In the distant future, mankind's dependence on fossil fuels will lead to their complete depletion, an energy crisis unlike anything the world witnessed. Out of retaliation and fear, humanity began focusing at an alternative source of energy: solar power. Different nations have united together to form three major factions-the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations, the Advanced European Union, and the Human Reform League. Each of these sectors has access to a solar power generator, which gives them limitless energy.
As a result, countries that were once dependent on the sale of fossil fuels are now plunged in poverty, leading to years of warfare and internal strife over the control of solar energy. Amid this chaos, an unknown paramilitary organization appeared identifying themselves as "Celestial Being," aspire to end all warfare through armed intervention by using mysterious and technologically advanced Mobile Suits known as Gundams.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 follows the story of Celestial Being's Gundam Meisters Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism, and Tieria Erde. These four dive into the devastating battle between the three superpowers to accomplish their goal of changing the world.

This was the golden grail when they try to experiment the jump from 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9 full wide screen formst in high defination. It holds up very well to 1080p and even 4k resolution.
Sunrise did a amazing job as TV was transitioning from square boxes to wide flat screen

his death could have been more memorable if his twin did not come out from nowhere. They should have let lockon 2 be a new person, not a clone of lockon 1
But the twin didn't come out of nowhere. In season 1 when the og lockon was visiting his family's grave, the twin was there first while og lockon was behind a tree, or vise versa (cuz they look the same lol). Ep 9 if I recall

Ironically, that was what people wanted. They assumed Lyle was the same as Neil. He couldn't be what his brother was, so he learned to find his own individuality, and style of combat. No longer the sniper of the team, but a very versatile support.

plenty of material but not sure why they never did expand 00 aside from the movie that got so long to release
@@OperaceFlakpanzer They did with several mangas and novels. But other than that yes, they didn't make other animated series like what they did with Seed's Stargazer and some part of Astray. They planned to do a sequel for 00 that tells the story after the ELS war but apparently the release date is on 2027. Makes you wonder why they even bother to announce it 10 years before its supposed release date, and when SEED is getting a movie on its 20th anniversary.

i kinda didn't like how the main characters in the series always need hundreds of shots to take them out, but every other thing be it ship or machine needed a "well place shot" then, boom the mc team wins by the power of plot armour
Keep in mind the Gundams were better in many terms than the gnx and most of the other mobile suits in their time, but the only reason why the celestial being lost here was because there were too many gnxs and they were in a way new tech.
Gundam in ss1 is 3rd generation, Gnx with pseudo solar reator can compare to 3rd generation but a bit lower tech. That why with more than 20 GNXs UN can overpower 3 Gundams.
