Floor herself told in her reaction video to GLS that "Ever Dream" is the most difficult song to sing. Btw. her reaction video is a thank you to all you guys and fantastic. As far as I know she is the only musician doing a reaction video on her own song showing respect to your work. She is so smart 😊. A must see. Watch it for yourself and you'll fall in love with her again. 😊
Because she belts it rather than sing it in her head voice. Sustained high belting is quite difficult.

Yes, Buenos Aires, I want my tears back. She had been with the band about six years and matured as a front woman. I want my tears back was also done in Wacken. She had been with them a scant nine months. It would be fun to compare and contrast the two performances. Both were outstanding.
Marco is also great (of course) in Devil and the Deep dark ocean (in Buenos Aires)😀

One of my favorite performances and I'm glad you liked it. Believe you me that there is so much to this band. There is fan groups with thousands of people per group. We talk about so much and we are all passionate about everything Nightwish. You really have found the band that sets a high mark in every area. Great reaction

When I first started down the Nightwish rabbit hole, it actually got to the stage where I was having Floorgasm´s before Floor even started singing. No joke... She would walk out and just her stage presence would induce fullbody goosebumps. I really didn´t know what was going on with me lol Nice reaction guys!

@@nicod1361 I´m so sure you´re correct that Nico. About 4 months ago I happened to come across Floor. She was singing GLS and tears streamed out. I was in shock of her beauty in every sense. For the last 4 months I have listened to Floor everyday and always get goosebumps and tears. I had cognitive issues after I had meningitis 10 years ago. I had much sadness and felt really tired and burn´t out. Listening to Floor sing is by far the best medicine for my soul. I just feel happy and positive now. She is really inspiring to me to live my best life. What an amazing woman she is :)

According to Floor herself, "Ever Dream" is one of the hardest songs for her, not because of the hight of the notes, but because she has to stay up there almost through the whole song.
So, not the worst pick to start your new ranking with this song :-)
To see and hear Troy, look at "I want my Tears back". For this song in particular I would recommend the live version of Buenos Aires. Even better video than the Wacken version, imo.

That octave lift there is what makes it challenging for Floor or any singer for that matter. Being able to belt it that high, with such support and clear notes takes decades of practice.
A nugget of information: Marko started as a vocalist in a legendary Finnish band called Tarot with his brother. He was belting high notes already in the 80s. In the beginning of 00s he had to have a surgery on his vocal folds and it didn't go perfect, so he had to learn to sing differently. For this reason Marko's voice is rougher nowadays, but in my opinion It's really cool that way.

Floor has the most diverse vocals on the planet, no one can convey emotions with movement, facial expressions and voice, as Floor conveys it, she is the best.Floor's first group was After Forever, where she began singing at the age of 16, in this group she wrote many songs, sang a lot in an operatic voice, her operatic voice was unusual and more varied than that of opera vocalists, whose voice is completely operatic.Floor is a very sincere, humble person with a big heart, I have not seen anyone as close to their fans as Floor.

Well done again guys. Still early in your Nightwish journey, but feel your reactions are a lot more honest than some out there. I get what you mean by saying this a new type of music to take in. I had always been a huge fan of 80’s metal from bands like Maiden and Saxon, but Nightwish just draws you in, and there’s no escape! Floor just rocks my world on every tune. Good luck with trying to work out where she is stronger. I couldn’t. Every song has something special. Look forward to the next one 💪

Oh yes, Marko is a beast of a vocalist! His vocals in "High Hopes" and "Phantom of the Opera" are insane, performed in the End of an Era concert where the first vocalist Tarja sang "Everdream" and her operatic vocals work so well with this song. Well, Tuomas wrote it for her.. if you have a chance, I recommend that you listen to Tarja's version on your own at some point.
I understand that your Floorgasm rating is just having a bit of fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously. Nevertheless, please don't forget to show appreciation for the other members of the band, too. They are a real band who work together to create the magical Nightwish experience.

If you want to hear Troy please listen to weak fantasy live at Tampera. You can’t imagine the instruments he uses in a metal band. But is works great. Or ‘the greatest show on earth’ were he uses multiple instruments. Weak fantasy is my favourite Nightwish song because of the drums and also great vocals by Marco. Great comments guys. Love it. Your modest floorgasme meter shows you are not just looking for extra likes. Extra bonus: both songs contain Richard Dawkins (British ethologist).

I would suggest to add ‘Slow, Love, Slow’ live at Fort Lauderdale USA 2012. You will experience another side of this band: they can be Jazzy too.
This was at one of Floor’s first concerts with the band, so quite amazing how quickly she could learned the setlist. Unfortunately this isn’t a professional recording but the experience is great still.

Floor did huge in this too, it's just that Marko did as well, plus the whole band. This is not one of the songs where Floor stands out.
Iactually like that they have songs which highlight different members, and different sides of their musical interests. Not all of their songs are metal.
When Tuomas was asked in an interview, what type of music Nohtwish plays, he answered: 'We've been called a symphonic metal band...'
I think it's brilliant answer: tells much turth about their music, yet it doesn't bind them, as if they'd 'promised' to play symphonic metal.

@@BritPopsReact I don't know what you mean with the name tag - was it about the symphonic metal etc.? Thst was in another comment, I think. I just meant that Floor didn't conquer the stage like in GLS, becuase how this song is composed. And I like their variation.
But I also just react like what sounds good to me. I don't like all the Nightwish songs. For me it's mostly about the lyrics. They're poetucally skillful mostly, sometimes good, and in some songs I like some phrase, others I disagree with, though the poetic expression might be good. And there are a few, where the main message I disagree with - some more aggressive accusations are misfiring :) Compositions I like more often than the words :)
