If we turn on the wiper with dust in the windshield frameless wipers will get easily damaged while frame will endure a little more than that. Always keep your wiper in lifted away from the glass during outside parking to increase the life span of it. Most wipers we buy only lasts a single rain season unless you go for premium ones. So spend wisely.
I'd say,Wiper isn't meant for dust cleaning. Only after considerable amount of water hits the windshield, we can turn on wipers .

Metal wipers provide uniform pressure over its entire length. Please observe its construction - the distributed pressure pads.
Whereas in frameless wipers, the pressure is maximum at the centre and pressure gets reduced at the edges. In order to compensate for this pressure difference, they manufacture more curved blades.
Mr.Birla, you should know one thing that better wipes are due to good surface contacts and not with pressure. The pressure should be adequate enough to achieve good glass to wiper contact. The excess pressure on the windshield is of no use and this will damage the windshield as well as the wiper itself.
Moreover, metal wipers will not loose its character much with heat due to sunshines.
My vote is to use metallic frame wipers only.

Which is partially the reason, frameless wipers start making noise as they age sooner than frame wipers.. mainly because even little dust between the rubber and glass would cause scratches in Windshield, due to frameless wiper extra pressure. Which severely limits their longevity...

Just my personal experience birla sir, even I have started using frameless wiper and noticed one major drawback which is in frameless wiper edge is covered by plastic cup like cover and it's easily damageable. If it gets damaged then while running that cup will removed automatically from it and the rubber will move out of the wiper whenever it is in wipping mode on.

Apart from the wiper, there is another simple trick to make water flow down without sticking onto the windshield.
1. Take an apple, cut into two.
2. Rub the apple against your windshield. That's it.
Next time when your driving in rain, you'll see water drops drains easily from the windshield and you'll get clear vision.

One disadvantage in frameless after using some days it creates a irritating noise while wiping, since the contraction between wiper and glass is very close,I have used both frame and frameless in my cars but after a long term use I found that frame wipers are best when comparing frameless, frameless perform well but only problem is it creates noise much higher then frame wipers
This is true. That wiping noise is there.. The friction is more on the frameless since the contact is more firm.
