@@RA-oj3mg Every club has a toxic base in social media, I´ve seen a fair share of West Ham supporters absolutely rip their own players on twitter. Lingard was always well liked by the majority of United fans and his qualities as a player was always there to be seen. That being said there were serious flaws in Lingards game, flaws that United couldn´t ignore anymore with the hope that he´d come good, which is why they bought Bruno

As a Man United fan, i think signing a permanent deal with Westham would be good for his career. He is getting game time, plays with so much freedom and is just carefree on the pitch. All the best to him

When we went into the first lockdown and I saw how hard Jesse was working on Snapchat and on all his social media, I knew he was going to come back with a bang . People said to me “are you taking the piss” “you must be joking” or “ you really don’t know football do you” and I said you just wait and see. No more needs to be said. Hats off to you Jesse I always have and always will believ in you . Keep going

Unless you have a lizard brain, you would be a complete fool to not want Lingard. It's West Ham, not Man City. Just because he wasn't a great player at Utd (he was a good player however) doesn't mean he was a complete flop. Scored some crazy goals in big matches as well.

Genuinely buzzing to see him doing so well at West Ham. He’s always had the quality, I used to worry whenever I’d see his name on our opponents team sheet as a Charlton fan as he’d always run the show. Glad to see he’s showing what he can do again after everything he’s been through too.

@@dogeatinghomework (seriously?) If ya ask me United fans got "behind" Lingard when he went to West Ham. He started playing and scoring got his mojo back (I guess). Now he's their golden boy...and ontop of that he is being given a 2nd chance by getting the call up by Southgate.
@@yellow9349 99% of us are happy to see him doing well there and think its for the best if he signs for them in the summer though - he played very poorly for a long spell through 2019 and 2020 before the loan due to whatever was going on in his personal life and the trolling online, but this was never at the hands of United fans. We just kind of moved past it and got on with the season. His weakened confidence was largely perpetuated by keyboard warriors from rival clubs trying their very best to pick him apart, as they and the football media often like to do with United players.

@Billy Shabir James and Bassaka were signed almost the EXACT same time. James is not going to last (fast but a selfish player). There has already been rumblings about him. Bassaka will probably be gone. BOTH of those signings were knee jerk reactions to offset the departures of Lukaku, Fellini, Herrara, Sanchez and Smallings. Erik Bailly has had a contract with United forever (with Zlatan) he's accident prone. Didn't even know he still played for united til this year.....Gone

Admittedly, his turn around is one of the best in prem history. I mean the dude was a literal meme of the footballing world, and now people have abruptly changed their tune.
Wonderfully intelligent player who knows how to make space for himself with his first touch. Great game sense in that he knows when to carry, when to drive, when to release. Can pick a pass, sublime first touch, great power in his shots, good pace. Utd must be bonkers! From a Villa fan...we witnessed his renaissance up close and it hurt! But great to see a talented player come back with such evident love for the game. More power to you, JL.

there are 2 types of manchester united fans. There are the actual supporters of the club who understand the traditions and culture and have seen Jesse grow up at the club, they were disappointed to see that Jesse had to leave to further his career, it was for the best but now he's back on track.. and then there are the "fans" who are oblivious to the culture and still berate the guy and say "we" don't want him back.. too ignorant to realise Jesse represents all things great about MUFC, a youth product who rose through the ranks to score an fa cup winner, that's what this club is built on.. if you claim to be a fan but don't want to see this man succeed at manchester united then the reality is it's just not your club and you should stop telling people you support them

Nobody deserves the abuse he was getting from sections of our fanbase, but the criticism was fair. His output was poor, he wasn't creating, he had a brief really good couple months under Jose but around that he was largely underwhelming. That being said, it's great to see him doing well on the pitch and feeling in a better space mentally.
