    Si owner since 2017, rev hang is completely removed with a tune. Plus you get extra power! Aside from that, my only other issue has been the pedal spacing. Acuity makes a great pedal spacer with three different positions, so you can pick the one that suits your heel toe technique. Lastly the clutch is really fragile, so any added power results in slipping. All in all I love the car, and have a few more mods I want to add just to button it down for my preferences. Thanks for the video!

    Great review and great driving. I have a '19 coupe, and find it to be the sweet spot as that is the year they added the volume knob but doesn't have Honda Sensing or pumped in sound. The final drive was also shortened in the 2020 MY so gas mileage suffers a little bit for it. Only thing I feel I missed out on were the LED's, I'm okay without everything else. It's great as a daily driver coming from a third gen Miata. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    I bought a 2020 SI in November of 2019. Got just have 3.5k miles on it. Gas milage is amazing. Handling is tight and predictable. Acceleration is strong but not overwhelming. The car is very comfortable, very fun to push if you like "spirited driving", and also easy to live with as a daily commuter. I still find myself looking forward to driving the car every time that I get in. Got it for exactly $25,900. If there is one thing I wish they had changed, I dislike the blacked out rims. Regular aluminum alloy rims would have looked better to my eyes. Aside from that, you really can't buy much more car for under $26,000. It's an easy car to fall in love with.

    Just bought myself a 2017 Honda Accord V6 and love it. Averaging 30-31mpg and it's a great daily. I'd considered the 2020 Civic Si Sedan and was leaning towards it but the Accord V6 Coupe was cheaper and fully loaded as opposed to the Civic Si. Both were fantastic cars from the test drives. Would've loved the Type-R, even when you could daily it it's not it's really not ideal for it. As a adult who has no kids or people riding with me a Coupe felt more ideal to me and I wanted something with a bit more power so the V6 was the way to go. That and it's a sleeper. People don't expect an Accord to have nearly 300hp. It's somewhat disheartening that Honda stopped production of the V6 because it performs so well and sounds good to boot. I get why they are doing this as it's more cost efficient and it's easier to meet fuel economy standards. Great review and advice man.

      Nice. Did you get the manual? If so how is it? Either way does it feel light weight and agile like a typical Honda?
      Drove my friends 16' Honda civic and its fun to drive. Lightweight, handling, and feels faster than numbers show. I have a type R and i love it.

    • @viktorbryce951
      @viktorbryce951 Před 4 lety +6

      @@drepop803 I did and it's very responsive and light shift throws. I'll never not own a manual as I love the enjoyment of being connected with the driving experience. Will never own a automatic I refuse to. Now it does indeed feel light and agile as you'd expect but with the naturally aspirated V6 power and torque are right there. 278 hp and 252lb-ft of torque so it puts it down to the road. Can't imagine what'd happen if I threw a turbo on it, likely not the best idea. For right now I'll enjoy it in it's stock condition until the Warranty runs out.
      Now even with the traction control on it just screeches the wheels. During my test drive I knew it'd have a lot of torque and admittedly I underestimated how much as chirped the tires while in 3rd gear. It's easy to catch yourself speeding in it. Maybe it's just me and I got a lead foot. Personally I feel the car just wants to be driven hard as you rev it out to 5000rpm and feel the V-Tech kicking in. Before this I had a 2006 Mazdaspeed6 for nearly 12 years and before that just a plan Dodge Neon. Must admit I miss the Mazda with it's AWD and Turbo but I'm really impressed by how great the clutch,drive-ability, and comfortable the interior is. Just wish they'd built arm-rest up onto the doors for you. They sit right low with the seats so that's rather irritating whilst on a long distance drive.
      Now steering wise it's not sports car level quick but it's very forgiving and toes you where you want to go if that makes any sense. You do get a good response back from the front wheels though maybe not to the same degree as with the Civic. Being so much heavier than the Civic it does suffer snappy turn in and how quickly one can break. The breaks handle well and feel strong though I got to zonk them as the system is a tad eager to activate ABS during hard driving. Other than that it's a fun and reliable car.
      Just be warned as a Coupe your C-Pillar does obstruct visibility. So just got to bend the neck around it to make sure nobody is coming down lanes. The other is the wide doors so it's best to try to park away from others. Nothing sucks more than getting boxed in and you can't open your doors.

