Nakakamiss yung Madonna Inspired routine nila nung 2011 - I think yun yung the best nila. How sad lang yung dating pinaka-idol mo sa cheerleading hindi na ng-level-up and worst parang downgraded pa. Anyway palitan nalang po ng workhard yung pride nyo, see you next year!
Agree, sobrang iconic ng UP 2011 Madonna. Pansin ko lang, kapag may black ang costumes ng UP sobrang tumatatak. UP Party Routine, 2013, kung naperfect nila yon, baka halos dikit sila ng NU sa scores. Considering na double jeopardy ang nangyari (18 points deducted from total score; each score category hindi mabigyan ng mataas na score because of the errors). Sana magrecruit na sila ng gymnasts. Or consider hiring more trainers. Marami silang magagaling na members pero hindi nareach ang full potential, like Audrey Munoz who can perform double fulls basket way back 2011. Last 2015 yun pa din ang ineexecute niya. Hindi man lang naging two skills in one toss. Hay UP please please it's time to up your game

I don't understand why the UP head coach can't get over the results and boycotted this year's UAAP. First of all Cheerleading is a subjective sport. It's a sport where in you have panel of judges who scores and decides who the winners are. That's the very nature of the sport and it will never change. Second, The NU pep squad is better than the UP pep when technicalities are concerned because most of the NU pep members are gymnasts. . Lastly, The UAAP CDC has had some really questionable outcomes/winners before prior to last year's CDC. (ex. when UP won 2010 and FEU was only 1st runner up and many more..) but still no university has ever boycotted the CDC because of the results. The UP pep and their coach think that they're better and bigger than the UAAP but there's a difference between school pride and just PRIDE. Personally, I wouldn't suggest that the UP pep should replace it's trademark songs, style and creativity but I really think that they should change their coach(lalala) because they need someone who doesn't have that much PRIDE and someone who can make them technically better. Look at AdU, new coach and they just had an awesome routine. FEU new coach as well. Same with NU they changed their coaches last 2011 and look at them now.

I think what you were trying to convey was: the UAAP board of judges considered the RESULTS of the competition to be valid even though the UP pep has been questioning and protesting the results. ter 08 I dunno, but I've already commented something here. Di ko alam kung nadelete or what. I am not siding with anyone. Again, they cannot get over with the results because the judges considered their protest to be valid. Meaning: 1. If I am not mistaken, filing a protest before, during, or after the announcement of the winners is PROHIBITED. It will result to the team's DISQUALIFICATION. UP filed a formal protest after the announcement and the judges acknowledged it and was considered VALID. 2. If the protest wasn't acknowledged at all, UP's 2nd RU finish can be revoked because of disqualification, and they will be replaced by FEU who at that time ranked 4th. But it didn't happen, because again, the protest was considered valid. 3. Acknowledging such protest means that the questions thrown at them must be answered - and UP didn't hear anything from them. Pinaghintay sila sa wala. One thing that's bugging me these days: BAWAL BA ANG PRONE DISMOUNT? What's considered to be a prone dismount? (General definition: Prone dismount - Landing on the abdomen after a stunt or toss.) Never kong nakitaan ng prone dismount ang UP. Pero nung 2015 at 2014 (at pinakamadami kong beses na nakitaan non) ay NU. Even UST nag di-dismount ng abdomen ang una. It was questioned by UP and was never answered. Hopefully you can enlighten me with this one as I see you as someoe who just loves the sport and won't be subject to any forms of bias. :) Anyway, I am not Coach Lala. My name and her nickname was just coincidental LOL. I watched UP's performance at Indonesia (the cheer mixed) and it was just like their Pasasalamat routine. Same stunts, tumblings, and difficulty. I must admit that I am a bit disappointed. I am expecting more from them. Hindi na kasi pwedeng idahilan yung "hindi kasi kami gymnasts". At the end of the day, it all breaks down to what the teams have shown at yun ang sole basis for judging. Ni wala akong nakitang level 6 na toss sa kanila. Same double fulls, kick double. Eh 2011 pa lang ginagawa na nila yon. Parang mas malakas pa sa kanila ang AdU ngayon.

