The save point right before the boss is one of the best places to farm large fragments from. Right around the corner from it are 2 Defenders. One charged swing with 2 great swords will take both out and they have high drop rates for the fragments. Stumbled on this while farming the armor set and had 12 large chunks after 10 quick runs around the corner. 😁

This may be true, but why would you want to farm them from mobs at this point I'm the game.
By the time you are here, especially if you have followed this walkthrough and handed in the last tablet, you know you can just buy them in unlimited amounts from the blacksmith right?
@@TheCBRNick costs a lot (3000 vigor) per large fragment, because if you followed the guide, you gave the rune tablet to sparky. so Gerlinde jacked up the price a lot.

At this point in the game 3000 vigor is about what, 2 and a half minutes farming?
So the time spent farming shards compared to time spent farming vigor, it just doesn't make sense to farm shards.
In the same time it takes to farm 5 shards, you could farm vigor and buy a stack of shards...
@@TheCBRNick I actually don't know where are the best farming spots for vigor haha. this is my first playthrough as well and I just beat judge Cleric.
For some reason I didn't get the Abbess spawn that drops the Tattered Banner. Curious as to why.. EDIT: Looked it up and my guess is since I did the boss in the bloody cathedral area first (the one with Iron Wayfarer carrying) before heading up there I guess she doesn't spawn? SECOND EDIT: Saw a comment that said same thing happened, they rested and went back to the area, and went into Umbral just before the gate, and when they got to the end of the walkway, she did spawn. This worked for me. Hope this helps anyone else who has the same issue.
I ran ahead and unlocked the shortcut but then watched this while skipping bits here and there and noticed she didn't spawn for me and so I instinctively went back and went into umbral but nothing I will try again.
When I tried the first time I went through the gate using the lamp to get past it the only when I got to the end of the walkway did I enter into umbral and it didn't work, after reading your comment I tried again without even resting to reset I just went out of umbral and walked the gate went back into umbral before walking through the gate and she spawned after I got to the end of walkway but she took about 5 seconds to spawn, thanks alot 👍👍👍

10:31 you lost an umbral stigma on the right! After finish the game twice this stigma was the only keeping me to get the "lingering moments" trophy/achievement
The first moment in the entire walkthrough I had collected something instead of missing it 😅
If you don’t get the Abbess to spawn that drops the tattered banner go rest at your seedling, come back and shift into Umbral before you go through the gate. Go all the way to the end like you’re going after the saintly quintessence and she should spawn. Keep the deep sparrow in mind. He doesn’t target lock before he dive bombs and he hits unreasonably hard.
What I hate about this game is that there is no way to tell wether you are about to ruin a quest forever or not.. I ended up not having anyone to beckon for the Cleric fight and for me as a grand sword strength user I admit phase two of the fight was a real pain..

Hey Me too lmfao I just ran in and fought to my hearts content, I was pissed when I beat the boss on the first try and realized that I fk up the quest lmfao But hey, at least I didnt have to pay her lmfao!! None the less im like fuuuuggggggdge oh well.

Dont be ashamed if your struggling on this boss. Or any others . The Devs recently made all the bosses more difficult. Judge Cleric took me 2 hours to beat. This has been by far the hardest boss in the game for me

They just brought back the double Pietas! I've got 2 of em now. Right before I fought Judge Cleric too. So you know I had to farm it up to +10 first lol slaughtered her and her evil twin 😂Thanks for all the guides bro. Helped out so much. Keep up the great work.

Judge cleric got a huge buff in ng+ and is super resistant to everything. Currently struggling with this now and debating quitting the game entirely
The devs were like lets take everything about DS2 but actually make it bad

I’m sure you find ur later but there’s a stigma soon as you enter through the very first door on the right. And a holy ward in boxes on the left for anyone that uses them.
I struggled with the early bosses but now after i got all the good spells and shit getting to bosses is the hardest part
That was my problem too. I fought early bosses 10, 20 even 30 times to beat them. Now I’ve killed the last 5 first try
The bosses don’t need a buff they’re all appropriately difficult. You’re plowing through them cuz you’re cheesing with a summon and spamming OP radiance spells
I blew through them with a strength build as well, your comment is invalid
The hardest part of the boss was to deal with her second phase in 15 fps since the game was falling apart because of all the red effects
That was just a painful experience. The game was dropping frames so bad that boss felt more difficult than it should have been

