I'm really sorry to hear. My yorkie also passed away around 7 mos ago..... My heart still aches. When I read that you got him from the pet shop instead of a breeder....... I was thinking.. oh no puppy mill. Hopefullly he's not from there. PUppy Mill dogs have lots of health issues. :( This is so sad

First of all the local pet store here only sells dogs for local small breeders, no puppy mills here. Second, last time I checked puppies liked to have fun and play. If you knew anything about dogs, you would know they are not human babies, you do not treat them as such. That is how you end up with bad behavior. Now go troll somewhere else Turd Ferguson.
Dog Bone I visited the breeder. They had about 8-12 dogs a year and only yorkies. They are retired now almost a decade later.. They sold to our local pet store who does not generally sell dogs but made an exception for these people. All the akc paperwork matched as well.
@yorkiedog1409 we actually have a good pet store that only buys from local breeders and not mills. and they are taken better care of han moat people do their own dogs. not all pet stores are the same. he us now nearly two and is perfectly housebroken and very well trained and mannered.
4 years ago I made a couple of videos about him. He’s still alive and well. I will try to make an update video this weekend or sometime next week. Subscribe and keep an eye out. He’s still super healthy.
My yorkie came with her tail docked she was 8 weeks when I got hershe is only 10 weeks now it feels like its been longer them that! Did your yorkie come with his tail docked ?

You can actually find the same breed you love at a good breeder for the same price. You have to weigh in the cost of vet care of some of those puppy mill puppies, they often have a lot of health problems, which you will be paying for!
It shouldn't be allowed at all - not just for cosmetic purposes at any rate. I think it's illegal here in Britain - didn't even realise it was the standard until I went on the internet and saw all the Yorkies with little stubby tails :(
The problem is supply and demand. The dogs endure terrible conditions, then sell their puppies to pet stores. If you don't buy from pet stores or puppy mills, they eventually go out of business. Do you see how buying from irresponsible pet stores and puppy mills continue the problem? It's hard, because you feel sorry for them.....but it really only makes the suffering worse for animals in the long run. You save ONE, but it enables the suffering of HUNDREDS.
i know why people say not to buy from pet stores. but what about the puppies that are there now? they will die in those cramped space and suffer a lot...

We lost our Yorkie in July 2020. We were going to take her in the next day but if she had to go on the couch like she did Id prefer ❤ 💔

I just got my little yorkie from a wonderful breeder in Texas instead of a puppy mill. It makes all the difference.

It is AKC standards for the tail to be cut unfortunately. They should leave it up to the breeder IMO

Funny thing is she likes rodents and will kiss them. Awe that sucks that your baby no longer plays fetch. Mine still loves it.
