    He was about 3/4 of a lb. when I got him and I don't think the foster mom was feeding him enough and just in 2 weeks he has gained weight and looks so much healthier.
    So far though in his 14 weeks of life he has just had the normal things like ear mites and needing dewormed. I love this little guy and he is so fun to come home to and spoil. Hopefully he lives to be a happy older dog.

    I have a puppy this size, he is a Yorkie/Affenpinscher mix. His mom was a rescue dog and they didn't know she was pregnant with 2 puppies when they got her. I paid for him, but I had never had a dog this tiny.

    I wanted a small puppy due to they are so easy to take care of. Hamsters don't snuggle with you and are not as cute and playful as a dog either. I didn't realize the health issues as much even though I read up on them before I got him. So far he is healthy except for an umbilical hernia which I knew he had when I got him that will need fixed when he is 6 mos. old.

    Yorkie can MOSTLY cost 1,300/1,400. There is no such a thing as teacup yorkie. So 6,800 is WAY too much for JUST a yorkie.

  • @PurrtyCat83
    @PurrtyCat83 Před 12 lety +7

    I was just about to say the same thing! There is no such thing as a teacup dog, that's a lie breeders, something the world needs none of, use to sell their puppies for more money.

    The owner can't spell (or price her puppies) and the dog seem to have something wrong in the way it moves and behaves. I think the statement about health "issues" is true as many who I know that have gotten the dogs have spent a bundle of vet bills.

  • @christysummerfield
    @christysummerfield Před 12 lety +5

    It breaks my heart to see dogs bred to be "cute" but susceptible to so many health issues. This is simply cruel. I find it impossible to believe this dog is registered with AKC as stated because "teacup Yorkie" isn't a recognized breed. I'd like to encourage anyone who wants a dog to adopt one from a shelter or rescue organization. There are rescue organizations for just about every breed imaginable.

    It's cute and the price is not high because you probs could not find a teacup yorkie cheaper than that!!! Unless you go on Kijiji, eBay, or Hobbly!

    @brett39747 Thanks for posting... I agree with you 100% everyone gets lucky once and a while, but why risk it? Hearts are broken, lots of wasted money trying save these little guys, and most importantly... the dog suffers. I've heard horror stories of them getting hurt as well... It's no life for a pet! These are great dogs in a standard toy size 5-7lbs is a small enough dog for anyone! You want tiny? get a hamster...

    Shit that is over priced. I paid $800 for my baby boy. He is a teacup yorkie and weights 10 pounds. He is the best, they are wonderful!

    You are truly gambling when purchasing a dog that was purposely bred from the runts of litters. My friend's mom bought two teacup chihuahuas a few years ago named Romeo and Juliet. Juliet immediately started having seizures and had to be put to sleep, Romeo is still healthy and alive as far as I know. You truly are taking a risk. I can't believe people pay to have unnaturally small and unhealthy dogs. Besides, if you want something that small, you don't need a dog, you need a hamster.

    Ok. I didn't read the top comments. I guess they are susceptible to health problems. Like I said the dog looked really fragile and weak. I know it's a pup but it shouldn't look that wobbly.

    I am sure you had this girl liver shunt tested. A 1 1/2# dog would be a Guinness Book World record. Not saying this girl has shunt but for that price she should be tested before sold and liver shunt should be ruled out. By the way Yorkie standard is anything up to 7#s. There is no teacup or standard Yorke, it is only Yorkie,

  • @Tjroe21
    @Tjroe21 Před 12 lety +4

    Your right there is no such thing as a 'teacup'. The size of the dog is determined by the size of the parents. Its not cruel or anything like that by breeding or adopting one of these adorable puppies as long as you know how to take care of it and know what to do and what not to do.

    as cute as they are I will never buy a teacup dog, my Dylan and Lilly r normal size and that is good enough for me, I will never support the selling of these poor little creatures, u r just supporting greed and a shallow fashion item if u buy one, but the sad fact is that most of these dogs r gonna have short lives and in and out of the vets with huge bills to pay off! DO NOT BUY THESE DOGS EVER!!!

  • @brett39747
    @brett39747 Před 12 lety +1

    They may be cute and adorably small but the sad truth is there is no such thing as a "teacup" yorkie. She is a product of breeding runts and she is susceptible to many health issues including underdeveloped, fragile bones, soft spots on the top of the head, cardiac problems etc. The normal weight for this breed is 4-7 pounds. These are facts and you will find various sources across the web. If you care at all about the well being these animals DO NOT support a breeder who sells "teacups."

  • @brett39747
    @brett39747 Před 12 lety +10

    You could spend every minute of everyday taking care of it. It's not going to change the fact that it has weak genetics. Maybe do some research so you can stop trying to justify ignoring the health risks you put upon a dog just for one desirable trait.

    Hello, I am looking for a yorkie of Pameranian with a full grown of 1.5 to 2 pounds. Do you have it to sell? how much is it? thanks

  • @DoggoWillink
    @DoggoWillink Před 12 lety +4

    @temporaryhaze No, breeder yorkies can cost over 3,000$ easy, for even a non-show intended yorkie. You're right though, there is no such thing as mini or teacup yorkies; that is a result of poor breeding and unhealthy practice. Never buy a yorkie who weighs 2 pounds full grown, that's very unhealthy and shouldn't be supported (if it's an adoption, then of course, save the dog).
