7:51 You misspelled her name. You wrote ErSZébet, while it should be ErZSébet. And it's actually a bigger mistake than it looks, because "ZS" and "ZS" in hungarian are two completely different letters, with different pronunciation. Sz is like the S sound in english, and ZS is like the sound in pleaSure. Also, fun fact, Hungarians switch the first and surname, so the correct correct name would be Héderváry Erzsébet!
I was watching hetalia some time ago, my dad asked what I was watching I said that I’m watching an anime about personafied countries, my dad of course asked if Finland was there (bc we live there) I said he is and I said his name, dad said that the Väinämöinen part was funny but he said that it should be Timo not Tino, Timo is more used then Tino. Braginskaya came from Braginsky (Russia's last name) in Ukraine, you add "aya" or "ya" (depending on last name) to your surname, so this actually makes sense if they are related. What doesn't make sense to me is that if they are family, why isn't Belarus' last name Braginskaya? I just want to help out a little bit more with Finland’s name in case anyone is still skeptical. My Spanish teacher went to Finland as a foreign exchange student, and I asked her which of the three would be the most accurate, and she has a few Finnish friends who are named Timo. Just here is a little bit more information for you all.
As a finn, I can confirm that the name ’Tino’ is very rare over here, but Timo is a pretty common. For example, I googled it and found that from a population of around five million, there are only 2091 men named Tino, but 50312 men named Timo. So em, Timo is widly more popular.
Just a tip on the spanish pronunciations, rr is rolled and r is pronounced similarly to an r/l in most languages that aren’t english(so between and r, l and d) and the letter h isn’t pronounced so it’s not HAIRnandez, it’s AIRnandez. Just a lil tip, but keep up the great work, I love your videos 😊 (for reference I’m Mexican and Hernandez is a REALLY common last name in all hispanic cultures)
Lithuania Aph I have seriously tried so many times but people always say I'm wrong and out of all the Lithuania fan fictions I have read (over 100 at least) I have seen Tolys used once. ONCE. So frustrated...
Tbh, I switch between the two often, I like how Toris sounds, But I know that Tolys is right, I've talked and actual Lithuanian before, but we didn't go into that subject :l ......
Lithuania Aph I personally prefer the sound of Tolys since it just feels closer to his character being an actual Lithuanian name and such. But I totally understand why you prefer Toris and so many creators use it so I guess I'll just have to deal with it.
Every time I see Tolys I want to say it, but I'm nervous that I'm going to pronounce it wrong, And when I see people use Toris I can't force to tell them any different. Both are okay names , but looking back, Tolys sounds right......
I thought nyo England name was like Elizabeth because how England name is Arthur like King Arthur and hers was Elizabeth like Queen Elizabeth and plus the most stereotypical English female name is Elizabeth
The hungarian version of Elizabeth/Elisabet/Elizavet etc... is Erzsébet not Erszévet. "sz" and "zs" are to different diphtongs. "zs" is the voiced version of the sound "sh" and is pronounced like the beginning of the French name "jean". "sz" sounds like "s" in english (our "s" sounds like "sh") it's the unvoiced version of "z" pronounced like "s" in "see". So Erszébet does not exist only Erzsébet and Elizabeth/ Elisabet/ Elizavet etc are existing versions of this name just ot in hungarian.
M m m m m. Me, staring at all my privste fraswiss and edelweiss fanfics i have written with em using the name Vash cuz my swiss friend always used that in our roleplays: **intense sweating**
True, I definitely prefer to use country names when I can. But if I'm writing a human AU, I can't just call Lithuania by his country name. And you know damn well I'm not callin him Thorium Laurinaitis, so Tolys it is.
Since I feel embarrassed calling by their country names around outside of hetalia fandom, I been calling their human names instead. Reason I feel embarrassed of it bc I don't want people think I'm talking about countries not the characters from hetalia
For Switzerland’s surname, I’m pretty sure it would be Basch based off of the katakana because if I remember correctly, if it was vasch it would be written as ヴァッシュ
Alex Dane it's just a... Idk how to explain this, but in English you can say "cat" or "kitty" which is a cutier/smaller version of the word(?) and it also works with slavic names (Małgorzata - Małgosia, Beata - Beatka, Bartosz - Bartek...)
As a lithuanian I've never heard Toris nor Tolys... but Tolvydas would be a great name for him buut I kinda like the name Tauras (or a variation of it)for him bc it's kind of an old name
Great vid! There are a lot of misconceptions there are in the fandom, I don’t think people realise just how much thought Hima puts into the names. And just how much work you put into your vids! Thank you :) (Also I love the use of Lets enjoy today in the background :D)
Actually, in Nyo Romano’s name, the ‘i’ is “silent” (it’s hard to explain) but the correct way to say it would be like this: kya- ra (Yes like when an anime girl sqeels and says “KYA” 😂) How do i know this? Simple cuz my name’s Chiara as well ^^
12:25 Rosa? It suits more with Nyo!Italy instead of Alice, That's some historical character with that name? Nevermind, I will call Her Victoria ( Because of Queen Victoria and I think this name fits her)
I'm fairly sure it's a reference to the Tudor rose, the national flower of England. It also alludes to the term "English rose", used to refer to a beautiful and proper Englishwoman.

