1970 Porsche 911T: Ticket to Ride

- Bart Kuykens has already given a lot of his time to Porsche 911s. He puts together multi-volume books about these cars and the people that own them with his own photographs, and he maintains, modifies, drives, and generally loves his own, a 1970 911T. The car featured in today’s film is Bart’s 911, but it’s also, as he describes, his ticket. To freedom, to a smile on his face after a long day. A ticket to places where he can meet people who are similarly smitten with old air-cooled Porsches, whether those places be high in the Alps or in the corner of his local car meet parking lot.

Dear Petrolicious: Please don't stop doing beautiful stories like these! Thank you.
Judging the videos from the past year they did not listen to you.... sadly
Love it when classic car owners actually drive there cares regularly and maintain the cars themselves
Nobody ever mentions a "Classic" human. Breed is becoming ever so rare.

Nobody ever mentions a "Classic" human. Breed is becoming ever so rare.
Had the same car, but with a four speed, and drove it for 14 years, and changed my life.
There is a long list of cars I love but if I had to buy one sports car and drive it for the rest of my life it would be a 911.
Marc Scordato 👍🇬🇧
There is a reason why a lot of people don't replace their 911, they buy another one.
Damn true ❤️
Heard that!
Getting my hands on a 959 is the real 911 dream.
I bought a 1977 3.0 Carrera Targa in '86 near Munich . It was priced at 32.000 BUT Since the classic dealer was a friend of my uncle i bought it all in cash he knocked of 2 grand . All in 500 Deutschmark bills . Those were the days ! Cash was king then . Now you take out big big bills they look at you in a funny way like if your are dodgy . I was only 20 years old . I must have appeared like a spoiled brat to some which t the time i guess i was a bit.
I saw the garage and it made me cry, so much it's unbelievable to have a life like this. My dream
We need to see more details on that building/garage.
What a beautiful example of such a car. It looks so raw with expression.
Love classic Porsche’s so much!

Jai Courvoisier Self Toast to you!
"you know when you get in this you are going to suffer a little bit". Love that. Sweet ride Bart.
Had a little money on the side
*has a lift in his garage
Also a Ferrari and a classic Benz. Well, good for him.
pretty sure that's the Petrolicious headquarters... but obviously he's some rich euro guy complaining about the "non comforts" of driving a Porsche, so cringeworthy..
That's Duke of London, Classics dealer/storer/club in Brentford.
Nope it's in Belgium 🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪
@@KimiRai-lf3gn Do they drive on the left side of the road in Belgium?
Thank you Petrolicious for returning to the regularly scheduled broadcast. Tasteful and beautifully done as always (except for the last Hyundai commercial/video)
You don't own the channel. You can't dictate terms
The details on that car are fantastic.
Beautiful car, I’m lucky enough to own a a modern 911T but a classic car like this is a dream of mine. The rawness of driving a classic car is something a yearn almost on a daily basis !
Love Bart Kuykens work!
What a garage !
Excellent video, great story, fantastic car. Thank you.
I saw that you have a Citroen S/M.....nice !!!
Those of us who have been in the vintage, AC Porsche world for a while are keenly aware of Bart. He is well known throughout the Porsche world and its great to see Bart on Petrolicious! I highly recommend looking him up, he's a true renaissance man!
What is his his instagram handle? Thank you

Very nice Porsche, clean simple and the engine sounds great! Nice to see a couple of mini's there! 😊
What a lovely little car,it looks tremendous fun!✌👍
GT Silver is an excellent color for this shape. This particular hue has a warm glow to it. On this car, it is art.
Amazing garage dude 👍
that is a beautiful Porsche and great video thanks
Beautiful car Bart.. enjoy it.
Amazing. Very very cool Porsche 👍
The car that convinced the owner to become a photographer! Just go for it!
I have been following this guy’s work on Instagram for a few years now, he’s a cool chap.
Dope Video..very inspirational..👍🏁
great vid and sweet car!!
Wonderful!
Had to look at this guy for half the video. How cool!........
I've owned my 69E hot rod RS clone for 33 years & counting...
Heh, saw the car and the owner and right away knew I was following him on the Instagrams, love his photographs. It's amazing how petrol heads are so alike!
I know that road with the yellow door. Lovely car. Great to see Duke of London on here.
Brand new and lots of views! I have owned a Porsche and love the Porsche videos, but the human side of things such as represented in this video is always of interest to me.
Beauty!!
Sick ride
No cabe duda que el Porsche 911 clásico es el automóvil favorito de Petrolicious
There is no doubt that the classic Porsche 911 is Petrolicious's favorite car.

