Contested each May, the PGA Championship is the second major championship in golf’s annual rotation, and perennially features the strongest field in the men's game based on the Official World Golf Rankings. Known for dramatic finishes and notable champions, the Wanamaker Trophy-which has been awarded to the winner since 1916-is inscribed with names such as McIlroy, Woods, Nicklaus, and Player. The 2024 PGA Championship is set to take place between May 16-19 at Valhalla Golf Club. The reigning champion is Brooks Koepka.

You can't fake the joy Rory had for Michael on that hole in one. Rory is a class act.
Always was and always will be. And he will win again!
He could definitely fake him pretending to not know it went in the hole though. Crowds don't cheer like that for less than a hole in one.
Rory's a bully stooge POS
I didn't see that at all, but okay
Nah Rory just Hayes Koepka
"Rory did it go in?" Bet he never thought he'd utter that sentence
IKR. Underrated comment!
It's what dreams are made of.
He's just a humble guy who is confident in his swing, hung with the best of the best in the world. Got paired with one of the best golf players in the world on the final day. Shot a slam dunk hole in 1 in front of Rory live on television. Got himself a nice up and down on the 18th hole on the last day to place 15th overall to get invited to next years tournament. That last put on 18 was insane with that pressure... The man has ice in his veins. Brooks won the championship, Blockie won the peoples hearts!
After an 81 today , he’ll be back in the pro shop Saturday morning.
@@dandydon6049 good on him for achieving more on the golf course than you or anyone else commenting on this video including myself, he’ll be back !
@@dandydon6049damn bro... it's just a girl, you'll find love again! Relax
You notice how in the middle of all that after his putt on 18 he still had the clarity of mind and the respect for the game to ask the crowd to quiten down so Rory could putt out?
His 15 minutes of fame will turn into a few years. Absolutely phenomenal
Until he pulls in a win ... then 😮
Do you realize the vast majority of PGA players never even finish top 20 their entire career right ? There are toms of guys with tour cards that you’ve never even seen play that might make the cut five times in a good year.
Haha I bet he doesn’t break 75 tomorrow or Friday…his time is over
This moment will now forever be a classic. Will NOT be easily forgotten.
@@TrotGolfer were you born a douch
Seems a decent bloke. The best thing is his love for golf.
Block* 😂😂
@@RegDudeMan26 bloke means man
And the fact that Neflix was following him filming all day!! Holy shit thats gonna be an episode! Best thing to happen to golf in a long time. Hope he gets invites the rest of the year. You will see Blockie hats this week in the crowd, count on it. So cool.
This man will be on top shots of the year and will always be remembered. Love fairy-tale stories!
Man is the legend. I’ve watched his hole in one at least 20 times
I saw it LIVE on ESPN+ and they called BETTER than CBS did
Did it go in every time?
@@Forever_Laura that’s what she said 😂
You have too much time on your hands! 🤪
Sadly, he missed the cut at the Schwab Challenge, shooting rounds of 81 and 74 but I’m DEFINITELY looking forward to seeing him at Valhalla in 2024
He’s a really nice guy. I have met him and shook his hand probably a dozen times. He’s outgoing, respectful, and generous.
This man's story brought tears to my eyes. It's encouraging to see good things happening to good people.
Thanks PGA
The way he finished that tournament is one of the greatest things I've seen....
The physical mental and emotional fatigue alone is insane.... on a major course layout for four rounds.... and everyone is watching.... at 46?
And he's an authentic man of the people.
Definitely the greatest sports story thus far in 2023. This will be fun to watch.
I week ago: an unknown local pro (really cool). This week paired with an absolute legend and stuns the world with an ace! 👏👏👏
That up and down at 18 was very special
I think he can win a tournament. The PGA needs to do whatever they can to get him into as many tournaments as possible!
He’s already in the crowne plaza this week
Bet
Aced 15 finished 15th. Great stuff.
The shivers I got each time I saw the slam dunk were insane.
I honestly can't think of a better sports moment in my lifetime. No hyperbole. I always thought that maybe someday the PGA Championship might produce this kind of magic from a club pro, but over the years it just seemed that the tour studs were just way too good for this to happen.
Honestly i don't even watch professional golf much at all, but even while watching the beginnings of this video, you can just feel the magic, the buzz in the crowd... it's just, different.