Iron wayfarer did not show up for my fight with the huntress, I did everything that you did……ALSO the tattered thing didn’t drop for me when I went through so I didn’t think I needed it, IF IT DOESNT DROP YOU HAVE TO REST AND GO KILL THE GUY AGAIN BEFORE YOU GO TO EMPYREAN
Same thing just happened for me too my man. Not sure why but I did all the steps as well. The is my 3rd play though and it’s worked the other 2 times. For me I’m thinking I didn’t exhaust his dialogue at the manse but I’m usually pretty anal about that in all games
Iron wayfarer didn’t show up for huntress fight for me and I’ve been following the walkthrough. Wonder if I missed something but I doubt it since I’d always went through all his talks
Hey man thanks for these walk throughs!! It made the experince so smooth for me. I hate being stuck in places for a long time in a loop hole glad I could play along and just experince the game for what it is. Im suprised this game gets so much hate, I freaking love this game!!
I got this build but i put 20 into strength and use the Bloody glory grand sword. It has the highest bleed in the game and S scaling in radiance. Does almost 500 holy and 250 in physical plus bleed. Hits like a truck and i still can cast with my 52 radiance. Try it you wont be disappointed. You can melee and cast like the best of both classes.
You kick ass , almost done with my first souls like, will definitely do your elden ring guides next gonna pick it up after i beat this game. Thank you.

Oh.... that explains why they buffed all the bosses in a patch.... because cowboy said their to easy while everyone was struggling already. (+ they scale everything to)
Anyway.... When trying to get the heal upgrade at 3:24 a better strategy is to NOT ENTER UMBRAL.... instead walk to the gate, she can't attack you from behind the gate, she loses agro after a while and will walk around aimlessly. This is a chance to use your lamp to walk back through the gate and land a few hits she will immediately start teleworking behind the gate where you can snipe her from the wall perfectly safe using your radiant bolt (not lucent beam, bolts stagger lock her. Beam doesn't have the range)
when she's dead, go ahead, pop umbral, deal with the Gargoyle, and collect your upgrade)
Edit: 11:53 the ledge on the left has the bountiful ring (Item drop rate +)
Also in that location There's a Sigma (ghosts) by the entrance where we came in on the left of the entrance (as your coming back to it)

I agree on the bosses. It actually makes me sad because even on my first playthrough with just a greatsword, they were just getting obliterated. Wasn’t very fun.
On CBs first play through he was getting obliterated. Then on his walkthrough prep he knew what to expect.
@@Havok135 I saw, but I’m talking about my own experience. My first time playing through this game, the bosses were still mostly a joke and it was quite boring.
@iMaPound420 I have up to ng+2 at this point. I know the developers said they had to tone the bosses down cause in testing people found them too difficult. Wish they hadn’t. At least monarch got a revamp in the lastest patch.
Warning: make sure you turn in the tattered banner IMMEDIATELY. If you proceed at all it may end the quest. Some people say it didnt but for me it did.
Jeeeeeze! I played this melee and it was so much harder. I wish I havs done a Radiance build - easy mode 🎉
It took me two tries to beat Judge Cleric with a Strength/Smite build, for anyone struggling just keep moving and dodging more around her use the umbrell eye that gives 8 sec immunity, and then just beat tf outta her from behind, and if you die use that 8 seconds to proc stupid damage and she went down, hope it helps
hmm, i have the same catalyst at +10 as you but I have max radiance of 99 and my lighting only hits for 240 per strike while yours does 220 damage per strike and you only have like 58 radiance.
so like 40 more radiance only adds a pathetic 20 extra damage per strike. scaling so weak
also, you missed a stigma for another 2 umbral scourges. it was directly to the right from the starting vestige after you open the doors to go into empyrean before you fight the 2 abbees
Well I missed something because iron wayfarer did show up for me. I won but with he help of the two pieta summon magic. I also somehow messed up the other mission with the tattered banner because he wasn't there when I got to the area where you find his armor. I'm pissed.
They definitely buffed the bosses lol. They are a bit harder but not as bad of a time I had with Sekiro bosses 😆
I didn't get any Thorned Chalice to drop after beating Judge Cleric? I did all of Thekk-Ihir's quest steps and he's gone from the Abbey, but his outift isn't where it should be and the Chalice just didn't drop and isn't showing up in the arena. Sweet. Devs should make sure the game is finished before putting it out, which includes constant massive bugs.
Followed the walkthrough perfectly for Iron Wayfarer and exhausted all of his dialogue but he is just not appearing for Huntress fight. Not sure what I could've possibly done wrong but it also seems others have had this same issue.
10:28 UMBRAL STIGMA WARNING: cowboy doesn't show it here. Just after you open the door there is an umbral stigma to the right. I highly suggest after resting in the vestige, go umbral and you will spot the stigma. My only trophy remaining for the platinum was the stigmas, and i just couldn't figure out where it was until this one.
I spotted that too, also as you go through the door to your immediate left is some loot FC missed….I think it was Holy salts

