My baby is currently in the NICU and is having very rapid breathing, often jumping from 60 to 125 respirations per minute. He was born 2 months early. He often tires himself out and will stop breathing for about 5 seconds and then, he will start up again. He goes a little pale sometimes but his O2 saturation is often in good range 95%-100%. His bottle feeds and latching also suffer because of his rapid breathing. We sometimes have to skip one or both. To clarify, he has an NG feeding tube that he receives his feedings through every 3 hours. I've even seen his eyes roll back while breathing rapidly, and my concern immediately shifted to worrying about seizures. I know that I'm not an expert, so far too often I get quiet and just accept what the nurses tell me. I am a first-time parent and I wonder, sometimes, if they count on my silence. He also will have sudden jitters. OMG, I'm trying not to cry while typing this. I feel like something is being overlooked. I spoke with my family and they will be coming with me to the NICU to support me in asking questions.

@jothivel2766 He is doing much better. He's home now! The new worry is his GERD as it causes him to spit up quite often and, in some instances, choke on spit up. This prevented him from coming home sooner due to the severity. All things considered, we are grateful for the journey, and it's so good to have him in our arms.
