We talk about Alpha or Alpha M: how to sell anything. The sales pitch not only applies to selling. Whether you like it or not, you are selling yourself all the time. Job interviews, dates, meeting with potential friends, people have to decide whether to invest their time and energy in you or not which is why it can be incredibly helpful to study sales not just for those occasions where to actually have a product to sell but for all the other times when the product is actually you. And that's why in this video, we are looking at Alpha M. who is probably the single best salesman that I have seen on CZcams. And apparently, his numbers bear that out.
Whereas other channels struggle to integrate sponsors in a way that doesn't get pushed back and hate from their audience, Aaron has a promotion in almost all of his videos and his audience seems to love it, they meme about it and they buy in droves. So today, we are going to look at what you can learn from Alpha about selling especially when you're selling yourself as we so often have to like in a date or an interview scenario. And keep in mind this is not the only way to effectively sell; it's just some of the things that Aaron does really effectively.
    1:06 Build rapport
2:54 After building rapport, you can now give recommendations
4:42 Demonstrate the result and the product
5:57 You're really selling yourself and the product is just a part of it
8:00 Be congruent with what you're saying

    1. Build rapport (compliments, jokes, relatable stories) -> "I like you" & "I am like you"
    2. Talk about the results people want to get with the product (confidence, status, problems solved) -> "People don't buy drills, they buy holes"
    3. Demonstrate the product or show the results (demos, videos, using it yourself) -> "Build trust, because uncertainty is often what prevents people from buying"
    4. Emotions are contagious, so people buy your emotional state (certainty, enthusiasm, confidence)-> "People don't buy the product, they buy you"
    5. If you feel like you are selling a product / yourself and you can't be enthusiastic about: Improve the product or move on / Improve yourself and reflect about the things that you have going for you.

''You're really selling yourself and the product is just part of it'', and ''you're selling yourself all the time''
this is freaking key. People are emotional creatures, we're buying emotions, not things.

I had a classmate give a presentation once.
He had ugly glasses, crooked neck, pronounced Adam's apple, girly voice, red curly hair and even had a very un-nice nickname. And, despite all that, he had so much confidence, so much charisma and presented so well that afterwards everyone was clapping for him.
Just goes to show, if you own what you have, nobody can get to you.

I think you missed one crucial point. As someone that has been watching Aaron's videos everyday for the past 3 years I think what makes me trust him the most is that he's not afraid to open up and be vulnerable.
Even though Aaron is the best example of someone who is insanely confident he still isn't afraid to talk about his past mistakes, insecurities, and even cry when he feels sad or emotional. When someone is willing to open up it makes us all trust them more than if they were just pretending to have it all figured out.
    Thanks Charlie!

This is great for anyone who wants to earn more money through CZcams with affiliate marketing. I binge-watched all the videos over just one weekend and I noticed so much stuff about other people that I work with (and myself) and how consistently their relationships develop-independently of their skills. It is shocking how someone with charismatic and persuasive approach can win customers so much faster than a much more skilled person, who just doesn`t approach them right or pushes them, rather than leads...

Don't go overboard with the self-love, guys. As a woman, I'm constantly interacting with guys who think they're the best thing on earth and I suspect that a lot of that over-confidence is just them trying to psyche themselves up. Confidence is great but it has to be backed up by substance, and your emotions should come from a place of sincerety and respect, both for yourself and for the other person. Don't overdo confidence to the point of arrogance and narcissism, which is a big turn off.

See this is why dating is so fucked up. Women want men to be confident...but not over-confident. They want men to perfect dressers, but for some reason those guys wearing pants on their knees are getting tail. They want them to be doating...but not stifling. They want to be good looking or not good looking...it doesn't matter if they are rich or not rich...They want someone to listen to them (but when we offer them advice...they don't take it). You correct them, and then they get offended, and take it personally. They want someone who is dominating, but not too dominating. To return their calls, but no right away. Don't want to be needed. If women don't even know what they want when it comes to men, how do we know what they want? its not even a relationship, as men try to seek a continous state of approval 24/7.

I especially love the context of doing it on the tail of a video about selling so we learn how sales pitches work, and then we can see it in action - everyone is on the same page so it feels better.

This as many other videos i have been watching on this channel are truly amazing, i really love the way you explain topics so simply yet you manage to make it a full piece of knowledge. I'm starting to grow and i feel very motivated about it and I would like to know if you're interested in making a video about the language of clothing and the psychology of color and colorimetry. I've heard it doesn't matter to you personally and i respect that opinion, but don't you think it would be an interesting topic for the channel since is part of non-verbal communication and communicational techniques? Creativity can be the price for leaving the comfort zone if you're willing to take it to the next level!

I personally do not like the implication of having to "sell" myself to people, as if I should do any of my actions or moral duties for the sake of exchanging something in return. Like I get this video is about persuasion and it is a necessary skill to have in life in order to make peace and love with any relationship, but I view myself as a product is kind of removing my inherent value as a human being, that being everyone and I deserve to have dignity, life, and agency. These are all things a product does not have as a product is used to serve a service. And let us remember that not all human beings can be like that, especially if maybe they have mental or physical ailments. Certainly, you Charlie, who has studied philosophy, see how this presents an ethical problem here.

You're just being too cynical. You are a product. You're the product of your childhood, your friends and family's influence, and your moral structure. That doesn't make you less of a human or an individual, I'd argue it's more so. And it's not like in every interaction with people you're trying to manipulate them. You're just putting your best foot forward and showing your value.

    • @TheGeorgeD13
      @TheGeorgeD13 Před 6 lety +7

NOPE. Quite the opposite. Viewing yourself as a product INCREASES your inherent value as a human being and INCREASES your ability to have what you deserve in dignity, life, and agency.

Someone commented that "a date is not a sale". But YES, dates ARE selling yourself. Here's why:
Most dates include some conversation, right? During that conversation, both people are trying to "sell" themselves by talking about their interests, possessions, experiences, or talents. If each of us was a product, those things would be our product "features".
Our personality is also one of our "features", but it's also one of our most important "benefits", because people want to be around someone with a personality they really like. Your personality is a benefit to them because it makes them feel happier or smarter or calmer, etc. So showing your real personality on a date is important! As COC says, most people can tell when someone is being genuine, or fake.
What most people usually DON'T talk about on a first or second date---or maybe never at all---is how our "features" would benefit the other person. Most of us think talking about "benefits" would be too strange or desperate for a first or second or even third date, right? So instead, most of us rely on our "features" (interests, talents, experiences, possessions, and most importantly personality) and hope that the other person likes those enough to go on more dates, even if they don't see any "benefit" to them.
But we CAN also promote our personality as a "benefit" without seeming weird or desperate. You can invite your date to your favorite place or event or activity you like, and convince them that they'll have a great time with you, even if they aren't so enthusiastic about the idea of doing it. If you're already coming across as a genuinely funny or interesting person on this date, then "selling" your "benefit" of being funny or interesting or adventurous is not a hard sell. COC has talked about how to do this in other videos.
