    Thank-you for doing this review. It's just what I was looking for. These are the exact two models I am considering and was curious as to the real world difference between them. I have a brand new Cub Cadet BC490 4-stroke weed trimmer/brush cutter and it's been working great. But I have an old Weed Eater brand weed trimmer that's seen it's better days and I want to replace it with a high quality Echo weed trimmer. The SRM 2620 will fit my needs and will save me some cash too.

    Great video! I just purchase the srm2620 cant wait to get it running. I currently own a srm3020 and it has so much power for regular maintenance property, as well heavy for all day long use.
    Hope this new 2620 works well for my business.

    I have the Shindaiwa 262 non T (basically a red echo 2620). Plenty of power for lawn care. Only time I wish it had more power is taking down tall weeds in horse pastures or fields. My Stihl 130 is better for that. I am just a home owner who likes quality tools. One thing I LOVE about the 262 is how light it is. I tend to like the true two strokes vs the Stihl 4 mixes. My echo and shindaiwa stuff seem to start better than Stihl stuff. Great video love the product reviews on both!

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 5 lety +1

      Thanks for the feedback. I agree the echo stuff ie easier to start than the stihl 4 mix. Like you my stihl km110 has more power than the 2620 but it’s a much bigger engine. The 2620T is all the advantages of the 2620 with the same torque I’d say as the much bigger and heavier stihl.

    If I needed a trimmer for just cutting lawns, the echo 2620 would be my pick. But I do have areas where I have to cut thick grass and weeds, so I would probably get an FS91R if I needed a new trimmer. I love my FS90R, it just cuts right through everything like butter. That 4 stroke power is hard to beat.

    I just bought the 3020t a few. Weeks ago but I ordered the standard gearbox for it because like u said its overkill especially for the srm 3020 just not enuff speed unless for were I liked to run mine and thatz not wide open all the time

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 3 lety

      The 3020 is a beast. I actually use the 2620T everyday in my business. I like the extra torque for edging with the trimmer. Thanks for watching.

  • @strobaholic
    @strobaholic Před 4 lety +2

    I just bought a 2620t today and also used it to trim and edge my yard. I’m upgrading from an old srm225 that’s not working like it used to. The difference in power is substantial. It does not bog down. It’s quieter than the 225, but does consume noticeably more fuel than the 225. But I still really like it. I walked into the store looking for a 3020, but they didn’t have any. But I’m glad I bought the 2620t.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 4 lety +2

      The 2620T is my favorite. Perfect balance of weight to power. The 3020 is a monster. It’s really overkill for regular maintenance. I believe it’s actually classed as a brush cutter. Thanks for watching.

      Tbh I’m looking into upgrading I will probably just go with the 2620T since it’s a few dollars more why not have that extra torque in handy…I know stihl is one of the best in products but I wanna stick to echo I like the looks more and I do mainly residential thank god it hasn’t ever backed down on me and I use a 225 !:)

  • @kirkthebeerslinger
    @kirkthebeerslinger Před 2 lety +2

    Agree with your overkill comment on the 2620T... It works for regular residential properties, but it is almost to torque/powerful... Worth the extra money? Sure because it's nice to have that extra power, but if 99% of your properties are weekly subdivision lots - probably overkill

    Sorry if youve already answered this. Do you feel the speed decrease from the 2:1 gearing hurts you in any way when compared to the regular 2620 non T version. Basically are you comfortable with just running the torque version all the time instead of the regular version. I’m considering doing just that.

      If it’s a 2620T as in the dedicated string trimmer then no it does not use attachments. You would need to buy the PAS-2620 power head to use interchangeable attachments. Thanks for watching.

    Have you noticed a lot of vibration in the 2620T? I’ve used the stihl 111 rx at my part time job for years and have an echo srm225. I just started my own company last year and just bought a 2620T today and it vibrates so bad I don’t even want to hold the handle. I’ve never felt that before in the other trimmers I’ve used.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 3 měsíci

      I don’t use the 2620T anymore or any gas trimmers for that matter but during the years I did it was a good unit and lack of vibration was always one of the things I liked most about it. The combination of the black Diamond line with the rubberized grips and flexible D handle did a great job at minimizing vibration. So I’d say it definitely sounds like something may be off with yours. Thanks for watching.

    • @peteperchulyn7887
      @peteperchulyn7887 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@LawnCareBusinessSuccess It had the black diamond line in it. It ended up being the line somehow got tangled up in the speed feed head from the factory and there was more in one side than the other throwing the balance off. So I pulled it all out and threaded it back up and it was good to go. Something to remember even for your battery stuff as I’m sure it would have the same result in this situation.
