i dont think anybody is going to make unions on roblox to use them on blender. they look fine in studio and in my opinion is a faster and easier way of making models, rather than having to learn a whole different program for modeling.
look at the triangles on the back, more faces is less performant
the amount of faces here is definitely not enough to lag but if you use it too much then it becomes suboptimal
in blender you can merge faces together which is pretty epic
if you're making a big map with lots of models, yeah, using meshes would make more sense. but i use unions for small details in my maps, that's why i think they're practical and a good way.
i used a union in blender and it was completely fine

no the topo also becomes bad and causes shading issues if you use unions. meshes don't have that or you can manually fix it in blender whereas you cant in studio

@@quillzarlation mostly blender would waste your time on modeling because it would be very hard too code the model even it would take days too learn and unions save time
@@emilskogshuis3516 Literally the opposite, blender is usually faster more a lot of models and unions take up time because of the limited shapes you have and messed up collision. Also, you should value performance over time

@@quillzarlation Wrong. it actually makes performance better by reducing unnecessary drawcalls and can drastically lower memory consumption when used in greedy meshing algorithms to union voxels.

I have to much union in my (big) map and i can't publish my game for now
But union are good for little map
how many.... I've generated multi-millions of voxels and didn't encounter such an issue, and if you do encounter such an issue, usually partcounts only affect that kind of stability because of the large amounts of memory.
Oh the comment is prety old i can't remenber how many but im now using mesh instead of unions.
