      LOL , I thought you were on to a winner there. What about Deep Freeze? the stuff used for muscular pain relief . Or Air Duster from the pound shop, but used up side down, that gets ridiculously cold in your hands when you do that.

    A can of air blaster from poundland Works. You have to invert the can so that you are delivering the content as a liquid.

  • @anthonypalmer8321

    Should have used lynx ice chill😂

  • @garethwilliams3600
    @garethwilliams3600 Před 5 měsíci +9

    You should have inverted the can - you need liquid to hit the pipe, the liquid will evaporate and take the heat from the pipe freezing it.
    Doing a normal spray will cause the evaporation to occur in the can - the can will freeze as you found but the spray will not be cold enough to freeze the pipe
    Also you should add a disclaimer that the spray in that quantity can be toxic to breathe so well ventilated area only!

    Hi J, oh well good for a laugh, nice try. I used to freeze service pipes to properties when I was a service layer on the local water board, when we needed to change an outside stop tap in the ground, if we were not close to the main where the Ferrel could be shut to stop water. Generally, a really positive sign is you will hear the ice forming and 'cracking' noises as it freezes, like you say then leave it a few minutes, not long, and have everything ready for the cut and exchange. Funny vid though, always love your positive happy manner. A+ for effort, D- for effect lol

  • @aserta

    Probably would with a large peltier pad. A rad on the other side and a 12 battery. I've frozen water with one.

  • @dimitar4y
    @dimitar4y Před 5 měsíci +2

    I've tried various electric based pipe freezers that use peltier cells. They only work on pipes up to like 6mm. On 15mm forget it.
    You need to consider that water has a huge capacity for temperature, and a small can of deo doesn't really have that much "energy" available.

    • @HA05GER
      @HA05GER Před 5 měsíci +1

    😂thanks for trying what a lot of us have wondered
    The lynx isn't coming out fast enough to freeze the pipe as you know, once it expands it loses energy.
    Maybe a wd40 nozzle on the can or as a couple have said, air blaster cans might work.

    Hey mate, I've got an interview as an Air Source Heat Pump installer; I've not done plumbing properly for 2 years, I did it for 4 as a plumbers mate and college for two years before that. Some of my general knowledge of plumbing has gone right out the window and I tried looking for my old City and Guild Level 3 Course work but I cannot find it. I tried looking for stuff online to help me revise through it but I'm struggling. Any advice, from anyone would be appreciated :)

    Good try Jaz old boy, but you need to use inverted cans of Duster Buster!! They were a quid from the Pound Shops. I’ve used 13mm wall foam lagging, tied both ends with a Cable Tie & Tape along the Joint. 3 tins will do a 22mm Pipe.
    You’ll know it’s frozen when you see frost around the end of the lagging.
    Tom Plumb has a video showing how it’s really done.

      @dimitar4y well technically you you would only use the tin for freezing the section of pipe. Once pipe frozen the gas in the area would disperse but pipe would be frozen for longer than gas would stick around. Wouldn't need that much gas either. The temp of the gas is so low it would freeze pretty quick. I've used it on plants and it froze them in seconds. Few seconds of gas not going to blow your house up

    How about a co2 fire extinguisher with a regulator on it, such as you'd use with a fish tank or in brewing?. Co2 comes out at about -60 celcius. extinguishers are about 15 quid for 2 kilos, enough to do hundreds of pipes. Regulator is 50 quid.
