The Two Knights led to Crota's demise, which instigated the Taken War, which led to both the invasion of the Last City and the Taking of Riven, the latter of which ultimately led to the deaths Cayde-6, Uldren Sov, and Savathûn. The story threads run DEEP
I often forget that Ghaul and the Red Legion only came to the Sol System in the first place specifically because of the distress signal the Skyburners sent from the Dreadnought.

@@bspoon2529 The signal wasn't from the Bond Brothers though, that was just the Cabal trying to detonate the Dreadnaught's Core. The signal was sent from the final mission at the end of all the Taken War storylines from the Bridge of the Cabal Ship (forgot the name) aboard the Dreadnaught.

I think people underestimate Xivu she’s not just some hulking monster she’s also a master tactical mind who’s other title literally is “who’s victory’s idempotent”
technically speaking, shes the strongest in the universe behind The Witness since Rhulk is presumably dead, and i hope we see her soon, like next season maybe.

@@eliaspanayi3465 I think Tactical warfare falls under Athena's realm of things. Not to say Ares isn't battle smart, I just feel like he exemplifies the individual fighter more than a commander, hence the brutish depiction in myth. Just like Athena would still be very lethal in battle but we associate her more with blanket intelligence than warfare. Other war gods typically do get both though. Unless you want to talk about the Aesir of Norse myth where all of the characters we get to know are the war gods
I dread to imagine how much stronger Xivu has gotten due to claiming the tribute of Oryx's brood and the parts of Sav's brood that left when the light was introduced. Not to mention he having the taken.
I’d imagine she’ll be beyond the other 2 combined at this point. And if she’s subservient to the Witness, it raises some pretty concerning questions. Xivu Arath is literally the God of War to the Hive. How powerful does something have to be for a god to obey them?
This! This right here was such great lore! It reminds me of thr oldest game from The Sandman. War is also a game of attrition, in its purest form it is Reduction that even atoms are bound to.

Xivu has been waging endless was for millions of years which probably means she has witnessed every strategy and turned war in to a fine tool that she has complete understanding of.
She may not be as powerful as Oryx or as cunning as Savathun but you can bet that she is more brutal and strikes with surgical precision and knows where to hit for maximum damage.
She’s not just the God of War, she’s the DaVinci of War as well.
I'm pretty sure it's been billions of years since she's been waging war, arguably more terrifying.

This reminds me of my theory that the guardians were never meant for humanity, and that it was originally meant for the Krill. And that the Traveler gave it to us because it had the concept just lying around and needed a Hail Mary. Savathun being a Warlock, Orix being a Hunter, and Xivu Arath being a Titan.
I kind of hope this is the truth and we almost completely lose in the story and have to call upon our sworn enemies for help to get through this and can’t do it without them, just because the power of friendship against a greater common enemy is always one of the best stories to be told, ever, and it is the way of the pack and the wolf similar to one of the first Destiny trailers ever released from Bungie and would just be satisfying

@@edragyz8596 you has to look at it from the spiritual aspect of each class Hunters are explorers. While Warlocks a keepers and seekers of secrets.
@@El_Chico_des_Galos I guess she does use Warlock supers, but I still reject that conclusion. She is a Hunter, the weakest of the 3, and the biggest troublemaker. Oryx on the other hand is the most powerful, holds forbidden knowledge, and is very faithful to the Darkness. Savathun is Cayde's opposite and Oryx is Ikora's.
I like to think of Xivu Arath as the foil to Savathûn, on opposite ends of a spectrum. Their brother Oryx was in the middle of them and that spectrum.
Hence perhaps why it was who became the ultimate leader of the Hive.
One end is Xivu Arath who represents straightforward and bold action, where on the other is Savathûn who represents subtle and indirect action (perhaps it is her complexity that put her in line with the light.) Oryx, once again was in the middle, representing a mix of the two.
**Addendum:** Xivu Arath may have ultimately been the most worthy of The Witness. Because she is perhaps the most in-line with the Sword Logic.
Sure, The Witness may looked to Savathûn cunning as an asset for potential Discipleship…but honestly Savathûn’s own ideals and actions are closer to that of the bomb logic. She is complicated, and plays games within games. Perhaps one of the reasons she was reborn as a Lightbearer. The Witch-Queen is multifaceted.
Xivu Arath on the other hand is single-minded and dedicated to war. To destroy all that cannot defend it’s own existence. With Oryx dead, and Savathûn turned traitor, The Witness may already be looking at her more favorably.
Great video and amazing how they are tying almost a decade of lore together. That fight with Oryx always looks so epic. That shot at the end of him falling into Saturn's orbit; just astounding.

