As a former paeds nurse I can confirm that doctors are as worried as non doctors about their kids. If not worse. All those years of training count for nothing when it’s your own child😂
Reminds me of Scrubs with Dr. Cox. The moment his daughter is sick, he cannot function as a doctor because it’s someone he cares about. He knows all of the potentials but cannot see past it’s his child.
I understand the “butter” aspect, but what’s up with the popcorn aspect? Just that it’s warm and wafting into the air relentlessly, like stinking was going out of style?
Specifically MICROWAVED buttered popcorn smells like diarrhea! Everyone who's worked in an office should know this. That's why they banned us from using the microwave it near our desks. Using it in the kitchen on a different floor is ok though.
I never knew poop could be described so many ways till I started working NICU. Now I can identify the baby's milk/formula by the appearance of their stool lol.
Heeee! Love it! Hope the patient and her mama are doing well. And that you, as the doctor who is not in any way related to this child at all, are getting enough sleep. 😂❤
Nothing. Literally nothing happens if mamma has beans on her diet. Multiple scientific studies conclude there is NO correlation between mother's diet and breast milk composition
That's how I describe breastmilk poop! Buttered popcorn, and occasionally like fresh baked bread rolls. Then they start eating food, and they start having real poops and you miss the smell of buttered popcorn.
Yup... I'm an RN who work with adults and children... but when it comes to my own kid... I'm just another clueless parent 😅. Sometimes you are unsure about what you know when you become the parent
We only got pediatric general surgery, ped cardiology, ped urology and ped heart surgery. Every other child has to be seen by a non-ped physician, what makes for really funny consults.
This is how we're told that Doc Schmidt has a daughter 😂
..... we have known that already
We've known that for quite some time.
Boy do you have some great pediatric videos to catch up on, have fun!
He’s had a baby for awhile.

Medical training just gives you whole new categories of things to worry about.
@@garrettkajmowicz Exactly!
Fret not - the buttered popcorn days will vanish all too quickly.
I gather hearty CONGRATULATIONS are in order. So..... *CONGRATULATIONS!*
We've known he has a daughter for a very long time now.
@@1901180108 But is this a second daughter, or just reminiscing?
Good luck with the "patient" Doc! 😂
People always look at me weird when I say breastfed baby poop smells like buttered popcorn😂🍿

@@ahgflyguy , no it doesn’t smell like plain butter, it smells specifically like buttered popcorn! lol
Quick question
Where do you get your buttered popcorn from 😂😂😂
Specifically MICROWAVED buttered popcorn smells like diarrhea!

Occasionally cream of wheat in my house

If this is a true based on life story, congrats and good luck :)
Congrats to you and Mrs Doc! Hope you can both get some sleep!
If it smelled like buttered popcorn, your baby is secretly a binturong.
I understood this reference!
The heuristic "X is probably a binturong" is quite useful. In my experience it's never been too wrong.
So, did you just welcome a second baby girl into the Schmidt family? If so congratulations!
OMG THAT'S what the poop smells like! I couldn't quite describe it. (The little poop machine is hanging off my boob as I type this 😂)
Aww, congrats Doc 😊
Literally buttered popcorn. 😂
Smells like buttered popcorn, looks like Dijon mustard. I remember those days.
and tastes like? 😂
I never could figure that smell out! Nice to have a name for it now
Parents are amazing
All that hard work with no sleep at all
I mean it makes sense. If I only ate a pure dairy diet like a baby, I’d be pooping like that too
🤣 Why did I never think of it that way??
Congratulations on the baby❤
Congratulations 😂
Okay now we need a cameo from your baby.
Did your wife have another baby?
Dr Schmidt?
Also there may be no fiber breast milk but if nursing mom eats beans
Nothing. Literally nothing happens if mamma has beans on her diet. Multiple scientific studies conclude there is NO correlation between mother's diet and breast milk composition
😂😂😂 5-6 diapers and they call it "a lot"😂😂😂 This is awesome
Congratulations Dr. Schmidt! We remember the birth of your first daughter, the banana :). Enjoy watching them develop a relationship!

My babies’ poop smelled like buttered popcorn too! 🎉 It’s from lots of good high fat milk!
I read it as 'pedantic GI'. Regardless, congratulations!
❤
Looks like curry smells like feet...ive never experienced this buttered popcorn you guys speak of in 4 newborn phases...
Second comment :P
If this is based on your life, good luck :)
First one here🎉🎉!!
Welcome!
Hmmmm. I believe modern medicine has figured out what causes this problem.
I guess congratulations are in order??!! 🍼🎉🩷
