I was in the audience for this! Ruby had just come out with her new book about mental health and was doing "An evening with Ruby Wax". Carrie (and Garry) came along and joined her on stage. The whole thing was slightly chaotic but hilarious. The evening finally ended when uniformed "paramedics" came down the middle aisle with a gurney. Carrie climbed on and waved as they wheeled her out of the theater. Ruby stuck around for a while and signed copies of her book.
Ruby and Carrie were such good friends ,Would have loved to have spent an evening drinking with them...the laughs and conversation miss you miss Fisher ......RIP
I could listen to this all day! I didn't like Ruby Wax at all until this sit down. Now she's my freaking hero. She also reminded me to take my meds. These two are part of the tribe I can't find for sure. #RIPCarrieFisher
❤️💕❤️ Ruby, you are an academic and comic genius. The way you have interpreted Mindfulness, neuroscience and all that goes with it, is life changing. Like you said in your book the shelves of bookshops are overloaded with self help books. In my opinion you are the only writer who gives a practical and accessible way to actually HELP the self! I think it’s clear, I love you and your work! So disappointed I missed your recent show in Glasgow, (I’m the narcoleptic yoga teacher who sang your praises at the Citizens’ Theatre). As for Carrie Fisher, she is another incredible human being whose honesty and talent is sorely missed. Xxx
Two comedy genius’s together. I love them both so much. Carrie is much missed. Ruby is as brilliant as ever openly talking about mental health and her continued struggles but with her inimitable sense of humour
More like Ruby talks, Carrie listens. Not complaining, I love both these woman equally and have tremendous respect for their wisdom and knowledge. I loved listening to Ruby talk about the brain, her passion for it is so refreshing. RIP Carrie Fisher
Exactly! I literally thought Carrie and Gary wee hosting the interview. Wax is trying to steal the interview, from her own guest. She won't even give the respect to Carrie for going on this silly show. Carrie was so kind and gracious with people. Carrie was a wonderful spirit, the best mother she could be to Billy, her daughter. I feel kind of cheated in that the Wax woman dominated this show. But Carrie was, a class act of the highest caliber. No pun intended. Carrie was just so lovely and a kick ass friend to all.

I adore Ruby and Carrie so flame off...I just wish I understood why women who were so attractive and interesting did that horrible plastic surgery, they didn't need it at all. I am thankful to have seen and heard them talk on many occasions. Carrie was the QUEEN 👑...woman knew how to dish.
I recently decided to watch Carrie Fisher interview videos. (The “Bright Lights” documentary is terrific.) Then I found this. Witty, outrageous and hilarious.
As a former sound man, although I love wireless lapels, I always kept long isolated XLR cables and 3-4 SM58’s. In the old days kiddos, you could get interference with wireless systems on every channel you switched too. After first issue I was running 2 extra channels muted with SM58’s ready. I may try to fix the issue a 2nd time but then I’d hand them the 58’s and say sorry, you’ll have to hold them but you could always hear! I miss the old hardwired days. I love modern tech, but if a computer or network shuts down now you’re toast! In the old days you’d have 2-3 extra power amps, solder, wire strippers and Gaft tape and I could always track down the issue and fix it while the band or speaker was speaking. Back in business without a few minutes 90% of the time. I played a big Casino gig once and the computer network crashed and there was nothing to be done. So I borrowed a acoustic guitar and asked the crowd to be as quiet as possible after clapping between songs and I sang as hard and loudly as I could and did the show as best I could with zero amplification. I’ve done it a few times in the past 30+ years.
Much as I agree I have to disagree as well the whole point of this is for Ruby to be interviewed by Carrie so Ruby can promote her sudo science garbage. She is a strange woman who is on the verge of starting a cult of her own but I do believe she means well and anyone who highlights the reality of mental health is fine by me.

Ruby is such a narcissisist sometimes.I would much rather have listened to Carrie more,Ruby overspeaks people so often it gets tiring to watch her.She really needs to be more generous and respectful of others people's time and voice.

So here is how Ruby does her bits. She invites a famous actor to an interview, then spends 55 minutes talking about herself, while stealing an audience who came to see Carrie Fisher. Carrie is slightly interested in taking the "interviewee" until she said "I'm more interested in you going back to Oxford" at age into her 50's. but then Waxing, does her Bit again and steals yet another huge part of the interview. Good grief this woman is too much! No wonder the Brits love her.
Carrie is interviewing Ruby for her book, and they are both good friends and just talking about anything and everything. I think it's mostly bitter youtube commenters who are expecting a video specifically about Ruby and her book on mental health being equally about Carrie, and then not even getting that they're both tight friends for about 30 years... yeah.
