RARE VISITOR! Air Greenland Dash 8-200 Landing at Calgary Airport

- Last Saturday, this Dash 8-200 from Air Greenland flew into Calgary!
Air Greenland is an extremely rare sight here, and this Dash 8 came for a C-Check, flying here from Nuuk via Iqaluit and Churchill, and will probably be here for at least a few weeks.
It landed on 17L, taxiied to Apron 6, and then started up again to taxi over to Avmax, who's doing the work.
After seeing their A330 in Fort Mac last year, I didn't think I would see one of their smaller Dash 8s right at home, so this was quite the treat! Enjoy the video!

The single reason why the dash 8 is my fav aircraft is that sound it makes when it starts up
Same here, I first became aware of that sound when I was about 4, and since then it's been one of my favourite sounds on earth!
Honestly it reminds me of the twotter in some ways, loved flying on those
I really like the startup sound of the P-51, and I’d assume other warbirds if I ever got the chance to see them startup
I assume Dash 8s coming here from rarely seen airlines will become a regular occurrence now De Havilland calls Calgary home.

Nice catch, this sure was an unexpected one to see! I was filming from the parking garage by the terminal, I may have even gotten you in my shot!

What a beautiful dash 8! I love their propellas. Was this the one that was parked at the airport in Greenland having an engine problem a couple of weeks ago? Its nice its having some checks and tech done. I have a model 1:400 diecast of the newer airbus jet at the airport received last year. Apologies I'm just a year into aviation and the makes , but I fell in love with a few videos of them that popped up on youtube. Hope whatever needed doing was fixed xx 😊❤

Is this the plane Buffalo should be acquiring?
Why would they not tow the aircraft with a tug. Apron 6 is at the northern part of the airport and Avmax is just about 5 km, in a straight line (Taxi Charlie), all the way to the southern part of the airport. Why did they use apron 6. After landing on 17L it would have been much shorter to go straight to the Avmax complex.