I got goosebumps every time with the putt at 18… omg… amazing!
Could not happen to a better guy. He is first class all the way . Congratulations! Thank you for the thrill of a lifetime. The hole in one is for the sport history books
Predominantly plays a draw, with all the pressure has no problem playing a cut. Just mind-boggling stuff congratulations Mike
Insane that a top PGA professional can shape the ball, hats off to this guy for that
@@zbabyg6998 your a tool dude. Absolutely no chance you could have hit those shots when needed. I would love to say more because your comment is ridiculous. I'm a 2 handicap and I can hit both on demand. Not with that pressure though. Grow up
The fact that your negative about any comments on here just shows how much help you need. Good luck
@@zbabyg6998 I got a great lesson one afternoon at the club from your mom. I was amazed how good she was at gripping my club. She showed me so many tricks. She was even telling me how much of a troll her son was. I told her, don't worry, just keep washing my golf balls
@@zbabyg6998 Buddy...he was talking about the situation with the pressure. Even if this guy is better than 99.9999% of the world population, he is a fair notch below this environment and these tour pros. It's not like going and hitting the same shot on your local course...Please learn the sport next time, kid!
You could never in your life write a script that amazing. That whole 4 days was a pleasure to watch.
Actually you can..bc like this all sports are scripted
@@DTB1995 yeah. And lizard people control our politicians and the sun is a projection. I see what you are doing here. And I find it funny.
This is why i became a professional, the love of the game is overwhelming..Congratulations to Mr block. Thank you pga tour for bringing us a great weekend, i love this game!
Getting a hole in one in the last round, what a way to cap off the Cinderella story of Michael Block. And it could not have happened to a nicer, more humble guy.
Michael Block is a classy guy and very humble. I would like some lessons from him if it was possible. I pulled for him all the way. He never gave up. We all could learn from his humbleness.
Great story and such an inspiration. Love how he took it all in his stride. Hope he can keep going..why not.
This is the only sport this kind of thing happens in. Really cool, gives hope to all of us.
Yea not too much hope tho
What? This happens in all sports lmao. Sport miracles arent just golf lol, if anything it probably happens in Golf the least of any sport.
@@jacobshier I meant it's the only sport a 45 year old amateur can walk on & "compete" with the pros.
@@amurkinamerican1608 Agree to disagree, I can name about 6 people in other sports doing the same thing in the past 5 years lol
Golf's the great equaliser. Unfortunately, his luck ran out at Fortworth. I hope we all get to enjoy more of Michael's incredible rounds in the future.
After that day, I added a fav golfer to my list and i got to watch both of them tee off and watch all that happen live. Absolutely incredible story, i wish there was more like it. unforgettable. Well done.
Congratulations Michael Block on your awesome round at the PGA Campionship.
I've been watching golf's major tournaments since 1964. I've never seen a" hole in one", on he fly. Truly amazing.
THATS WHAT LIVIN IS! I love that he'd seen the final round in his minds eye or dreamed it at some point, I have also experienced this before big moments in my life. its comforting and exhilarating at the same time. What a story. Amazing.
From GTA to the PGA. Impressive.
Haha
The emotions I felt during this suprised me
Sometimes the universe aligns and good things happen to good people...
The only possible way that this thing in this story could get any better, is if he actually plays well and makes the cut at the Colonial this weekend.
Side note, it's just like the Canadians to invite this guy. It is just so them to do that. What a Class Act they are in Canada.
Thank you kindly sir 🇨🇦
He shot +9 today. At least that when I stopped watching. Likely a 1 hit wonder. A great 15 minutes of fame tho.
@@mikerodrick2430 yeah of course. I mean he looks like he knows what he's doing, but to play those courses that the big leagues play is really really tough. I mean, it would have been great if he could have somehow made the cut. But that would be the miracle. I knew he was just out there having fun and probably obviously mentally exhausted after what happened at the PGA. I can't imagine the stress on the brain and all the Public Relation interviews he's been doing for all those days. He was just out there having fun those two days at this course next year, maybe he'll do better at the PGA in Valhalla
I think Rory shows his class massively in this video. True champion
One of the best golf stories ever where a golf joe does this just goes to show never give up on your dreams ❤❤❤
The hole in one was amazing but I think the putt on 18 for par was actually the stand out of his 4 rounds. The pressure on him to sink that putt, what was on the line.........that putt would determine this mans future and he nailed it
What is awesome thing to watch a man achieving his goal in life….outstanding! And fun!
