Top 50 Most Successful Junior Eurovision Songs (2003-2017)

  • It's a list of the 50 Junior Eurovision songs by percentage of maximum possible score. Every song's amount of points was divided by maximum possible score which the song could be awarded.
    The video includes songs from up to and including 2017's Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Note that in 2005-2015 all songs automatically receive 12 points and these points are included here.
    In case of a tie current rules of Eurovision are applied (unless the songs are from the same year and there was a tie-breaker rule). The one who gets the highest percentage of the countries who awarded points wins. If there is still a tie, it is counted how many sets of maximum points in relation to the number of countries each country received, etc. Automatic 12 points are not considered in tie-breaking.
    All rights belongs to EBU.

      Why would this be? Is the new voting system not allowing the contestants to have stronger winnings?. This year the winner got 188 of 372 possible points. That's just around the 50%. I also noticed that Georgia 2016 was so low in the list despite being a winner.

    • @AlexESC
      @AlexESC  Před 6 lety +4

      +C7F5C 97 yep. Before, you had to be the first in a combined result of the jury and the televoting to get max 12 points from them, but in 2016 you had to be the first both in the adult jury and the kids jury to get max 24 points. This year is trickier to count because it's hard to say what to consider as maximum possible points from the online voting (all 929 points, maybe?), but anyway Polina definitely got less than 56%. Similar stuff has happened in the adult Eurovision.

    #1 is #11's little sister. (Among other shenanigans at the end of the 2012 show, Victoria goes onto the stage with the contestants during the victory song.) Kudos to that family!
    Other shenanigans:
    * The runner-up, from Georgia, #32 on this list, gives Anastasiya a kiss on the cheek before she leaves the Ice Room, (I don't think he minded losing to her)
    * During the instrumental part of the victory performance, she walks over and gives him a big hug, and he very quickly kisses her again
    * Her dress seems to be designed to produce wardrobe malfunctions, most of which were edited out of the video
    * During the distraction of the hug and kiss during that performance, Victoria hands the Ukraine flag to the Belorussian contestants, and they wave it behind Anastasiya for the rest of the song
    * A Belorussian dancer gives her a hug as she leaves the Ice Room, and during the performance can't get enough of seeing himself on the screen
    * The non-singer from the Azerbaijan group photobombs the victory performance, showing that the real reason why she was included was to get her some cheap publicity, (she was impressive)
    Someone else's grandpa thinks it was all cute.
    Side note: Compared to the Common Song and victory performance, Anastasiya was holding back during the competition performance.

    In 2012 the biggest amount of points you could get was 144, because there are 12 countries + the kids jury = 13

      Best Budget DIYs Because they changed the rules about the song, the age and the vote. Before this, children between 8 and 15 years wrote and composed their music. Now, adults make their songs and add some English sentences. I mean compare the Macedonian song from 2003 and 2016. 2003 sounds more junior, more fun and 2016 sounds too Eurovision(even the video).

    • @Copyrightbreaker22
      @Copyrightbreaker22 Před 6 lety +1

      Louiz XD Because that percentage is in comparison to the maximum amount of points. For example let's say 13 countries comepete each country can give 12 points, because you can't give yourself points that mean if every country gives the same country 12 points (what will never ever happen) this would mean that maximum amount of points one country that country would have 144 points that would be 100% of the possible points you can get say all the countries also give the same country all the 10 points this would mean that that country would've 120 point or 83,3% of the possible amount of points. That's how you can get over 50% of the possible amount of points and still end up 2nd or 3rd.

    At 9:47 it shows that Armenia 🇦🇲 got more points than Malta 🇲🇹

    • @EurovisionFanXD
      @EurovisionFanXD Před 4 lety +2

      This is a list according to the percentage of availability of points... in 2013 there were only 12 countries participating while in 2015 there were 17 countries. Gaia got 130 out of 156 points while armenia got 176 out of 216 points, hence malta has a larger percentage.
