  • I recently purchased a Uberleben Stoker Stove and found myself actually needing to keep warm. I like an authentic video over all else, and felt it'd be the perfect opportunity to review this product at an extreme. In this case, the damp Pacific Northwest.
I never put myself in real danger, and always have extra supplies in case of an emergency. In this situation, I wanted to see is the Uberleben Stoker Stove was enough to keep me warm, and if I could source enough material to stoke a hot fire.
I found the process of gathering and stoking a fire enough to keep me warm. Handling stick so close to the fire also seemed to keep my hands warm. I had trouble keeping a steady fire, but that could be due to my methods.
At one point, the side of the stove was red hot. So, take that how you'd like.
I want to try again before making any final judgement. It was very damp and finding dry tinder was virtually impossible.
I also want to try cooking on this. I think it'd be great for backcountry cooking if you don't want to pack around fuel.
I used an Uberleben ferro rod & tinder wick to start the fire.
