  • Finding total body seated strength workouts for seniors has never been easier. There are hundreds, if not thousands of videos, articles, and images demonstrating the essential movements needed to maintain a healthy and strong body. The human body consists of around 650 muscles and 206 bones in which the muscles attach themselves to produce force for daily functions.
    As we age, we begin to lose muscle mass if we don't do anything to counter this process known as sarcopenia. Sarcopenia is a natural part of aging in which all humans will experience starting after age 30. people who lead a sedentary lifestyle begin to lose as much as 3% to 5% per decade. Even if you are active, you will still experience some muscle loss.
    Getting strong and healthy is the most important thing you can do as you age. Just because you lose some muscle, it doesn't mean you can't get some of it back. Finding workouts that designed specifically with seniors in mind should be on the top of your list with no time or muscle to waste.
    As a Senior, you should incorporate 150 minutes of moderate endurance and strengthening activities into your week. These exercises can include walking, swimming, cycling, and some weight training each day to improve strength, flexibility, and balance.
    Not to mention the importance of building your immune system along with increased strength in your bones to avoid fractures and dangerous falls. Applying this total body seated strength workout for seniors will significantly improve your ability to function throughout the day without feeling fatigued and low on energy.

      I’m a 60 year old woman with 3 fractures. A shoulder, right wrist and right leg. Had a broken a tibial plateau with 2 surgeries. Went through hell. You are the only video I’ve seen and can do it. Some of these people move 100 mph when training. I can’t do those! This is a great one for me. Thanks so much!

      @@chairfitcamp I am a 58 year old recovering from Covid, My pulmonary specialist said I had to find a way to exercise to improve my lung capacity to get off oxygen. Not off but have gone done to 2 units... I have always worked out and now with your workouts I have begun to feel like me again ... Thank you so much and I love you can do it instead of try..     I am a 75 year old lady, 5'2" weighing 170, goal 130, doing my best with the food, and I must say, I love your chair workouts, they are challenging for me a little. Chair is better for me because I have emphysema and get out of breath too fast standing, so thanks so much :) you are the best.

    Broke my toe and couldn’t practice my usual yoga and Pilates. Stumbled across this and this 65 year old is a devotee! Great workouts in a chair. I prefer a bench but definitely a powerful way to get fit. Luv this guy!

    I’m 35 with shinsplints and a tibial stress fracture that’s still fresh. Was feeling bummed out about having to reduce my activity level and searched for seated workouts and found this.     I'm 70 yr. old, have osteoarthritis of the knees, overweight, and recently broke my left wrist (still in a cast) when I was pulled to the ground by the dog I was walking. it's been a long time since doing any exercises except some walking and want to get more fit. I have been searching and trying different programs on U T., this is my first workout with you, thanks for the routine and advice throughout, just what I need going forward to hopefully avoid a knee replacement.

    Thank you so mucyh for the chair exercises. I have a bad foot I broke in an accident that will never be strong again and I am soon going to have a knee replacement. I found your videos a couple weeks ago and I try to do the exercises at least once a day but sometimes twice. I am building up my muscles and I am starting to see improvement.

    I want to thank you, I'm 61 years old and I was born with club feet. The doctors said I would never be able to walk but I did. I've had 36 surgeries and almost had to have my one of my legs amputated cause I caught stayph infection on the operating table. I can't do a lot of things with my feet and legs but I can do almost all of your exercises. Thank you so much.

After my gym closed, as well as the SENIOR CENTERS here in SEATTLE, it's been quite the CHALLENGE to find the right online workout instructor; especially when you're YOUNG AT HEART, and your body won't COOPERATE?! As you already know, there's a lot of GURUS online that have absolutely NO IDEA what they're doing. Lollll. In addition, I'm easily BORED, but NOT HAPPENING HERE!!     I love this workout. I have bad knees and bad ankles so this is low enough impact that my body can handle. I like how Donovan gives alternative execersises and he explains what muscles to concentrate on while doing a particular exercise. I do wish it had more aerobic aspect, but I'll get that elsewhere.

    I have been having heel pain. I have had Morton’s neuroma for years, and just started having heel pain. I was looking for chair workouts and found yours. Normally I get bored with exercising, but you are great.....before I know it I’m almost done. I’m 67 years old and since retiring I put on 10 pounds, then when Covid came along I put on another 10 pounds. I also have fibromyalgia. Anyhow thank you so much for doing chair workouts.

    LOVE THESE. THE MINS PASS QUICKLY ON THESE. IN OTHER WORDS, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LAST 27 MINS??? LOL. MUST HAVE BEEN THAT I WAS HAVING A GREAT TIME.