Also Katyusha is a nickname for people called Katja, Katherina or Yekaterina. And I can say that Iryna is definitely a Ukrainian/Russian name (A friend of my mother has this name and she's Russian) . And as a German girl on the other side I can say that Monika is a pretty German name...I even know/knew like five or four of them
Maybe you have mentioned before that Greece name was Hercules watermelon but I only ad some errors in Greece Hercules is now a rare name . And also we have more Byzantine Christian names as most common kostas Giorgios Dimitri ect also no one has a last name watermelon or karpouzi

I have a head canon that Lithuania has given up telling people what his real human name (other people probably share this head cannon)
Mom: Darling, why are you sad?
Me: Because katakana lied to me. And it took me 5 days to learn and not forget the name Køhler...
Hetalian struggles
Calling it now
from your favourite german hetalia fan
his name, Bash, is a petname
His name is Sebastian.
Mama Germany is calling it now
I thought nyo England name was like Elizabeth because how England name is Arthur like King Arthur and hers was Elizabeth like Queen Elizabeth and plus the most stereotypical English female name is Elizabeth
Devan Skrobarcek, could have also been Victoria.
Or Diana. Because of princess Diana?
My life is a lie... at 75%
Berntram is very unusual for a first name, usually it's spelled "Bertram" without the n
I have learned that my life was a lie.
De Baschi! Yes, Baschi (with an I) is a short version of Sebastian. I wonder how Himaruya found that.
M m m m m.
Me, staring at all my privste fraswiss and edelweiss fanfics i have written with em using the name Vash cuz my swiss friend always used that in our roleplays: **intense sweating**
*-S c h e i ß e-*
the thing that really annoys me (as a dane) is that densen isn’t even a surname… 💀
Or you can just call them by there country name....
I personally perfer Italy, Japan and England insted of Feliciano, Kiku and Arthur
I agree but in Human AUs it's not possible
True, I definitely prefer to use country names when I can. But if I'm writing a human AU, I can't just call Lithuania by his country name. And you know damn well I'm not callin him Thorium Laurinaitis, so Tolys it is.
Since I feel embarrassed calling by their country names around outside of hetalia fandom, I been calling their human names instead. Reason I feel embarrassed of it bc I don't want people think I'm talking about countries not the characters from hetalia
...so, Iggyko's name is Rose and not Alice.
...my whole life is a lie--
Alice is fem! Italy's.
fem! Romano's is Claire (Italian is Chaira), like a Resident Evil character.
I call Fem!England Victoria,Fem!France Vivienne and Fem!Sweden Astrid.
My whole life is a lie...
For Switzerland’s surname, I’m pretty sure it would be Basch based off of the katakana because if I remember correctly, if it was vasch it would be written as ヴァッシュ
In primary school, I knew a Ukrainian girl named Iryna. but up until grade five or six everyone said it like 'Irynka', I never found out why...
Alex Dane it's just a... Idk how to explain this, but in English you can say "cat" or "kitty" which is a cutier/smaller version of the word(?) and it also works with slavic names (Małgorzata - Małgosia, Beata - Beatka, Bartosz - Bartek...)
So Irynka is just a cutier way to say Iryna (people usually use that for children, not teens)
Thank you :)
(Also I love the use of Lets enjoy today in the background :D)
ROSE! Seriously is hima trying to give me Doctor Who feels.
Actually, in Nyo Romano’s name, the ‘i’ is “silent” (it’s hard to explain) but the correct way to say it would be like this: kya- ra
(Yes like when an anime girl sqeels and says “KYA” 😂)
How do i know this? Simple cuz my name’s Chiara as well ^^
i always call demark denden or just den
12:25 Rosa? It suits more with Nyo!Italy instead of Alice, That's some historical character with that name? Nevermind, I will call Her Victoria
( Because of Queen Victoria and I think this name fits her)
And name of Nyo!Sweden I like Astrid instead of Berlinda.
I'm fairly sure it's a reference to the Tudor rose, the national flower of England. It also alludes to the term "English rose", used to refer to a beautiful and proper Englishwoman.
@@TheMbmdcrew Oh I thank you I didn't know that 💘🌺🌹🌸