I wish i could fight the same way but I usually need help from NPC against bosses. With Judge Cleric I don't get the Beckon molts figure to get the help after dying the 1st time as shown at 27:42 in this video. I got those Beckons with previous bosses but not here. I am tired of loosing on the 2nd phase. :)

Bosses definitely need a buff. im using kinrangr Hunter dagggers and posion with light rolls, and bosses die in like a minute. The game is fun, but easy people just dont understand builds mine is agility and its beyond fun

Idk about anyone else but judge cleric was probably the hardest boss for me so far in my first play through took me like four nights after work, I will say I did upgrade my spell catalyst book thing to +9 and second phase I just spammed mana stones and used the Pietra summon spell and they freaking tanked the boss in second phase used the spell 3 times then I just cleaned up after them, but I will say cowboy saying the bosses are easy I slightly agree yet at the same time no one is like cowboy we don’t have hours to find all the good stuff lmao 😂 but then again if it wasn’t for cowboy I wouldn’t have beat elden ring 😂
Idk what I did wrong but Iron Wayfair did not spawn for me during the Boss fight at the beginning of this chapter. Should I be concerned
@fightincowboy you missed a stigma in the beginning of the empyrean area
so if you didnt pick up the tattered note reading the comments below respawning in umbral on the fifth time where you bop the belly she does appear and is bugged out but you will get the note
I played this game pretty much blind up until this point and let’s just say I’m hella underleveled compared to FC 😅
The judge Cleric was very easy for me. I melted her health with physical build. First part she was on 5 or 6 hits😂 I take her from first time and was disappointed 😅

Why didn’t he cleanse the beakon? It’s so dumb how I’ve messed up sidequest by just doing the obvious thing. I went up on that one lift and ruined that so now what did I fuck up by cleansing the beakon? Soooo dumb

Would appreciate any help, at 3.30 the cleric that appears (Cowboy refers ti them as "your truly" doesn't appear for me, so no Tattered banner. i have quit and resarted and she still won't appear.. I've been to see Stormund and he is still asking for the other part of the banner.. I really want to complete this as per the walkthrough so would appreciate any help

Yep...I was on my own, I knew Kukajin wouldn't be available but I expected the Iron Wayfarer would be but he wasn't, took about a half dozen tries to beat the boss.

Yeah i had issue where the abysses doesn't spawn when going thru the gate. Will update soon as it does.EDIT: after resting few times i entered umbral before the gate then to the belly pop and she appeared. Weird.
The hardest part of this game is that my game stutter lags evertime the game autosaves, its garbage. Really like this game but hard to take it serious when im dying from autosave lag lol.

I was able to get the banner, but didn't go back to Stomund before I went to Skyrest, and seen both NPCs by the dog are gone, snd now Stomund isn't where he is in this video. Does respawn somewhere else to get the banner or did I screw up the quest?
Do I have to choose not to cleanse beacon or can I just leave and not choose anything? I think I forgot to choose do nothing on a couple….

I have a very Important question. Do I have to choose to not cleanse the beacons or can I simply ignore them? Its confusing me that He always choose do nothing.
So I literally went to reach my hand out to get ice and when I came back the fight was over. The cut scene was longer before you skipped it than the actual fight!
Should I play this game with one of the starting class or the dark crusader for my 1st play through?
Just start with whatever playstyle appeals to you. You want to start with an above average leveled build that uses melee and umbral magic? Go Dark Crusader. Want to go unga bunga pure STR? Start with Hallowed Sentinel. Want to go for a quality/balanced STR/AGI build? Start with Mournstead Infantry class (spears are pretty nice in the beginning for melee range/speed).