Very cool 👍🏽
Délicieux moment ❤❤❤
Nice film Bart...
Thank you so much Sir for the trying this beautiful Porche 911 ! A next time you can try your "super nice"SM Citroën/Maserati.
So basically after all the modifications (engine in particular) it’s more of a restomod than an original 911T.
Aaaaannnd now i want one
great clip! thank you! so maybe i missed it but where was this taken?
Love the Panerai styled clock. Heel gaaf detail!! :-)
Not only a Panerai face -- it seems to have additional "digital" functions when powered up that appear on the face as well -- I would like to know a little more about this one . . .
Looks like a sticker or something. I don't think it's real. 1:14 and 3:28.
@@uptheorg I researched it a bit some months ago. There used to be a guy selling Pam decals to fit the clock. Must have had some made up. I couldn’t find any though. Old eBay ad. Guess he sold them all.
There was also at least one vid on YT showing how to do it. Removing the clock hands and such.
Simplemente, espectacular!!!
Sublime
Amazing car!
Where did he got those wheels?
godspeed
I❤the Videos😊
Question about the last shot of the 1970 911T accelerating: Is this in France? (it looks like an old race track on a video game called Landstrasse [Need for Speed High Stakes game for Playstation]). Great video, I love the car, the guys story of becoming a professional, and the music, too!
I owned a 1973 911T between 2000 - 06. Loved it’s air cooled rawness roughness, and was still quick by early millennium standards.
yellow1one I miss my 1971 911T Targa everyday
Kage578 - I totally understand the emotion.
go push a lawnmower around if you want the rawness of an air-cooled carbureted motor. the intoxicating smell of gasoline. the pulsing vibration of the piston in your hands. the ringing ears from the thrums of combustion, feet from your head. live dangerously by wearing flip flops, and maybe run over your own foot, just to feel fully alive
Jean Shepherd - Sure! Perhaps, after you’ve given me a demo beforehand!
@@yellow1one emotion is what marketing triggers to induce irrational consumption. you are all suckers
Cool video. I also like the lifestyle and meeting interesting, successful people. Not that I'm either one of those!
"You know you're going to suffer a little bit?" When driving a vintage 911? Funny perspective.
When it comes to the question of cars, the correct answer is ALWAYS 911, then everything else. Yes everything.
But I thought that Miata Is Always The Awnswer
@@boppe2235 Miata is the car for the people. Porsche is german word for small penis
Miata, Miata is the answer. Always the answer.
Jean Shepherd Oh dear Jean 🙄
@@jeanshepherd7185 It seems you're afflicted with car & penis envy both. LOL
Bella.
Anyone know the music that was played in this video? Thanks!
Does anyone know what type of left side mirror is mounted on this car??
Did anyone notice the drivers side lights out below the headlight?
Yes, my OCD was going nuts watching this!
Yes. But he had no money on the side to replace the bulb.
Sting Ray your comment made me laugh. Good form. Good form.
@@joedaley3692 The openg rubber clips i never liked on anything ! Makes no sense for a street car . The clips are only found for cars that are used on the race tracks only .
Was this filmed in the UK? 🇬🇧
Where is his garage ? Looks very cool. Greets from Belgium
Love a classic Porsche, follow Bart on Instagram great photographer like his style.
Me too
bella
Nice film and still photos. I presume this was filmed in the UK? Do you know where - the village is very pretty.
The owner is Belgian... so i'm guessing in the Ardennen region.
@@lvi7910 Belgians drive one the proper side of the streets. Obviously this video was shot somewhere else...
@@mojoblues66 The Romans figured out that we are generally right-eye dominant so the driver of the chariot had to be on the right side of the chariot with the chariot on the left-hand side of the road so the driver could see as far as possible down the (straight!) road. Napoleon wanted to be awkward and chose to drive on the right-hand side!
I'd love to know where the steering wheel was sourced/refurbished (appears to be a Singer Style - take of the original wheel) -- I have a Momo Prototipo Heritage in all black, but really dig this and the momo is a small diameter...would like to add another.
❤️
What a great car. But is it just me who it really bugs how the front left indicator and left taillight don't light up?
