Greece, Spain, Belgium, France Czechia all have National ID programmes and their police are no worse than the UK?! Why is it so scary?

@@jackoh991i’m not sure exactly how it works so do check this and don’t just take my word for it but i think i remember seeing that you can actually cancel your postal vote after it’s sent and go to your polling station in person instead and cast a vote there? it would only work if you are able to get to your polling station tomorrow though (or potentially get an emergency proxy but i think the reasons for getting them so last minute may be quite limited) obviously entirely up to you but just thought i’d mention it :)

The thing that annoys me about Rishi's "people should be rewarded for hard work" is he thinks people will be adequately rewarded by an extra £500 or so. Wages have stagnated in comparison to inflation, never-ending productivity, and he thinks people will be rewarded by an extra 0.05%.

The sheer nerve of a Conservative Prime minister who has never done a hard days work in his life, lecturing ANYONE about hard work is just taking the piss. I don't understand why people just tell him to fuck-off when he goes on about hard work. Your average tory minister works a 5 hour day tops. I don't understand why people don't challenge him on this. I do more hard work in one week than you do all year Sunak. Would like to see more people in the media critique this.
Ava you are spot on about Angela Raynor-its obvious Kid Starver wants her out of the party as she is just too left-wing and wedded to the idea of actually helping working -class people which doesn't square with Starmer's vision of the Labour party. The current Labour party seems to being run by Peter Mandleson, which is rarely a good idea.
The Labour party are taking my (and a lot of other people's) vote for granted. Starmer why should I vote for you when you are not offering me anything? I will not be voting Labour until they start representing me and offering me an alternative politics to what the Conservatives offer.
Labour need to start distancing themselves from the Conservative party. The true tragedy of the past 10 years in the Labour party, is that the Tories have now managed to move Labour so far to the right, that the differences between the two parties are essentially meaningless. As a traditional Labour voter Keir heed this well-I will not be voting for Labour until you are gone. Your infleunce is corrosive and sadly is helping to destroy the vessel you are contained in. This country needs a change, and progressive politics. The same old status Quo is just not good enough.
Finally Ava you were a bit harsh on Ollie I think, - he seems an affable dude, can't see why he pissed you off so much. Did he nick your lunch from the fridge? Chill out.

We can't use China and India as cheap labour to prop us up anymore, they are out-competing us for direct foreign investment themselves. Just look at our national debts these days in the West. Not sustainable living on borrowed money imho. I agree the wealthy have taken too much for themselves, but they aren't stupid, their money will vanish into the global system very quickly if we tried to tax wealth directly.

It's real and it bears his name: Pension Scheme for Keir Starmer QC (Regulation 2013) states Sir Keir is exempt from paying tax on pensions over £1m. How on earth can he oppose this for everyone else?