Such a down to earth dude
Chills this whole video👏
What a super nice guy. The brother has game!!!
Block! cheering for you back home
PGA are forcing us to forget about this year's champion with this guy (who basically did an underdog story)
Some great golf! Congratulations!
The perfect golf shot literally
His 4 rounds were the craziest thing I've seen in a long time.
Amazing accomplishment. Very humble and appreciative gentleman.
You have a cute little granddaughter, how old is she?
WOW ! That's one for the bucket list .
Every golf club member will have shared the 'in club' emotion of seeing THEIR pro hole in one at the PGA. Phenomenal. I guarantee there will have been tears.
This story still makes me so happy.
Good on ya mate for following your dreams… hard work reaps rewards👍
Simply amazing, and for all you Rory haters, get your head out of your arse...Rory knew he was witnessing a magic moment, and he, opinions aside, has been a class act through everything
Reminiscent of the Lee Trevino story. THAT'S GOLF!
Remember what they say it's all in the mind set that you can compete with the best in the world its just what can your body endure and finding that mental comfort zone which he definitely had his putting was solid
Back home in California, the neighbors need to host a "Block" party!!! 😂
Yeah, a Block Party…Block Party
What a guy! Love it
The recovery shot out of the crowd on 18 to set up the final putt gave me Phil Mickelson vibes. Same with the chip out of a hole on 14 where he could barely see the flag.
What a great week of golf. Super hard course, Really nice guy comes out of nowhere and plays at a top level, capped off with a hole in one.
I think this is the best hole in one we've witnessed on tour this year.
What an incredible story!!
Crazy its been that long since watching Rory win the tour
That shot at 15 is one of the great golf moments in history ⛳️
Awesome job, Congrats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only ace I've ever had, I didn't see the ball go in the hole. I couldn't believe it when I checked the cup.
I can only imagine how he felt, not even seeing the best shot of his life go in the hole. Just incredible.
You are right up there when Tiger and Weir were at the Masters. My Dad's 70th Birthday.. the entire town was on could nine forever! My Father yelled out the front door.
Always irks me a bit when commentators always seem to say "that's as good as it gets " on a shot that ends up 5 ' from the cup. Now Blocks hole in one was laser and precision INTO the cup and note to commentators " THATS as good as it gets" !!! congrats Block !
He will never forget this day!
I'm not crying I've been chopping onions
PGA pumping this story so hard !
Trying to deflect from the LIV golfer that won, and won his 5th Major championship
tears in my eyes
Pointing out that shot on 14 was unbelievable lol even Rory thought so.
Best round of golf from last year
fantastic
Truly a Tin Cup moment that day. Loudest cheers I've heard since Tiger in Atlanta.
One of the best stories in the history of sport
Blockey Magic!
"hes leaving here as the crowd favorite. Might as well join them on 18!!".....what a great call
Golf needs this feel good story!!! No more of this LiV vs PGA crap... this is what we need. Routing for him!!!
I'm crying...
Try to find the video of his interview right after. It's the 1st time he sees the watch party and how his son said it was his greatest day. Block was crying and so I was I, crazy moving
What a great name for a golfer as I’ve hit that shot off the tee. Gives me hope that one day the announcer will say, “Now on the tee Robert SHANK!” 😂
This was fucking beautiful!
Cheers boys 🍻
GREAT STORY!!!!!
One of the greatest runs in sports history. Memories of linsanity 🙌
One of us!
just with a smoother swing
What a great story.
Great swing🙂
Right!? smooth as silk!
😊luck 🤞 it went in how 😅 great Michael Ireland happy for you
When it's your time, it's your time.
Congratulations on exceptional ball striking, and tremendous touch with the flat stick. Great, easy swing to repeat.
Good onya Michael 😮
That wasn’t just a hole in one, that was a swish!
Fucking love it that’s why Golf is such a great game
Life changer moment. Congrats
Key to the city in Rochester coming up?
What a great guy!!!
He was in shock that whole tournament
