America is sleeping on how amazing this band is. I kid you not. They're very popular in the UK and continental Europe. The lead singer is simply superb. Their acoustic performances will knock your socks off.

On the more futureproof esque vibes, unperson, can you afford to be an individual, I was just a kid, I’m not made by design, and miracle baby all fit that sort of vibe. On the real love song vibes, trip switch is a solid one along with Amsterdam. To see their ridiculous range, check out particles (the piano version), impossible at abbey road, or if I get high love session. Conor’s range is insane partially because he’s a classically trained vocalist

If you want to hear the softer side of NBT, Lover Please Stay (Live) and Impossible (Live) are INSANE
Saw them live this year and they were out of this world! Such an incredible energy, and great stage presence ❤️ I also think these songs don't do them justice but, honestly, there isn't one bad song in any of their albums. I highly recommend 'Impossible' if you're looking for a slower, more ballad-like song, it showcases the lead singer's voice beautifully.
Every musician in this band is exceptional. Conor Mason's vocals are untouchable.

Yes! I love these guys!! His voice is incredible and I’m happy to hear it holds up live. My favorite song of theirs is Sorry. There is the regular track on the album and also an acoustic one. Both are 🤌🏼🤌🏼

They have such a variety of different sounds within their albums...PLEASE do a discography dive (including the EP: What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way as that has some of their best songs)! I’m so happy that you reacted to them! I literally could recommend every song off of the extended version of their newest album(while not every song is something that I go and listen to regularly, the talent and passion for music that they have just oozes off of every song, and I think that you specifically would like the album sonically too), and some of their previous stuff(but ESPECIALLY the acoustic versions of “If I get High”(which, if I’m not mistaken, is about one of the member’s mom(you’ll understand why that’s so heartbreaking if you hear it lol), and “Lover Please Stay”. Connor has the voice of an ANGEL and it really shows itself in the stripped versions).
I would absolutely love to see your take on their other music 🥰
Their newest album is definitely what you should go for if you want more like Futureproof and Real Love Song, but I still HEAVILY recommend listening to that stripped versions of If I Get High and Lover Please Stay. His vocals are otherworldly

I was there! They are unbelievably good live, Conor’s voice is so good. Check out I’m not made by design from the same concert, his vocals on that one are always insane. If you’re interested in the history of the band they recently brought out a documentary called Road to the O2 which is worth a watch.

What makes Connor's (lead singer's) vocals even more impressive is that he is classically trained, singing rock/alt. music.
I remember discovering Nothing But Thieves a year ago around this time and I made sure that Real Love Song was the 1st song I listened to in 2022. It's amazing to listen back to these songs from someone discovering them for the first time! They are such an underrated band and I regret not seeing them this year when I had the chance. I hope you dig into more of their discography!

Nothing But Thieves and PVRIS are the evolution of many of the bands you mentioned. A lot of what came out in the 2010s were carbon copies of bands like Linkin Park, Deftones etc, but without soul and without progressing the genre forward. I can only hear your standard metal and rock riff progression so many times before it gets dull, and if you aren't as good as your predecessors then I have no reason to listen to you. Nothing But Thieves and PVRIS absolutely made this kind of music exciting for me again.
I'm glad you mention the lack of "boxing yourself into a genre" because what Linking Park did throughout their career from Hybrid to One More Light was change things up with each subsequent release. Nothing But Thieves takes that approach but does it on each individual album.
I think I heard somewhere that Conor was sick during this performance too, crazy!