Had the same thoughts with most of you guys when I watched this for the 1st time. But the UP Pep Squad FB admin answered to criticisms. They didn't directly answer, but the response is implying that the skills shown here are downgraded. And it's pretty obvious when you watch it again. Definitely kaya na nilang mag-double down pero hindi nila ginawa. They simply showed the creativity behind their routine and have it shown to the fans, without revealing the skills they've worked on. And we all know UP keeps on making improvements every year like the rest of the teams. But if you look at the pyramids, damn! I think that gives a preview or a teaser of how much improvement they've made. If you look at the partner stunts at 2:44 as well, sobrang komportable na din ng mga flyers at bases nila at sinadya na lang nilang mag-prep level just to avoid injuries. But I'm estimating nakapag-train na sila ng full extension mount, and/or baka naka-heel stretch na yung mga flyers nila. Pyramid at 1:03, the body position of the top flyers are also looking too comfortable. Baka in the actual CDC, naglagay pa sila ng other transitions, etc. I'm also pretty sure they've worked on their tosses. If you look at the sequence at 3:44, walang masiyadong gumagawa ng bird front sa CDC dati kasi mahirap na skill siya, pero yung flyers ng UP, nakapagdagdag pa sila ng full twist, at travelling toss pa. Definitely, may mga nakatago pa yang skills. Overall I think it makes sense not to show all out the new skills they've acquired this year. Otherwise, yun na yung paghahandaan ng ibang teams next year, assuming na sasali sila sa CDC 2017.

jojo'skie Tolores - I concur with you sir. Im also a fan of UP Pep, but I think Coach Lala and them need to step up the game. UAAP CDC now is disparate, and I do think it's beacuse of NU who heaved the bar up so high. And whatever NU did (agressive recruitment around the country, proper techniques training, etc) it's still undeniable that they're on the right track. That's why other schools did also the same thing just to level up their skills and their routine. I do wish UP Pep will manage to be on the right pace again. Hoping the best for them..

Kung dati UP at UST lang ang pinapanood ko pero these past years NU at UP naman. 1. Consistent podium finish performance since 1994 (meaning ALWAYS ranked 1, 2 or 3 NEVER 4, 5 ,6 in UAAP CDC history, except in 2016 no rank) 2. Championship Medal Tally: UAAP - 8 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronze, also has been reaping medals in previous international competitions (Gold, Silver, Bronze) 3. Championship Rank: UAAP - #1 (based on 20 medals), followed by #2 UST (16 medals) , #3 FEU (15 medals), #4 De La Salle (6 medals) and #5 NU (5 medals). Isn't this amazing? I do not think there is any other (Phi) team who can top or at least equal the accomplishments of this team at this time.

I am really positive that this year, 2017, UP will show new skills for the upcoming UAAP CDC. I've seen their tosses in this routine, hindi sila ganyan mag execute ng basic tosses. Full twist nila normally, ang bagal. May height, pero yung pagturn nung katawan mabagal. Pano ko nasabi? UP Pep 2015 Group Stunts, Sam Corrales, full twist na ang pinakamahirap na toss na inexecute nya sa routine. Tosses: 0:53 Dito, sa pinakaunang toss, sya yung nasa middle. Hindi sya ganon magtwist, na mabilis at kapowerful. Pati si Jari, katabi ni Sam sa kanan. Last 2015 mabagal din magtwist ang katawan nya kahit single full twist lang yan, ngayon iba na. Trust me I am this observant sa individual capabilities ng UP Pep members cuz, yknow, fangirling since who-knows-when. 2:23 Si Fae Pascua sa bandang kaliwa yung medyo front, opening yon para sa 2 skills in one toss na stunt. Could be x-Out (pero sure ako hindi to X-Out dahil straight ang knees nya) to double fulls. Tumblings: Seen that landing at 1:34? May momentum pa para ituloy yung tumbling pass. At apat sila, may isang babae. Can anyone calrify kung mas mataas ba ang binibigay na scores sa tumblings pag babae ang nag eexecute? I've seen some comment na mas mataas ang scores ng girls sa tumbling pass na full twist ang landing compared sa boys. Dance, Pyramids, Aesthetics, Musicality: Malakas pa din sila. Ito talaga yung kahit kailan hindi nawala sa UP. Theory: May natatagong skills ang UP. Ang lakas ng pakiramdam ko. Agree, sobrang iconic ng UP 2011 Madonna. Pansin ko lang, kapag may black ang costumes ng UP sobrang tumatatak. UP Party Routine, 2013, kung naperfect nila yon, baka halos dikit sila ng NU sa scores. Considering na double jeopardy ang nangyari (18 points deducted from total score; each score category hindi mabigyan ng mataas na score because of the errors).
Sana magrecruit na sila ng gymnasts. Or consider hiring more trainers. Marami silang magagaling na members pero hindi nareach ang full potential, like Audrey Munoz who can perform double fulls basket way back 2011. Last 2015 yun pa din ang ineexecute niya. Hindi man lang naging two skills in one toss. Hay UP please please it's time to up your game

I don't understand why the UP head coach can't get over the results and boycotted this year's UAAP. First of all Cheerleading is a subjective sport. It's a sport where in you have panel of judges who scores and decides who the winners are. That's the very nature of the sport and it will never change. Second, The NU pep squad is better than the UP pep when technicalities are concerned because most of the NU pep members are gymnasts. . Lastly, The UAAP CDC has had some really questionable outcomes/winners before prior to last year's CDC. (ex. when UP won 2010 and FEU was only 1st runner up and many more..) but still no university has ever boycotted the CDC because of the results.
The UP pep and their coach think that they're better and bigger than the UAAP but there's a difference between school pride and just PRIDE.
Personally, I wouldn't suggest that the UP pep should replace it's trademark songs, style and creativity but I really think that they should change their coach(lalala) because they need someone who doesn't have that much PRIDE and someone who can make them technically better. Look at AdU, new coach and they just had an awesome routine. FEU new coach as well. Same with NU they changed their coaches last 2011 and look at them now.

