it 🤷🏻‍♀️

      Porkchop Periwinkle i am a Field Radio Operator (0621) I’ve never did sports before the Marine Corps and I know many like me that never did and were even over weight. Ik our standards and how much we should push. But saying all of us are athletes? And that if you’re not you’re never gonna be a Marine? That’s bullshit xD like I said my scores are pretty decent I always get first class on my PFT and CFT that doesn’t mean shit🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve met people here that can lift tons of weight but can’t run for shit, and so I’ve met people that run fast af and can do the obstacle course but can lift their own weight. So that’s complete bullshit we just normal people 🤷🏻‍♀️
