Thank you, very nicely explained. One of the strengths of the iPhone built-in timelapse app is that you can set it in virtual darkness and capture a sunrise with perfect exposure adjustments for the full duration of the clip. They are perfectly blended so there is no Steppy exposure jumps. You didn’t mention anything about, the ability of this particular app to do the same thing. Is it just guess work with this app to get the exposure correct for a dark to light situation such as a sunrise? It seems that this app is only useful in static lighting situations. Is that the case?

Does it have stabilization for hyperlapses? If so, how good is it?

Cool video, thanks for the review I will for sure check it out for backyard astro time-lapse.🙂
    Two questions
    1. Do you have a link to the iPhone holder you have on the tripod?
    2. Can the app do single shot with same controls as you show in the beginning, maybe Reeflex Pro Camera?

Great video - I am new to the iPhone 15 Pro Max for photography, and thus just starting to learn and loved this video so much, I bought the App. Thanks, now I'm going out to shoot a nearby stream...and will try some traffic too. I had been hugely disappointed by the native iPhone camera app for time lapse. I am also using the BlackMagic camera app.

Great video Mark, many thanks for sharing. I downloaded the app today and immediately got to work, with excellent results. A$10 a year for the subscription is extremely reasonable. One thing I noticed is that the app is very battery hungry, so something to keep in mind for the longer shoots. That is on my iPhone 12, so might be better on the later models. Once again thanks!!

I have this app and I really like it. The issue I found is not the app, is that I have the insta360 flow gimbal, which has the timelapse option that gives slow movement to the gimbal and allows you to have great timelapses with movement, but it only allows you to do it with the insta360 app… at the moment that you start the movement and change to the reelapse app, the movement from the gimbal gets cancelled. The only solution I found is starting the gimbal movement with another smartphone, but having the iphone attached to it instead, with the reelapse capturing. It’s not a great solution as you have to carry two smartphones, and both have to be capturing, but I didn’t find any other option. It would be great to have a better solution.

Many stabilizer manufacturers do not allow other applications to control their stabilizers. Therefore, most likely, until the major players give access to stabilizer control, we will not be able to see control in applications not from the stabilizer manufacturer.

Unfortunately for me, the phone gets very hot from the program, which is why the phone turns off. Or he doesn't even go through two out of five recordings or quits. My phone is iphone 15 pro. What could be the reason for this. If you have an idea, please write it. with thanks

    • @wildpatagoniafilms16

I think they are basically the same... but this one has more features. Before this APP Moment was 9Ii think) the only one offering the "blur" effect to make the TL better looking. But reelLapse took it a notch higher I believe. Also: Moment is cheaper ... 🙌 cheers!

*Yeah Mate, it still has that oversharpened small cell phone sensor look to the footage. I have a Samsung S22 which shoots in 8K 24p, and I would say it looks a great deal better than the iPhone 15 footage, but even so, it still has that small sensor cell phone camera look to the footage. The OSMO POcket 1 and definitely the OSMO Pocket 3 has that footage beat. The streaking highway time-lapse was the only footage which didn't look average to my eye.*