I think what you were trying to convey was: the UAAP board of judges considered the RESULTS of the competition to be valid even though the UP pep has been questioning and protesting the results.

NU won. aren't you happy for them? hindi ba makatulog teh? and isa pa, it's not just cheerleading, kaya nga cheerdance eh. magkaiba yun. at wow, sinuggest mo pa na palitan si coach lala? yung tao sa likod kung bakit mas lalo nakilala ang UP pep at ang nakaisip ng mga theme nila. yung taong nagbigay kahulugan sa UP pep at kaya kakaiba ang UP pep sa lahat. and probably the reason behind all the themes na sumulpot after ng UP tribo nung 2008. did you ever wonder hindi na sila umulit ng katulad nun na theme? kasi alam nila na lahat ng ibang squad gagawin ang ginawa nila so nagaround the world theme nga naman lahat na hanggang ngayon e theme pa din nila. kaya wag ka mangialam sa bagay na hindi mo naman alam and seemingly, hindi mo maintindihan. :)

Again, they cannot get over with the results because the judges considered their protest to be valid. Meaning:
1. If I am not mistaken, filing a protest before, during, or after the announcement of the winners is PROHIBITED. It will result to the team's DISQUALIFICATION. UP filed a formal protest after the announcement and the judges acknowledged it and was considered VALID.
2. If the protest wasn't acknowledged at all, UP's 2nd RU finish can be revoked because of disqualification, and they will be replaced by FEU who at that time ranked 4th. But it didn't happen, because again, the protest was considered valid.
3. Acknowledging such protest means that the questions thrown at them must be answered - and UP didn't hear anything from them. Pinaghintay sila sa wala.
One thing that's bugging me these days: BAWAL BA ANG PRONE DISMOUNT? What's considered to be a prone dismount? (General definition: Prone dismount - Landing on the abdomen after a stunt or toss.) Never kong nakitaan ng prone dismount ang UP. Pero nung 2015 at 2014 (at pinakamadami kong beses na nakitaan non) ay NU. Even UST nag di-dismount ng abdomen ang una. It was questioned by UP and was never answered. Hopefully you can enlighten me with this one as I see you as someoe who just loves the sport and won't be subject to any forms of bias. :)
Anyway, I am not Coach Lala. My name and her nickname was just coincidental LOL. I watched UP's performance at Indonesia (the cheer mixed) and it was just like their Pasasalamat routine. Same stunts, tumblings, and difficulty. I must admit that I am a bit disappointed. I am expecting more from them. Hindi na kasi pwedeng idahilan yung "hindi kasi kami gymnasts". At the end of the day, it all breaks down to what the teams have shown at yun ang sole basis for judging. Ni wala akong nakitang level 6 na toss sa kanila. Same double fulls, kick double. Eh 2011 pa lang ginagawa na nila yon. Parang mas malakas pa sa kanila ang AdU ngayon.

Be reminded that I am not against NU. I am not pro-UP either. I am pro-transparency. Appreciation of the cheer elements, aesthetics, dance, the performance itself. Deduct points if an element needs deductions. Give credit to where credit is due.
I can be against an ideology or an argument or a person, but NEVER on a team's performance. How can you hate on something na pinaghirapan for ilang months? Oras, tulog, dugo, pawis, bulsa, lahat inilaan dyan, tapos you go on hating a team's performance OR worse, the team itself, dahil lang di mo sila type? Wag ganon ate.

Had the same thoughts with most of you guys when I watched this for the 1st time. But the UP Pep Squad FB admin answered to criticisms. They didn't directly answer, but the response is implying that the skills shown here are downgraded. And it's pretty obvious when you watch it again. Definitely kaya na nilang mag-double down pero hindi nila ginawa.
They simply showed the creativity behind their routine and have it shown to the fans, without revealing the skills they've worked on. And we all know UP keeps on making improvements every year like the rest of the teams.
But if you look at the pyramids, damn! I think that gives a preview or a teaser of how much improvement they've made. If you look at the partner stunts at 2:44 as well, sobrang komportable na din ng mga flyers at bases nila at sinadya na lang nilang mag-prep level just to avoid injuries. But I'm estimating nakapag-train na sila ng full extension mount, and/or baka naka-heel stretch na yung mga flyers nila.
Pyramid at 1:03, the body position of the top flyers are also looking too comfortable. Baka in the actual CDC, naglagay pa sila ng other transitions, etc.
I'm also pretty sure they've worked on their tosses. If you look at the sequence at 3:44, walang masiyadong gumagawa ng bird front sa CDC dati kasi mahirap na skill siya, pero yung flyers ng UP, nakapagdagdag pa sila ng full twist, at travelling toss pa. Definitely, may mga nakatago pa yang skills.
Overall I think it makes sense not to show all out the new skills they've acquired this year. Otherwise, yun na yung paghahandaan ng ibang teams next year, assuming na sasali sila sa CDC 2017.

