Good Day Lyndon we love watching your videos from Caura with Mr. Bat, Harry and others.
My Deceased Father used to take us to Caura since the road was Gravel and there was
access to only the first pool. I was only ten years old then.
We used to get fresh fruits, Primrose, Cashew, Mangos , Pomarac and others. We
caught fishes especially Crafish etc.
Ever since we grew up visiting this beautiful river to enjoy the Scenery, Cook and Bathe.
Today I am retired and live in Toronto but must visit there whenever we come on vacation.
Lyndon thanks to you and the Strong Young Boys , M. Bat and his buddy, I really enjoy
seeing your videos, you relive my historical past which I show to our adult kids and
Grand Kids.
I will contact you on our next trip to accompany us to visit with the Young men .
Thanks again and God Bless you all .
Sounds like you had a magnificent childhood! Definitely have a lot of good memories to share with your family. I coordinated my visit almost a month in advance with Mr. Lyndon Baptiste, and Lyndon was a very gracious host. The longer lead time you give Lyndon the better so he can help you plan a smooth visit, but definitely a worthwhile trip to make in my experience. Cheers.
Mulchan, thanks for sharing this message with me. To hear of your past and how the work we're doing is having an impact on your family tree is both heart-warming and mind-blowing.
What a memorable day, trini 0324!
Good Morning Lyndon thanks for the reply, we are hoping to meet with you
on our next trip home to take a Tour with you yo meet Mr. Batt and Harry.
Have a Safe and Blessed Weekend.
@@lyndonbaptiste I shall never forget it, and will always be appreciative of your kindness. Stay well, and Best Wishes of Success always!
Dat is one huge sada roti, and ah cyar believe it swell up so big!! Nice round roti too!! Mr Bat is a sweet gentle spirit!! What a lovely view from his kitchen!! Just a precious human being!! Admirable, simple, and yet, so extraordinary!!
These videos take me back 50 years ago with my granpa. Love it.
Wow, Diane, I'm speechless. Thank you.
Annmarie Lalansingh from Brampton Ontario Canada, It reminds me of my father in Trinidad, he was the cook then with 11 children he worked in Guaya, I love how you portray the good old days in the country side, Lyndon, May God bless you, I like the other guy with you all too, he’s quite intelligent about the old days and economics
Well stated Annmarie!
Hi, Annmarie, welcome and thank you for your comment. Hearing about your father and his commitment to work and 11 children is special; and reminds me that perhaps I need to do more for my own family. I had the good fortune of meeting Mr Bat (by chance?) then Farmer Harry. Because they are natural in their natural environment, it feels like the good old days are alive and well (barely? I'm not sure). I'm happy we're able to work together to bring this your home in Brampton. God bless you too.
Yes Mr Bat, “saykay” yuh sadaa roti dey Boi. Yuh gone but will always be remembered. Lyndon you Mr. Harry be strong. It’s not going to be easy to fill the void but we have so much of your footage that can bring us some comfort.
For the non-West Indian audience across the globe, the word MANACAL (as in MANACAL VALLEY) means GRU-GRU or GRU-GRU-BEF which is a specie of PALM TREE with a very thorny trunk, and it bears bunches of round, hard, yellow fruit the size of ping-pong balls. It's also called the MACAW PALM as Macaw Parrots love to eat the flesh of the hard nut inside the GRU-GRU fruit. Additionally, wine can be made from the SAP of the GRU-GRU Palm; something Mr. Harry may already know, or heard about. So MANACAL VALLEY got it's amazing name: GRU-GRU VALLEY or GRU-GRU BEF VALLEY because of the Palm Trees and the MACAW PARROTS.
As for SADA ROTI (the type of Leavened Bread or Flatbread made by Mr. Bat); it was brought to the West Indies by the Indentured Servants from India.
The word - SADA - means SIMPLE; thus, SADA ROTI means SIMPLE ROTI or SIMPLE BREAD because it requires very few ingredients to make.
Thanks Mr. Bat, Mr. Harry, and Mr. Lyndon Baptiste for being Life Coaches, and for teaching us that Happiness in Life comes from Self-Contentment and keeping things SADA (or SIMPLE) "Inside Caura".
Thanks for sharing this knowledge with us!
Brilliant stuff. I'd like to use sometime in the future, trini 0324, and of course credit you and other sources. When that time comes we'll be in touch. Thanks again.
@@lyndonbaptiste Always willing to help and share with you anytime and in any way possible Lyndon. Keep up the good work! You have my support.
Hi, your channel came up in my feed a couple weeks, after Lance & Louise, and have been viewing since.Love the exposure of content.Lovely peaceful and simple way of living. So love love the nature around. But i thought about where the meaning if "sada" roti came from .in all my years its a first, very impressive. Thanks again for bringing these episodes to us.