Spoiler alert: stuff breaks on 50 yr old cars.
@@truantray I have a 33 (BMW E30) and a 51 yr old (Mercedes W115) car, I know stuff breaks on them but whenever there's any problem with them I try to fix them as soon as possible and definitely will not take a photoshoot of them in that state. My daily is also 22 ('97 BMW E36 328i). And then there's a '91 Ford Scorpio sedan (known as the Granada Scorpio in the UK and the Mercury Scorpio in the US) that we're currently working on. I know how things break trust me, I'm in love with old cars but I'm always very bugged when an otherwise perfect thing has that one small, yet apparent flaw on it.
Nice video, as usual but when presenting your car in a video of such high quality, I would have made sure that the lights work. Seems like a short somewhere in the wiring, or a blown bulb.
Does he have an Instagram? I have to see more pictures of his car, it is just amazing
sure buddy: @bartkuykens
Whats the music?
What kind of tires are those - rim size? maybe 16?
I live not that far from Antwerp, can I PLEASE come to your place and fix your lights? It really put me off while watching the vid... :D
👌RGRUPPE badge on engine grill...👊
Whats the yellow/blue race car in the background of his garage?
Ferrari F355 Challenge
Beautiful Porsche. Odd music choice lol.
Hey look, it’s another guy telling us why his Porsche is so wonderful.
Braggenrites
For me Porsche “There is no substitute “. I love Petrolicious but really this story is not unique as usual.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Porsche, and LOVE this channel. Just would like to see a little more variety.
I had a little money on the side so I put £20 of petrol instead of £10...stunning car though, the older ones seem to have a soul👍🇬🇧
This car looks like it has some Magnus Walker touches to it, nice car anyway.
'smells like oil' very true, Porsche should bring out an aftershave smelling like the interior
0:43 what cars are those? white and orange.
“Had a little money in the side” but has a lift/elevator in garage. Nice car though.
The air filter is in danger of heat soak - better to fit standard as hot air is less dense
That car has Magnus Walker tail light treatment.
He has to find out why?
As always this is what Petrolisciuos does making Sports Car Driving a personal Art form again.
Just like my restomodded Z
It just so drive not racing it not the biggest engine or not a swap. Just 5 Speed, disc brake conversions, headers exhaust and more just built for the Art of Personal Driving
That is not the "Magnus Walker" treatment. Those tail lights were first used on the 1967 911 R. More the "Ferdinand Piëch" (Ferry Porsche's nephew) treatment. Stolen from an NSU in an effort to lighten the 911 R as much as possible.
What color is this car please?
I had a 1970 911S Targa.
Other times...
To own a classic Porsche: The perfect balance between have a piece of history and a timeless sports car at the same time. Even Greta Thunberg approves this video.
In my channel, one of my favourite videos, is a Porsche too :)
Roadmantics
1) It’s obvious that you’re only here commenting to try and grab views on your own channel, which sucks and is obnoxious.
2) What the hell does Greta Thunberg have anything whatsoever to do with this?
I got interest on that white SM....
There is some attachment with 911 model which no other model has....
OMGoodness he shoots film, or has a digital still camera with a transport lever
Yep. If you're gonna have a custom 1970 Porsche then you gotta have a Leica M to take photos of it. There's one comes standard in every porsche glove-box.
It is a film Leica!
I myself would fix the turn signal light or I would loose my little money on the side. Which I don't have anyways.
I was eating when I put this on and thought he said his 911 was his Pikachu. I was like euhh?
Since there's a citroen over there why not you guys review another episode about citroen. Cmon!
Music is way too loud. Can’t understand the speaker.
I had a 1971 911T for years. Damn I regret selling that car back in 2001.
No one wanted these cars in the 80s, 90s, even early 2000s. Now they are stupid speculated.
okleydokley yep. Mine was yellow, black Fuchs, nicely tuned motor, quad tip Monza exhaust, classic Momo steering wheel, and sport seats. No Spoiler/duck tail/whale tail. I traded it in on Mercedes..dumb. Now their bringing $100k plus
Left front marker light is out.