I was expecting her to be the main star of Lightfall, not Calus. So how is she going to fit into all this? The Final Shape?
I don’t expect her to be in the new raid, it would be a dumb idea to kill off the last of the hive gods without giving her a few seasons to develop her character
Speaking of the new raid, who would we even fight? Maybe a rematch with Calus? A worm god? Maybe another disciple?
Ngl Calus being the main villain has me worried, he’s a good character but a good main villain? Very questionable, Xivu has more power and armies and a much more threatening character, to me Calus would’ve been a good side villain with Xivu commanding him, but bungie can surely pull him off hopefully.
She’s trying to tell us we can be teammates light vs dark I think she is done being played by the witness and the darkness and I think she genuinely wants her species to survive without the worms
I bet she'll be a major villain after the Light & Dark Saga is over.
I would expect her (and probably the Vex as well) to be the main enemy factions in the Final Shape, especially considering the whole tie between the Sword Logic being all about honing something down until all that can remain remains
Watching this reminds me of Toland's story (Ghost Fragment: Darkness 3) of three Queens ruling three kingdoms, one of who wrote a book of laws, one who built a high tower and one who raised an army and conquered everything. As he said, the next round would be three queens, but they all have armies and the one who wins is the one who discovers the weapon which grants them an advantage. Oryx was the queen who wrote the book of laws, whose weapon is to become a fundamental truth, ensuring they cannot be defeated, because any who defeats them becomes them. Savathun, built a high tower to reach for the stars, her weapon is secrets unknown to her sisters and perhaps even the witness, because one cannot defend against what they do not know. Xivu Arath raised the army and conquered everything, but she has yet to show her hand, which, I believe to be conquest, or rather how the Hive would define it. Three tributes delivered to one queen, one has died in the pursuit of becoming truth itself, another fled in pursuit of a secret weapon, only to be slain by it, the last Queen has conquered everything the Hive once were, she inherits by right of survival.
Do ya'll think Xivu will get her own Standalone DLC? I personally think she'll be a part of The Final Shape or show up in a future season

Well calus is set up for lightfall so I imagine xivu and the witness are in final shape unless the witness goes beyond the final shape.
She could be in the new raid with lightfall, though I wish this is not the case. She barely had any story tied to her

Does she just go into space like Xivu? No, she goes into the black hole that had been touched by the Traveller. Maybe she learnt more truths within

Im glad this video was made, the season where savathun was trapped in her crystal, it was because xivu arath backed her into a corner i suppose, however i was wondering why we havent seen any claw of xivu arath since we let savathun escape the crystal, its like the game just went and dropped her when she is so clearly a threat now that she is the last of the 3 alive...hopefully when we do see her itll be quite the story

I'm still mad that the so call Savathun song didn't has not yet played a roll in the in game story but these these is very cool and makes more sense than I first thought of it when I read the tittle.
I feel like that excerpt from the Books of Sorrow aptly describes the differences between the three siblings. Oryx led from the back, using proxies and strategically placing his forces, Savathûn led from within, using her impersonation and observation to know the enemy, to understand them and learn their weaknesses, Xivu Arath led from the front, using pure force and operontological warfare to psychologically cripple her enemies with the little weight their cosmic existence held. In terms of the nature, desires, and Sword Logic of the Witness and the Darkness, Xivu Arath follows it the closest among the Hive Gods. Oryx and Savathûn still carried it out, but neither of them truly followed it by definition, bending the rules where it benefitted them the most. Xivu's devotion and adherence is likely what will make her the strongest among the siblings, truly worthy of being given the Witness's blessings through helping to forge the Final Shape.

I love how Bungie has basically turned the Hive into the Hunters from Halo. Strong, proud and in truth Warrior Poets who recite their stanzas as they burn their enemies. But few know this, because all they see is the horror of their world being reduced to atoms around them.
I think one of the best ways to compare the sibling rivalry is the difference between a boxing match and a street brawl. Boxers do a ton of fighting, and they may make some comments about their competition, but at the end of the day there's a respect for one another. They don't go into the ring trying to kill one another or trying desperately to survive, but they still will give 100% of their energy into winning the fight. A street brawl is not about respect, it's about surviving and dominance. You don't hold back, you don't have mutual respect for your enemy, you are just struggling to survive.
The existence of the hive and the hive gods is all about sharpening the sword. The hive gods, for a long time, sharpened their swords against each other in a competitive fighting sense, just like a boxer getting better through boxing matches. Now they have recognized that strength is not enough, and so they sharpen their swords while fighting all out against one another and, eventually, against the Guardians and the Traveler

An interesting idea. Basically interrupting a small fuel supply chain to weaken one enemy and bait the other into an attack. Followed by a retaliation and total defeat that gives any observer an excellent chance to study the newer threat.

