James Bond's Goldfinger car chase, Connery film locations- Black Park, Burnham Beeches, Harefield

James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 starred in one of the most memorable car chases in the Blockbuster Bond film Goldfinger. The night car chase took place in Switzerland, or did it? The chase was mainly filmed in Buckinghamshire in England. My film goes in search of the film locations at Black Park and Burnham Beeches in Buckinghamshire and at Harefield Chalk Pits in Hillingdon and along the way shares some interesting insights into the making of the film.
Goldfinger was Sean Connery’s best film in the series and it established Bond as a worldwide phenomenon. The film features the Aston Martin DB5 car for the first time which has become synonymous with Bond and has appeared in several subsequent Bond movies. The Aston Martin appears prominently in the memorable night car chase when Bond uses several of Q's gadgets.
My film goes in search of the locations used in the film including the night car chase at Black Park, Tilly’s death scene, the oil slick which despatches some of Goldfinger’s henchmen filmed at Burnham Beeches and the car crash down a cliff which was filmed at Harefield Chalk Pits. We also get as close as we can to the locations used on the Pinewood studios lot as we walk through the Pinewood twitten and along the edge of the park, which runs beside Pinewood.

Black Park in Buckinghamshire is a country park, near Slough, which is adjacent to Pinewood Studios and has been a popular location with film and tv productions over the years! Black Park has been the location in several Bond films, the Hammer films of the 50s - 70s and has appeared in Star Wars, Harry Potter and Marvel franchises. It has over 500 acres of woodland, heathland, grassland and a large lake and can easily double for foreign countries or even planets in another galaxy!
The park has hard concrete accessible paths in some parts of the park, a very nice café, food stall and toilets. It also has Go Ape climbing for children. Large pay and display car park. Open 8am - 7pm. Very scenic lake and walks, great facilities, next to pinewood and outstanding movie history.

Burnham Beeches
An internationally important nature reserve which offers 540 acres of woodland, heath, wood pasture and wetland. Both of the locations are a short 5 minute walk from the excellent café and toilets. The park has accessible tarmac roads. The ample pay and display car park is open 8am until dusk. Easy to get to the locations, good amenities and recommend you combine with a walk in the beautiful woodland walks. Address: Burnham Beeches Lord Mayors Drive Slough Bucks, SL2 3LB
Harefield Chalk Pits, Hillingdon - The location is behind the car park of an industrial unit. The location is at the end of a private residential housing estate, coppermill lock estate, which doesn’t have any public parking. Industrial estate Harefield, Uxbridge UB9 6TH. Due to the location, access etc this is one for the die hard fans. Recommend visiting outside working hours.