All my respect for you for succeeding in pronouncing Hungary's name, because let's be honest, this language we speak is not a piece of cake at all~ :D

Also Katyusha is a nickname for people called Katja, Katherina or Yekaterina. And I can say that Iryna is definitely a Ukrainian/Russian name (A friend of my mother has this name and she's Russian) . And as a German girl on the other side I can say that Monika is a pretty German name...I even know/knew like five or four of them
Caramel Densen
Maybe you have mentioned before that Greece name was Hercules watermelon but I only ad some errors in Greece Hercules is now a rare name . And also we have more Byzantine Christian names as most common kostas Giorgios Dimitri ect also no one has a last name watermelon or karpouzi
I guess countries might get some weird old names like thousands yrs ago or so and Greece was too lazy to change it XD
@@ginz971 very good thinking maybe thats why😆
master of meme And Hercules is a Roman name, the Grecian name was Heracles
*Heracles, actually--the name comes from the Greek goddess Hera. Hercules as a name is what happened when the Romans butchered Greek stories, lol
I always look forward to your videos, and I never get disappointed - especially this time! Thank you for clearing everything up!
*SIDE NOTE: THE BACKGROUND MUSIC JUST - ! DENMARK WHY - ?!*
I knew Nyo!England's real name before this. I feel special. XD The rest I didn't know! Thank you for doing this!

You spelled 'Erzsébet' wrong
You wrote 'Erszébet' 😂
In Hungary, there is an s which sounds like sh, a z which sounds like z, an sz which sounds like the english s, and a zs which sounds like...Idk french people use that sound maybe
zs sounds like the g in mirage and sabotage, and the second g in garage.
@@balintkristof8442 thats dzs tho👄
@@user-jo8yb4uf7e Sorry, barrage isn't. But garage, and sabotage are still pronunced as zs.

So... where did Denmark's fanon name come from? Did somebdoy just make it up for fanfiction or RPG related reasons? Anybody wanna take a shot at it?
On the Hetalia page of tvtropes.org (btw it's a really addicting site) somebody put the name Mathias Køhler on the title of Denmark's character profile. It was later changed to just say "Denmark" again, but the name stuck.
That's what I heard, anyway, but I still use Mathias Køhler just so I don't confuse anyone
Wow, that's actually pretty interesting! Thank you for telling me about that. (And I checked out that site and I'm already addicted)
I think you could probably make a change to Mathias Densen (or Dansen) withouth confusing too many people.
When you forget to actually watch the video because you're too busy singing and head banging to the background music.