I am intrigued to see how anything hive related will now affect the game as we have killed quite a few hive gods and seeing xivu is the last of the big 3. Maybe if we end up having to go against her we may have to go against the worm gods themselves like we did with xol back in warming dlc
Xivu is the Hive God of War. She is a General. And a good general is not only powerful, but also strategic. While Xivu is very capable of brute forcing her way to victory, we cannot underestimate her tactical abilities.

First of all, dang I'm early. Second, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on why the Lucent Brood want the pieces of Nezarec! Assuming it isn't a directive from Savathun's plans before she died, why is Immaru interested in the pieces of Nezarec? Surely he knows that to claim a relic of Darkness would be to jeopardize the fact that the Lucent Brood are beginning to be able to survive without the Darkness' demand for blood tribute. Maybe he's just desperate, but I'm interested in finding out why.
I think Savathun always planned to return Nezarec. I think they both betrayed the Witness, and she sees in him an ally.
Maybe Oryx just needs a hug 🤗
I really hope that Xivu and the witness are the big bads of the final shape we will probably fight Xivu and some of the witnesses forces in the campaign and then the witness himself in the raid

Welp, with no other Hive gods for the swarm to turn to, looks like we may soon see the fully unified force of the remaining Hive in the near future (save for the Lucent Brood of course)

Imagine Xivu knows about the lie to the krill and when the witness confronts her shed say he'll nah and war path us and the witness and actually be stronger than what disciple calus is bringing in all forms of war. I think Xivu is gonna be way smarter and cunning then people give her credit for.

You have to admire how Xivu used her sister's weapon of cunning to destroy her brother without showing her hand
so how i see that lore card is as the start of a domino effect, knights death leads to a weakend crota, we kill crota(and the crystal), wich weakens oryx, we kill oryx. we took the momentum that xivu created and finished what she in a way started.

Gotta love the Hive. To us they may sound like they are growling and drooling psycopaths but they are actually quite eloquent. Definitely don't get those vibes every time I run into one of their Knights.
As far as I know, the Thralls are basically the Hive equivalent of children, but can only mature into Acolytes if they satisfy the Sword Logic with a high enough kill count. For all we know, each Knight and Wizard we encounter could each be hundreds, maybe even thousands, of years old!

I was think recently about how Savathun HAS to come back eventually, and what might cause it. I think it will be Xivu Arath. When the Hive God of War comes knocking, potentially as a Disciple herself, we’re probably going to need some help. The enemy of my enemy, after all.

why is Hive lore always the coolest?
What I find interesting was the training amidst Oryx and his siblings was almost like the Crucible on a much more massive scale. That is until it no longer was about sharpening their blades. It feels once they split that's when they turned these sharpened blades on each other. In a way I feel it points out a fallacy in the sword logic. If you only fight for yourself your allies will inevitably betray you and you are not truly immortal if those former allies will do anything in their power to best you and kill you. Even if they wait eons to do it.
“Those who live by the sword die by the sword”. The Rulk killed many for the Sword Logic and the Witness, and he’d died the same way he killed others: violently and relentlessly. The Sword Logic, as Savathun saw it, was flawed. What point to life is there if the strongest being is the only one left? Who else is left to sharpen the Final Shape if you must be the last life to go? She found the faith and point of the ideology to be pointless. Oryx lived by the Sword Logic, it became double edged, with many more blades of enemies stronger than him, vengeful. Though he didn’t care the Guardians would kill him for good, he was happy to contribute to the Final Shape. But the Sword Logic that he acted by was self destructive, if the Taken King hadn’t acted by the Sword, he’d probably would’ve have died to the Guardians. Savathun lives by the Bomb Logic, which isn’t quite self destructive, but at this point we don’t know where her loyalties lie. Right now, she is a wild card. We don’t know Savathun’s endgame.

Alright, I'm with Xivu becoming the strongest Hive due to the events (general warfare) following the death of Oryx and defection of Savathun... But I don't like the idea of retconning her to be some supreme mastermind the likes of savathun or Oryx. Her strength is in her simplicity, as her knight mentioned. She lives and breathes her tithe, constantly growing in strength until she becomes like a dark tidal wave of nature.
Remember the lore where Oryx questioned the sword logic by considering striking peace with the Ammonites, and Savathun literally killed him for it. At the time, Xivu was perfectly content in her single-minded pursuit of war. Only later did Savathun realize the error of her ways, and not Xivu hunts her too.

Xivu Arath is going to be mighty pissed at us for what we've done the death of her brother and his childern as well as the betrayal of her sister. She's scares me not because of the things she's done but more of the things she has yet to do. I mean she literally landed smack dab in the middle of Torobatl and completely ransacked/destroyed the place that not even the Cabal with their own impressive military might could muster a comeback. Imagine if she lands in the middle of the Last City. I dread to think what she would do to it and the Tower. What's that old saying "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." I think Xivu is going to prove to us in the near future why that's true.