I honestly never got any npc summons show up on my 1st playthrough against the judge..I had to fight her solo...thats weird as I was summoning Kukojin everywhere i could...
I almost beat her in my frist tried didn't time well some of her attacks..Especially the launch attack I had like 5% health no more healing and she like 10% at the end she got me..But in the second tried I defeat hear.. Infierno build 😁😁😁😁😁
You can't do the shortcut back to the guy anymore. The laser lady will melt you immediately

Aftet floowinng everything like the walkthrough my Iron wayfarer quest broke at this boss fight for some reason, my door did glich and I had to reset to enter the boss battle but no iron wayfarer for me it seems
This game does have silly breakable quests. If you go ahead to The Empyrean this guys gone so good you mention when npcs go
I love you cowboy, but a little heads up would of been nice to bot enter emporya before giving him the banner, cos i accidently entered there lookin for the shoet cut, my own fault but damn it, new game plus it is i guess
Is there a fix if Stomund doesn’t take the tattered banner? I tried resetting the game and resting multiple times, but he never asks for the banner
I 100% followed all Kukajin steps and paid the vigor after all fights but after I summoned her to the cleric fight she wasn't in her cave in Skyrest anymore. Furthermore the devs nerfed my 2x pieta +5 and basically steal 2 Chunks.... this game is horribly bugged.
They should of refunded you now for the pieta swords
I'd recommend Bloody Glory over the two Abiding swords.

Its funny that Cowboy days the bosses jeed a buff. Im guessing he will enjoy NG+, cuz goddamn did they ever buff the hell out of them. I swear they have 4-5× the health pool, dont stagger for anything, and are so aggressive upu only get 1-2 hits in before having to dodge another combo
I have also heard a lot that Cleric Judge is one of the hardest bosses in the game. But I don't think she is even comparable to Parade Master in Lies of P. Like other Kukajin bosses, I still needed to make myself die to her intentionally or I would just kill her in first attempt.

Probably guys that don’t spam out cheesy spells onto bosses where you get punished for running a melee build.. just a guess though.
First playthrough was pure melee and I had no problems, sounds like a skill issue.

I messed with the build and was offense focused, to my surprise it worked. Turns out great swords aren’t my forte..
@@TheAequitas0 Great swords are all about stagger, you need to abuse the charged attacks to where the bosses don't get to fight back.

Can someone help I defeated judge cleric but she never dropped the thorned chalice I also grabbed all the stigmas and did Thehk quest also gave stomoundt the tattered banner and the other part went through his entire dialogs even found him dead with his armor set and picked up the new banner but yet no thorned chalice ....
Pisses me off. I did every step and exhausted dialogue for the iron wayfarer and he didn’t join the fight. Assuming I’m screwed? On top of that, the enemy that drops the tattered banner didn’t spawn at all. So irritating. So much for 100% the game and time I put into it. 😡.
Edit: so while still in umbral in the spot where it’s supposed to spawn I completely closed out my game and restarted it. Then it ended up spawning to drop the banner. If you run into the same issue as me. Try that.
I used the sword of skin and tooth and justice with the rune to remove stats and weight and the Judge got obliterated, I was laughing so hard at how fast she died I used 1 heal.

Dunmire already went bonkers in my playthrough and i forgot to get lucent beam beforehand. Is there any way of getting it after he loses his s**t?

Devs said the stick is the strongest weapon, we haven't figured out how to make it even stronger.
Stick is a gimmick, I wouldn't consider it the strongest unless there's some hidden gimmick that boosts its damage 10x
I am pissed the wayfarer bugged and wouldn't show up I even watched a guide on his quest alone and I did everything and reconfirmed his steps but he would not show up

And if you go to the empyean before getting the flag he disappears
You sounded like you got the cleric's Briar Storm spell on a whim but you need it for the 'all radiant spells' achievement.
I'm not particular concerned about trophies. The guide covers it but im not interested in the farming needed
@@FightinCowboy Maybe put a disclaimer on your description that is not a fully 100% guide? That some stuff will be needed outside the scope of this guide.

Saying you need to get all weapons, etc. it's a trophies description.
This series is great for the umbral ending though, and talk about possibility. When you need to search elsewhere other trophies information, in my book don't call it 100%.

I agree that to be 100% walkthrough it should be, as with others, to gain all trophies. I only realised this about half way through the game. Nonetheless a great guide though. I’m happy to all the farming and will see how far this gets me. Failing that you can get other players to drop you vigour to buy everything from every vendor, spells, armour, weapons etc. That’s what I’m doing.
I followed the Iron warfare’s quest line all the way through and he didn’t appear in the battle.
