This is still my favorate of your cars! Think of it as your 'Singer' substitute. Ive heard lots of owners actually prefer the driving dynamics of the 912 as opposed to a similaly aged 911 due to the lighter engine at the back. I hear a few more BHP can be had by adding Webber carbs and an 'exhaust'. Good luck.
Love the car. I had a left hand drive SC and 3.2. They were daily drivers so got used to them and had no issues. Might be worth getting a period mirror for other door. Make life easier in busy traffic.

Topaz Skin would be a great idea to refresh the look of the car (once the rust is taken care of). That way you'll have the original patina underneath a fresh coat of 'paint'. Just a thought.

Cool car Tom, I reckon a long number plate for the rear would look better than the square one. Of course you could go completely mad and look into a right hand drive conversion!
Put some money in the car, refresh it, give it a second life and you'll have a jewel in your hands sir. Visit Edd China or someone else who's an expert in mechanics for a complete check up, better springs, shock absorbers, proper look to the chassis, the body and search for some brown spots that you don't want to have there, a whole new interior with original seats if they still exist, complete engine clean up (get rid of old components and replace them by modern ones), new transmission, new clutch, etc. Go full on it. The Porsche deserves it and you know it. PS. Don't park your car on the parking spot for handicapped people, it doesn't make you look good.
wait until you fall in love with it....im 32 years of age and i own a 930 turbo porsche thats the same age...its a labour of love and when i looked at getting rid of it....i couldn't....i love the little beetle too much hahaha

I’m definitely going to watch as series with a classic Porsche restoration. Having read the list I’d keep a can of oil with you at all times and possibly a No Smoking within 150 yards sign!
@@jovimax They have a catalog of blank templates used on most cars. Once they match the dimension they will cut the pattern. There is nothing special about the key in his hand
@@jovimax Well porsche does not make keys. You have to remember that porsche was a luxury or revised VW beatle 50 years ago. So the Key is more specific to the barrel manufacture. Ordered tons of keys for classic cars in the past. And as you mentioned they just match various aspects of the original key, then bingo.
I'd just repair it and keep it stock, the interior is fine, the wheels are fine, the car is fine... all very fine fine. Heck, if you park it bad it will be a fine. So fine as can be!
Yes! As in the GT a classic car has character, you learn all the quirks and what works and what doesn’t. I admire you for that and good on you buying classic, it’s a stunning car and seeing what you will do with it I can’t wait!!

six grand for that list of repairs actually is fair. Probably the reason why the shop is booked out haha.

The carburetor leaks is the issue with it struggling to start.. maybe a gasket or the floats needing addressed 👍