Thanks for sharing your vids with Mr Bat with us
I hope day wen I come back to trinidad 🇹🇹 I can visit Mr Bat
I hope so too! Thanks for your time, Trini Soca.
Your vlogs are so refreshing, they need to be at least 30mins!
30 minutes? I might put you to sleep.
Mr Bat died a few days ago, a vehicular accident. May God Bless his Soul. Condolence to Mr Baptiste and relatives of Mr r Bat. I know Mr Baptiste would cherish the time they spent together. We have to cherish our elders.
Hello Lyndon, good morning to you, I remember my father when I see Mr. Bat, he was the cook at home with 11 children, working in Guaya, and you portray all the good things about country side, and the love for those good old days, God bless you and Mr. Bat, stay safe
..I am sure many women can’t cook a nice roti like Mr Bat….Well done!
No comment. Lol.
Can’t wait to see Mr. Bat at his best 🙂cooking👍🏾
Mr Bat like Iron man with that Roti lol😂
Mr Bat you are a master in everything you do. God bless. There are many Indian women in New York City Guyanese and Trinidadian do not know how to make roti. You just made perfect roti that can be seen all over the world. Mr Baptiste is doing a wonderful job in showcasing you and the other Gentleman. (the other bushman)
Good night Lyndon, nice one again bro,you had me thinking about the bushmen dying from eating different types of bushes to see what is edible or not, something to really think about.
love to see you you make my day love from Brooklyn ny
Yeah, I wonder what was the system for designating the taste testers?
@@lyndonbaptiste maybe it was someone the tribe did not consider to be of value to them. but if they die, then they would of been of great value.
It reminds me when I were young growing up with my grandparents. Good old days good job guys keep it up enjoy all the videos it is nice to see younger people spending time with the older folks
Thanks, Cherry. Your time means a lot to me; and when I share these comments with Mr Bat it means a lot to him too.
Nothing like a real trini pot to cook your food in!
Here that music 🎶 when he making that Roti was magical. I taught that Roti would have fed multitudes when he done yes
IslandBoy, you make me bust out a laugh yes; because I felt the same way when I found that song and was editing the video.
I'm a Guyanese living in NY bro I would love to spend a week with Mr bat and Harry . It's very heart touching watching their lifestyle thank you.
You're welcome, Kawal. One day. Take care.
Thank you for uploading these videos, I was born in Trinidad in 1967 . Migrated at a early age, watching these video brings me great joy, viewing life as I knew it.

@@lyndonbaptiste respect to you brother.
notting to beat back the old school days living in the country side God richly bless you guys real good
Hello Lyndon, I love your videos and it truly tugs at my desires to return to life in Trinidad and Tobago. Your camera work and commentary is impeccable and well received. However the only thing I'd like for you to do is perhaps get a microphone hooked up to the stars of the show so that we the audience can hear them more clearly. Again, I love what you are doing and pray that you keep up the videos coming. Thank you
Thanks for your positive feedback, Peter. In the past I've considered putting microphones on both men but haven't for two reasons. (1) Artistic choice; (2) I don't own wireless microphones. The audio equipment I have will require me syncing multiple video and audio clips. Long story short, HEADACHE. Maybe one of these good days I'll be able to invest in a pair and test them. Thanks again.
Good afternoon Mr Harry and Mr Bat. I'm enjoy this country style life
Thank you great video blessings to you and Uncle Bat and uncle Harry ❤️
I second that Tianna!👍
Thank you too.
Every time i see Mr Bat i am convince that this is the life i want to live. Mr Baptiste you are right these are the things our children should be exposed to.
Oui, Michael, yeah, as much as I realise it, I wonder how easy it would be to submit to a life like this. Thanks for watching, Michael.
In Africa, 🇮🇳 and some Asians countries and Spanish countries still doing village life
Not everyone r Rich or Middle-class
So ✅️ village life will never disappeared don't worry.
Thanks for showcasing Mr Bat's cooking skills, he did not disappoint 👏 an awesome human 👏, stay safe
I really enjoying watching videos with Mr Bat and Mr Harry...also Mr Lyndon I missed watching your videos with lasana work shop..and his wife Melissa with her cooking
Ask Mr Bat..what is the meaning of SAY...KAY .IN the roti?
The reason why the roti should swelled is because it is easy access to open it ..so you can put your vegetables or whatever you want to eat with it .,than taking a knife to open it...we used a knife to open a bake...but sada roti is different... according to Mr Bat. ..the kneaded dough most soaked for a while
I'll certainly ask Mr Bat. Yes, I love working with Lasana and his family. He's taking a little break from videos right now. Everything in its right time.
That roti swelling more than mine lol
I would love to live up there in the forest surrounded by nature, untouched by development and growing food from the land.