don't you get it? unfair kasi. some of us gusto lang sila kapag champion sila and then kapag hindi na you say these kinds of words sa kanila. kapag may mas magaling dun na sila. at yung NU ginawa nila yun kasi kulelat sila dati. as in pinalitan nila lineup nila na hindi namn kailangan ng UP!! yung UP they won because of originality and creativity. they strived hard mula sa pagiging runner up ng UST hanggang sa maging champions sila pero ang NU they won kasi nakapagrecruit sila ng mga gymnasts. see the difference?
jojo'skie Tolores - I concur with you sir. Im also a fan of UP Pep, but I think Coach Lala and them need to step up the game. UAAP CDC now is disparate, and I do think it's beacuse of NU who heaved the bar up so high. And whatever NU did (agressive recruitment around the country, proper techniques training, etc) it's still undeniable that they're on the right track. That's why other schools did also the same thing just to level up their skills and their routine. I do wish UP Pep will manage to be on the right pace again. Hoping the best for them..

3. Championship Rank: UAAP - #1 (based on 20 medals), followed by #2 UST (16 medals) , #3 FEU (15 medals), #4 De La Salle (6 medals) and #5 NU (5 medals).
Isn't this amazing? I do not think there is any other (Phi) team who can top or at least equal the accomplishments of this team at this time.

tho nadisappoint ako sa hindi nila pagsali ngayon season ng UAAP still UP pep yan eh ... nakakamiss lang yung routine niyo nung 2012 na kahit ang daming flaws pinakita niyo na palaban ang UP sana next year ibalik niyo yung attitude na yun but in a good way ah? hindi naman magkaaway ang UP at kung ano pa mang school sa UAAP fans lang naman nila yung magkakaaway ahahaha

I am really positive that this year, 2017, UP will show new skills for the upcoming UAAP CDC.
I've seen their tosses in this routine, hindi sila ganyan mag execute ng basic tosses. Full twist nila normally, ang bagal. May height, pero yung pagturn nung katawan mabagal. Pano ko nasabi? UP Pep 2015 Group Stunts, Sam Corrales, full twist na ang pinakamahirap na toss na inexecute nya sa routine.
Tosses:
0:53 Dito, sa pinakaunang toss, sya yung nasa middle. Hindi sya ganon magtwist, na mabilis at kapowerful. Pati si Jari, katabi ni Sam sa kanan. Last 2015 mabagal din magtwist ang katawan nya kahit single full twist lang yan, ngayon iba na. Trust me I am this observant sa individual capabilities ng UP Pep members cuz, yknow, fangirling since who-knows-when.
2:23 Si Fae Pascua sa bandang kaliwa yung medyo front, opening yon para sa 2 skills in one toss na stunt. Could be x-Out (pero sure ako hindi to X-Out dahil straight ang knees nya) to double fulls.
Tumblings:
Seen that landing at 1:34? May momentum pa para ituloy yung tumbling pass. At apat sila, may isang babae. Can anyone calrify kung mas mataas ba ang binibigay na scores sa tumblings pag babae ang nag eexecute? I've seen some comment na mas mataas ang scores ng girls sa tumbling pass na full twist ang landing compared sa boys.
Dance, Pyramids, Aesthetics, Musicality:
Malakas pa din sila. Ito talaga yung kahit kailan hindi nawala sa UP.
Theory: May natatagong skills ang UP. Ang lakas ng pakiramdam ko. Tagging my co cheerducators +terrific1290 +poke noob guys tag nyo pa nga yung iba nating friends. What do you think of my theory?

hindi nakakabuti sa UP pepsquad ang pagboycott. kasi it made them more degrading for being called a sore losers. it doesnt help their school's spirits. instead of lifting them up, sa mga comments for their team sobrang daming negative vibes that will definitely affect them at lalo sila maprepressure next year. lets see if magiimprove ang elements and tosses ng UP pepsquad next year. show us a performance next year na gaya ng NU hehe peace
Chris Real Estate We in the UP Community love them as much as when they were competing. They don't exist to please other schools, they're cheering for the UP Community first and foremost. If they decide not to join again next year, all-out pa rin ang support sa kanila.
