  • A series of wildlife crossings on Colorado Highway 9 provide safe travel for motorists and wildlife alike. The innovative accident-mitigation project is the first of its kind in Colorado. In just 2 years, a variety of wildlife species are already using the structures and wildlife/vehicle collisions have been reduced by 90-percent.     It is so important for wildlife to have safe crossings. Here on Hwy 101 in San Luis Obispo County we have installed similar safe crossings and many black bear and deer lives have been saved. Wonderful work, thank you.

    These are great projects and let's not forget organizations such as the Mule Deer Foundation and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for their efforts toward wildlife conservation.