    • @viktorbryce951
      @viktorbryce951 Před 4 lety +1

      @@williamgomez5876 Thank you William. Thus far I wouldn't dream of trading it. I came from a Mazdaspeed6 AWD that was the only one of it's kind regrettably. If Mazda & Ford only continued that partnership. Was such a low-key amazing car. Loved that car and drove it till it just wouldn't run anymore. To much rust and engine lost compression in Cylinder Number 1. Had 171,000 miles on the car owned it for 12 years as a daily in the State of Pennsylvania. Vehicle restoration just wasn't ideal or worth the energy,time, nor money. I'm admittedly a enthusiast driver through & through. I like unique vehicles that you just don't see a lot of.
      As you said it's low key fast which is one of many reason why I'd bought it. I'd originally wanted something with AWD but the cost of say a Focus RS, Golf R, WRX/STi was astronomically more than the Accord V6. Even another MS6 most were poorly maintained or had tons of mileage on them. Reliability, mpg, insurance cost, financing, tires, and other upkeep were so much more. I've gotten to the point where if your attentive and observant you don't need AWD for snowy weather conditions. So yeah if anything I'll keep the V6 as the daily until later on down the road I get something strictly for snowy weather. Then again if the right offer comes along I may trade or sell it though I don't see that likely to ever happen.

      I too own a 9th Gen (2014 Sedan EXL) and was thinking of trading it in for an SI or a Type R. But as someone pointed out, these cars are legend and are no longer produced. I’ve got a K&N intake and Borla Type S exhaust, & Tein coilovers and those mods really bring out an aggressive side of the vehicle- something that made me excited to drive this car all over again. The only thing I regret was not getting a manual V6- it’s the only missing fun factor from the vehicle. I’m also about to pay it off and jumping into another car means being in debt again for another 5+ years which I really want to avoid. If they still offer these in a manual 5 years from now as well as a Type R, then it’s probably worth the wait. It can be my 1/2 a century 50th birthday gift to myself.

      Will last far longer than the 1.5 turbo engines with direct injected oil dilution issues which are still prevalent despite people saying otherwise, and no carbon buildup either. And you still have Vtec.
      The sport sedan with the 6 speed manual is the smart buy for a long term daily driver without question.
      All civics even the si aren’t fast at all. It’s a fun to drive economy car, let’s be honest.
      The sport trim to me is the smartest buy for longevity, fun to drive, and looks. (Rear bumper on the SI sedan looks goofy as hell compared to the sport sedan).

Yeah the whole stereotype of it being a ricer is there, but for a new car this is a great fuel efficient and somewhat sporty option. I’m glad to see that the manual is still there and this car still makes decent power, not the best, but decent. The only thing I wish they didn’t do with this car is have that fake engine noise play into the cabin. It’s such a ear sore, and it’s all I can hear in the video. I’d definitely consider owning one of these if they didn’t put that in there

    Things to note: I'm self employed so the lease will be tax deductible to my knowledge. However, I travel a lot. Historically, I think I average around 20k miles a year. Granted, with a brand new SI and now an American Airlines cardholder, I don't see myself driving that extensively. Like I said, any bit of info will help!

      @@JustinSherrod1991 The 2021 is supposed to be a whole new engine, which I guess is why there is a price difference. If it's getting the numbers it's rumored to on a stable and more efficient engine platform then it will still be tempting...even if that were the case though I'd still wait for the second or third generation so they iron out some of the issues. But if it is a lot more than the current STI then I'll probably be looking at the Type R or A-Spec Acura...the front grill is very nice especially on that thing. Yeah the Acura is also an old car technically but it ages well :)

    I’ve got a 2020 SI coupe and my father has a 2020 SI Sedan, and in my opinion they feel very different comparing them to each other. I felt that the Sedan had a better balance of weight transfer, and more understeery. The coupe is kinda iffy, I notice a LOT of oversteer and I hate it. I throw both into the same corner at the same speed and my coupe just wants to whip out the tail end, but the sedan stay planted and goes. Kinda irritating, but I’ve got suspension coming in this week. Also, I hate the active sound crap, braking mitigation, and rev hang. If they eliminated all of those I feel these cars would be perfect! I think it’s got enough power to have fun with. Gas mileage wise they’re phenomenal, getting 30mpgs for both the sedan and coupe. My father and I will be taking them both through the Tail of the Dragon too come June, and I’m beyond excited. Got Whiteline suspension components on their way right now and plan to get new tires since the stock ones aren’t the best for hard cornering

      Can you explain in idiot terms what is rev hang, and is the coupe or sedan quicker in a straight line?

    • @ATA_Blake
      @ATA_Blake Před 4 lety

      RealDarkFilm So rev hang happens when you push in the clutch and the RPMs rise a few hundred before coming back down. It is for emissions, but I’m not entirely sure what it has to do with said emissions. It’s just annoying and does not allow for smooth shifts unless you wait an extra few seconds. As for which is faster, definitely the coupe in a straight line, but in the corners I’d say the sedan. The sedan is more balanced as the extra length of it acts as a counterweight. It will help keep the car level while cornering. The coupe has nothing special holding it back from coming right out on ya. Smaller wheelbase and less of a counterweight I guess you could say. The rear wing is full aesthetics on the street and back roads until you hit the track. There is where you can actually build up enough speed in the corner to make use of the downforce
